After what felt like forever, Rae lifted her head from my chest and looked into my eyes. The pain was gone, her tears had dried, and all that remained was her confusion. She didn’t know who I was to her. And, from the incident reported in the local papers about the wolf sighting, it was obvious she had no idea werewolves existed. But how extensive was her amnesia?

Was it the amnesia that fucked her wolf up or the rejection?

With her scent all around me and the heat of her body right against mine, the bond I’d tried to ignore was glaringly obvious. Rae had no idea why she was drawn to me, why my touch had brought her down from whatever cliff she’d been on. Our heartbeats sounded like music to my ears, as unwanted as it was.
