“I can't believe you're making me do this,” Freya hissed in a low voice.

“Righttt you might want to avoid speaking,” I chuckled. “No one can see me. Any more of your mumbling and the palace would be agog with rumors of the mad princess,”

“Like I care. They already talk about me anyway,” Freya muttered bitterly.

My heart softened a bit but I remained silent as she stood in front of Lyssandra’s door and took a deep breath.

“This is the last thing I do for you,” Freya hissed “and you better not use her blood for some voodoo or spell,”

I rolled my eyes, and all my earlier sympathy vanished.

“I’m Fae, not a witch. Get a move on or I’ll show you the difference?”

I smiled in amusement as Freya took a small fearful step away from me and knocked on the door.

“Lyss? Lyssie?” She called out.

The door unlocked almost immediately and Lyssandra stepped back with a smile.

She wasn’t dressed up. In just a camisole, no makeup, and her blond curls down her shoulders she almost looked normal
