Lydia’s POV

What is he hiding from me?! I wanted so desperately to wait outside and listen in but I knew I barely had seconds left so I pushed open the door.

Darwin jumped in surprise and even Parker, who was seated opposite Darwin, had a confused-shocked look on his face.

“Your file, Master,” I said as I angrily walked up to his desk and threw down the file.

What a hypocrite! He’s so angry with me but he’s also keeping things from me.

“How did you get here without me hearing your footsteps or catching your scent?” Darwin asked me with an accusation in his eyes.

I scoffed, “Really? So now, once again, I’m at fault."

“Answer the question, Lydia!” He growled impatiently.

“I don’t know, Master,” I hissed "Maybe you didn’t notice because you were too involved in your conversation."

“What do you mean you don’t know! Is this another secret you’re keeping from me?" Darwin got up from his chair and yelled in my face.
