Lenora
What the hell is going on? Is he in his right senses? How can he say he doesn't give a damn whether I can give him children or not? I mean no Alpha in his right senses will want to be with a barren Luna for heaven's sake! He wants to be with a woman who will never conceive? EVERY Alpha wants a woman who will provide them with pups that can succeed them when they are no more. My barrenness was the main reason why Axel's attitude towards me changed. If I wasn't barren, I'd have still been in the pack and maybe Melissa wouldn't have come into the picture. “You don't know what you are saying, Zade. We can't be together. I can't give you any pups at all, even if we have to wait forever” I said in a stern voice, hoping to make him change his mind, but he shook his head. “Of course I know what I want, Lenora. I want you and you alone. Like I said earlier, if the moon goddess gives us children, that's a bonus, but if she doesn't, we will adopt one,” He repeated the same words that he had said to me and I just stared at him in shock and disbelief. “Zade,” I couldn't believe my ears. He really wants us to be together? “Yes, Lenora,” He answered with a small smile and I sighed. “Are you really sure about this? You really don't care if I can bear children or not?” I asked. I just had to make sure that I heard him clearly. “Yes, Lenora. I don't care. I want you and I want us to live forever,” “What if you change your mind later? What if you send me away at the end of the day? What if the pressure from your pack becomes too much and–” Before I could finish my words, he placed his index finger on my lips, thereby stopping me from whatever I was about to say. “You have nothing to worry about, my dear,” “No, I have every right to be worried. What if they ask you to send me away when I can't provide an heir for you?” “Who is the Alpha?” He asked with raised eyebrows. I cleared my throat before answering. “Its you of course,” I answered. “Good,” He nodded. “Does the pack have any rights to tell an Alpha what to do?” “Of course, they do. You are a leader and as a leader, it is your responsibility to do whatever the pack wants,” After all that was what my mate did. The thought hurts so much. ‘Yeah. I can't be with a murderer. This is what the Pack have accepted and you know as a leader, I have to please my people. I'll do anything for their safety'. His words replayed in my head. “And now you are mistaken. An Alpha can only do what he feels is right for the pack, not because it's what the pack wants. Do you get it?” I hesitated before answering. “Yes, but–” “There are no buts here, Lenora. I want you and I don't care about the pack. Plus they are in no position to choose a mate for me. Is that clear?” “What do I do, Lora?” I asked my wolf because I felt that she would be able to give me the best advice. After all, I've read a book and the author says it always turns out well when we listen to our wolves and ask them for advice. “Well, to me, he sounds very sincere. I think you should accept him,” She answered and I exhaled slowly. “Are you sure about this? I don't want to regret it later,” “Trust me, you won't. Alpha Zade sounds like a nice guy,” “Axel was a nice guy too from the beginning” I said through gritted teeth. “Now you are mistaken. He was never a nice guy to us. I tried pointing it out to you, but you were so blindly in love with him that you ignored me,” She whispered and I let out a deep breath. She was right. Axel was never in love with me. He only made me feel like he loved me and I was too foolish to believe that he did. If he did, I doubt that he would have changed towards me just because I couldn't give him a child. He would have loved me the same way he did from the beginning, right? “Take your mind off him, Lenora. He is in our past now,” I nodded. “You are right. He is in our past and so is Melissa. So is Matilda. They can all go to hell,” I was jerked back to life when I heard the sound of fingers snapping. It was Zade. “So what do you say? Are you going to accept me?” “I won't lie to you, Zade, I don't know what to say. I am just scared of getting hurt at the end,” He brought his palms to my face and palmed it. “I understand your fears. I don't know what went wrong between you and your former mate, but please I just want you to know that you can trust me. Don't judge me based on how he treated you. We are two different souls, okay?” I'll give him the benefits of the doubt and see how it goes then. “Okay,” His lips curved into a huge smile and the next minute, he threw his arms around me and pulled me into a bear hug. He hugged me like his life depended on me. Even though it was suffocating, it felt good. I can't remember the last time I was hugged this way. I can't even remember the last time Axel hugged me. “Thank you so much, Lenora. Thank you. You have no idea how happy you just made me. Thank you for giving me a chance,” I couldn't help it when a smile appeared on my face. Maybe just maybe, he will be different from that ass hole. I willed myself to hug him back. “You are welcome, Zade,” After what felt like forever, he pulled away from the hug. “You have nothing to worry about, okay? I'll treat you better than any man have ever treated you,” “And I