Fleki’s POV

After I’d indulged in re-igniting the spark that had been left to wither by Lustre’s absence in my chambers for the past few weeks, I felt oddly re-energized and much eager to re-establish our former relationship as I took my seat at my study desk to catch up on some of the work I’d been clearing from the weeks where I was freshly grieving.

I’d also sent for Reid because I needed his input on certain areas that he had to singlehandedly oversee while I was absent from work. He was hunched over the edge of my desk while I was seated and he kept pointing at documents where my signature was needed so that I could sign them off and we’d been at it for quite a while and yet it seemed like we’d be at it for much longer.

Just when I thought I’d finally caught my breath and I was enjoying some semblance peace despite the chaos that hovered dangerously about me, the doors of my chambers were flung open loudly and I heard some obnoxiously clacking shoes hit the floor as someone made