can't wait,” I teased him. A low chuckle escaped his lips. “You are such a tease, baby girl,” He said as he gave my cheeks a small pinch. “Shall we go home?” He asked, but I shook my head and his brows constricted into a frown. “Why? What's wrong?” He panicked and it brought a smile to my face. “Come on, Zade. There is no reason for you to panic. I just wanted you to tell me what you were doing out here earlier,” I heard him sigh and I knew that it was a sigh of relief. He cleared his throat before starting. “Well, I was only taking a walk,” “On the grounds of your archenemy's pack? Were you trying to trespass or something?” I asked and the next minute, a blush crept its way to his face. It was so funny, watching as he blushed like a teenager standing in front of his crush. “It's…It's not what you think,” He stuttered and I had to stop myself from laughing. “Then tell me what it was,” “Promise me that you won't get mad?” He asked and I nodded my head. “I promise, Zade. I won't. Now tell me,” “Well, the thing is this, I do come here to watch you,” “How often?” “Everyday. I've been doing it for the past two months,” My eyes almost bulged out of its sockets as I heard his words. “You come here everyday just to watch me?” He nodded. “Yes, Lenora,” He answered. “Are you mad at me?” “Of course not, Zade. I'm not mad in any way. I just want to know why you would take such a risk, knowing fully well that you don't get pretty well with Axel. What if he had seen you?” “He wouldn't have known that I was the one. I always wear a mask,” “Now tell me, why do you keep taking such risks?” “I'll do anything just to see you, Lenora. I don't care if it causes a war between me and that brute, but I just had to do it” I was finding this confusing. For the past two months he has been leaving his pack and coming down to Axel's pack just to watch me. He was Axel's greatest rival and what if Axel had caught him during those times? “Why?” A blush appeared on his face again. “Would you believe me if I told you that I fell in love with you some years ago?” A frown crept its way to my face. “You fell in love with me?” He nodded. “Yes. In fact, I have been in love with you four years now,” “Four years?” “Yes, Lenora. I fell in love with you the first time I set my eyes on you and that was at the Mask Ball which took place in the Royal City of Tyrone,” He answered with a small smile on his face. “You have been in love with me since then?” “Sadly, yes. And I wanted to go after you and make you mine, because I couldn't get you off my mind, no matter how much I tried. Boom, I found out that you were Axel's mate. You need to see how pissed I was at the moon goddess,” He chuckled. I couldn't believe my ears. I could vividly remember how our first meeting was. One of the servers had accidentally poured her wine on me, but Axel was too busy to notice as he was with Alpha Elijah and other Alphas too. Zade saw how I was trying to get the stain off my gown, and he opted to take me to the restroom to help me change. I didn't see any harm in letting him help me, thus I agreed. I could vividly remember how my skin tingled due to his touch and how his suit smelled when he placed it around me. I would be a liar if I said I didn't feel any sparks within me that day. I spent the night thinking about his touch and his scent. It was intoxicating and heavenly. It's also funny that Axel didn't care that I had a strange suit on my body. He felt that I had brought it with me when coming to the Ball. “Oh my goodness, Zade. You have been in love with me since then,” I stated and he chuckled. “Yes, Lenora and now I'm filled with joy at the fact that you are in my arms and you are mine too,” Before I could stop myself, I jumped into his arms. I'm sure as hell that if he hadn't noticed me, we would have both fallen on the hard ground. “You are unbelievable, Zade. You have been in love with me for four years and you didn't tell me about it. You kept it within you,” I giggled as I wrapped my arms around him. After a while, we pulled away from the hug. “Let's go home,”Hi lovelies, please don't forget to leave a comment if you are enjoying this book. I need to hear your thoughts on my book. Xoxo 💋
Lenora Zade took my hands in his as he led me to his car that was parked across the road. A man dressed in black suit rushed forward to open the door, but Zade shook his head, indicating that he'll do it and the guard bowed, before walking back to the car. With a huge smile on his face, he opened the car door for me and I got in, muttering my thanks. I didn't even realize that there was a driver inside the car already. He got in too and immediately, the driver started the car. A thought suddenly popped into my head. Even though he had told me not to worry about anything, I just couldn't help it. Clearing my throat, I started. “So tell me, Zade, are you sure that your pack is gonna accept me?” I asked him. He took my hands into his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Why are you worried, baby girl? You don't have to worry about being accepted by them or not. They have no choice than to—” “No, Zade. I don't think I can bear it if they don't accept me. What if they see me as a spy
Zade As soon as we walked into our bedroom, Lenora turned to me, her eyes glinting with curiosity. “Zade, what was going on downstairs? Who is Zariel to you and what did he mean?” My lips curved into a reassuring smile. All I was trying to do was to downplay the situation. “Nothing, baby girl. Zariel was just being his usual dramatic self. Don't listen to him,” “I see,” She nodded and I sighed in relief, but it was short lived because the next minute she raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical, as if she was contemplating on believing me it not. “But what did he mean? What truth was he talking about?” She asked again. I chuckled lightly, trying to brush off her questions. “Honestly, baby girl, I have no idea what he was rambling about and even if I did, I wouldn't worry about it. You are my mate and that's all that matters,” Lenora looked unconvinced, but she didn't press the issue further. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. I wasn't expecting her to give up so soon. “
Zade I walked into the living room still fuming with my encounter with that brute. The guards handed the phone and I answered after composing myself. I wouldn't want my mother to know that I was in a bad mood. She wouldn't stop pestering me until she knew what was wrong. “Hello, mother,” I said, while forcing a smile to my face even though I knew that she couldn't see me. “Zade, my son! How are you and how have you been?” My mother's warm and melodious voice replied and instantly my frazzled nerves were soothed. “I'm fine, mother. How are you doing too?” “You don't even bother to call me. What kind of son are you?” She huffed and I could only chuckle. “I'm sorry mother. I've been going through some kind of shits and it's really driving me crazy,” “What's wrong? Is there a problem with you?” She asked, concern laced on her voice. It brought a smile to my face. She gets worried over the tiniest things. “Just dealing with some pack business,” I replied, not wanting to wo
Lenora's POV 'Don't feel special because the Alpha is being sweet with you. He would discard you soon, just like he has discarded the other women that he has been with,’ The maids' voice replayed in my head over and over again. No matter how much I tried to shake it away, it just wouldn't go. Even though I just met Alpha Zade not up to a day, I couldn't tell why I was hurt by what that maid had said. Wait a minute, what if I am just overreacting by being angry? “Of course not, Lenora. You are not overreacting in any way. It's normal for mates to become jealous when they get to know that their mates have been with someone else–” “I'm not jealous,” I cut her off. How can she say I was jealous when I just met him? It's not even up to a day. I just hate the fact that the maid had to spell it out to me. She really didn't have to. “Argh!” I gritted my teeth in anger while pulling my hair. “Take it easy, girl. You are gonna end up with a burning scalp,” Zoey chided me soft
Lenora's POV The maid tried to hit me back, but at that point, the door swung open and someone walked in, causing her hands to freeze mid-air. I tilted my head to the side to see who it was. It was a man, someone I hadn't seen before. He stands tall at around 6'4" with a robust, athletic build that somehow commanded attention. His broad shoulders and chiseled chest are evident even under his clothes. Just one glance at him, one would tell that he has been working out tirelessly. His biceps are well-defined. He has piercing blue eyes that sparkle with warmth and a straight proportional nose that adds to his overall symmetry. “What's going on here?” His voice boomed over the room and instantly, the maid brought her hand down. Even though I didn't know the man, I could tell that he was someone whom one shouldn't mess with. The aura emanating from him was unmistakable. Hence the reason why the maid looked scared already. She cleared her throat before starting. “Greetin
Lenora's POV Oh my gosh! I can't seem to remember the way to my room anymore! I couldn't even go back to the kitchen. Therefore, I decided to find my way to my room. It doesn't matter if I have to go through every room, one after the other until I find mine. I roamed through the unfamiliar hallway, like someone who lost her way. “Of course you did.” My wolf whispered and I burst into laughter. I couldn't help it. “You are not even helping matters at all, Zoey,” I said amidst my chuckles. “I'm as confused as you. I don't know anywhere around, therefore I can't help you. I'm sorry, okay?” “Yeah, I'll try. It's gonna take a long time, but I'll try my best. We will try” I muttered under my breath as I continued to walk away. All the doors in this estate were identical, so it's gonna be hard to locate my room, but I was determined to try. I took the stairs and stopped right in front of a door. Before I knew it, I pushed open the door and slipped inside. At that point, I reali
Lenora's POV Alpha Zade stood before me, stark naked, his chiseled physique on full display. My eyes darted wildly around his body, taking in the tattoo that covered part of his chest and left arm. His tattoo was the same as the symbol I had seen on the signboard earlier. ‘Two daggers crossed over its forehead, their blades adorned with ancient runes.’ Alpha Zade's tattoo, a symbol of his Pack's heritage, seemed to glow in the room's dim light, a reminder of his strength and authority and power. My gaze kept drifting back to his groin, where his huge dick seemed to be staring at me, making it hard for me to concentrate. A low rumble escaped his lips and I felt my face burning with embarrassment as I tried to tear my eyes away from his member, but they seemed to have a mind of their own. “Alpha…. Alpha Zade!” I stuttered, trying to compose myself, but just like the first time, my eyes betrayed me, drifting back to his naked body, tracing the outlines of his chest, h
Lenora's POV The next morning, I woke up to the gentle tapping on the door, the sound echoing through the room. I stretched and yawned, but I didn't have any plans to leave the bed because I assumed that it was Alpha Zade. I didn't want to face him. At least not after what happened last night. I don't think I can face him this early. “Who is there?” I asked just to make sure he wasn't the one. “Good morning my Luna. This is Lucia, the head maid,” Lucia said with a warm voice. My lips curved into a smile when I realized that it wasn't Alpha Zade. I tossed off the covers and swung my legs over to the side of the bed, feeling the soft and plush carpet beneath my feet. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I made my way to the door. I opened it to find Lucia standing in the hallway, a warm smile on her oval shaped face. “Good morning, Ma'am Lucia–” “Please call me Lucia,” She cut me off, that warm smile still on her face. “Sure, Lucia. What can I help you with?” “I'
Lenora's POV All I wanted at that moment was for the ground to open up and swallow me. I can't believe that he's been standing there and listening to our conversation. I really had no idea that he was there. Heck! I didn't even hear him walk in. And I'm sure as hell that Luna Ophelia didn't hear him walk in either. “It's not a good thing to eavesdrop, Zade.” Luna Ophelia scolded, though her face beamed with smiles. “I'm sorry, mother, but I couldn't help it, but I was glad that I did.” He winked at her, before taking his attention back to me. “So tell me, my Luna, do you love me?” I tried to duck my head behind my hair like I always do whenever I was blushing, and as if sensing my next action, his hands came under my chin to stop me. “Do you love me?” He sneered. He wouldn't give up easily, therefore I decided to answer him. “Yes, Zade.” I whispered quietly. This wasn't the first time that I was confessing my love for him, but it felt different because Luna Ophelia was right
Lenora's POV “Shut up, Talia.” Luna Ophelia hissed through gritted teeth before taking her attention back to me. She took a step closer. “Tell me the truth, Lenora, did you kiss him?” I cleared my throat before starting. “First of all, Luna, it's not what it seems. I can explain if you want me to….” “There is nothing to explain, bitch. You kissed him. I saw everything. I even brought a proof, because I know that you were going to lie about it. You are a two-faced whore. You….” Before she could finish her statement, my palms collided with her face. She looked stunned. “Did you just slap me, bitch?” She hissed through gritted teeth as she roughly caressed her face, her eyes almost glistening with tears, but it was gone the moment she blinked her eyes. “Of course, Talia and I will do it again and again if you don't stop talking. Now get out of here.” I snapped. “You can't send me away. This is Zade's house and I am his first love.” She snapped and all I could do was roll my eyes
Lenora's POV The world narrowed to the heat of his mouth, the roughness of his grip, the shock that froze me in place. It wasn’t just an ordinary kiss….it was a claim. A brutal and unapologetic one. “What are you doing, Lenora? Come to your fucking senses!” Zoey's screams pulled me out of my head and almost immediately, I tore my lips away from his. And the next minute, my palms collided with his face. “Are you fucking crazy?” I hissed through gritted teeth. He didn't even look remorseful at what he did. Instead he took his hands to his face and palmed it in a tender way. “How dare you kiss me?” “Fuck, that was new!” He winked while licking his lips. All I felt was anger. I wished I could slap him again. “The next time you lay those filthy hands on me, Derek, I'll make sure you never use them again.” I spat again and I tried to walk away from him, but he held my hands in a way that I couldn't move it. “Let go of me, Derek!” I yelped in pain, but he didn't bulge. Instead
Talia's POV “Are you going to let that bitch go, after embarrassing you before Lady Lydia and that shop attendant, huh ?” My wolf asked me for the umpteenth time, but I couldn't answer. Heck, I couldn't form any words. How could I answer when I was still seething with anger? I was fucking furious and I wished I hadn't walked away without hitting her. That bitch! How could she do such a thing? Well, it's not too late. Was I going to let her go easily after what she did to me? No fucking way! She embarrassed me before Lady Lydia and other people in the mall and I'm gonna make her pay for everything, but how? Zariel has been unreachable for the past few days! He's the only one who can help me out with the best idea for a punishment, but the fool is nowhere to be found. Anyways, it'll be better if he's dead. He's driving me crazy every minute."How about taking a quick break in the meantime? Maybe stop at that canteen? You know, sometimes stepping away is the best way to clear
Lenora's POV The scent of paper and ink wrapped around me like a cloak as I stepped into the bookstore, a quiet refuge from the noisy city outside. The bell above the door chimed softly, announcing my arrival. My fingers trailed along the spines of well loved novels as I made my way deeper inside, my heart already thrumming with anticipation of getting my favourite book. I had spent weeks counting down to this day. Marietta, my favorite author, had announced her newest release on social media, and the moment the announcement went live, I marked the date in my calendar, already eager to get it. “Auctioned To My Alpha Professor.” The title alone sent a thrill through me. Heaven knows I couldn't wait to read it. I couldn't wait to read another masterpiece from her. And now, finally, it was here. The thought alone sent a wave of pleasure and excitement through me. Behind the counter sat an elderly woman, her silver hair pulled into a neat bun, and a pair of medicated glasses pe
Lenora's POV “Good day, ma'am, and welcome to Chrome Heart Shopping mall.” The sales representative said to me as soon as I got into the mall and I smiled softly at her. “Good day to you.” I asked, my eyes darting around the mall in search of anything that might catch my attention. “What would you like to get?” She asked me and I took my attention back to her. I might just trust her to show me the best gifts they have here. “Well, I'd like to get some bags, shoes and dresses too.” I answered with a smile as usual. “Trust me, ma'am, you are at the right place.” She smiled warmly at me. “Come with me.” She gestured and I walked behind her. Mara had long gone to the other section to get what she needed. “Awwwn!” I cooed as I saw a necklace that was out on display and immediately it caught my eyes. It reminded me of the Mountain Heart Necklace, the same one that Axel had ‘stolen’ from Charlotte. “Do you like it, ma'am?” The young lady asked and I nodded. “Of course
Lenora's POV Two hours. That’s how long it had been since the guard burst into Zade’s study, breathless with warnings of a rogue attack. Two hours since he’d vanished into the day without a backward glance. I paced the room, my fingers twisting together. The mind link….our lifeline….remained silent, no matter how desperately I reached through the bond. Where are you? Every second stretched into an eternity. If the rogues had ambushed him… if they’d found a way to sever our connection… I swallowed hard. He has to come back. I walked towards Luna Ophelia's direction. “Do you think he's fine?” I asked her for the umpteenth time and she took my hands into hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Come on, Nora,” she chuckled lightly. Somehow, I've come to love the fact that she addresses me as Nora. It reminds me of my mom. She was the only one who has ever called me that name. And whenever someone else tried to call me that name, I always got angry, but right now, I wasn't pisse
Axel’s POV The sharp crack of Melissa's slap still burned on my cheek long after the door slammed shut behind her. The sting from her hit was nothing compared to the venom in her words. ‘Go your barren woman if you are horny.’ I exhaled through my nose, my fingers flexing against my thighs. My wolf snarled in the back of my mind. “You went too far, Axel.” “Shut up,” I shot back, but he didn’t. He never did, until he let out his anger. “She carries your child, you fool. She is carrying your heir. And you throw Lenora’s name in her face like it’s nothing?” I clenched my jaw. He wasn't wrong, but he wasn't right either and that was the problem. My wolf despised Melissa from the moment I cheated on my former mate with her. He claimed she was selfish and stupid and not fit to be the mother of my heir, he wanted to wait until whenever the moon goddess blesses Lenora, but even he couldn't stomach this. He couldn't stomach the fact that I tattooed Lenora's name on my neck some days
Melissa's POV In no time, I arrived at Alpha Axel's door and I wanted to knock, but I decided against it. It may come off as a rude act, but who cares? He's my mate after all. Taking a deep breath, I pushed the door. "You sent for me, Alpha." I announced as soon as I got into his chambers and he turned from the window, to be able to stare at me, and like always, my brain short-circuited for a second. It wasn't fair, really. I mean some people had to work hard for that kind of presence- gym routines, expensive cologne, carefully styled hair but Axel just existed even without trying and the world bent around him. It just occurred to me that I haven't admired this way in a long time. Well, he was tall, though not in an exaggerated, storybook way, but in that stand-next-to-him-and-feel-your neck-craning kind of way. His shirt sleeves were rolled up to his forearms, revealing the kind of muscle that came from actual labor, not just lifting weights for show. There was a faint sc
