Reyna could barely get any sleep that night. Her mind kept reeling from the after effects of her anger. She had arranged a meeting with William way too soon just because she wanted to spite Nicholas and she had gone out of her way to hit him. She had never, in all the years they were married, raised her hand to hit him.

Her mind went back to the day, six years ago, when she had announced her pregnancy to him. She thought back to the heated argument that had ensued before he had raised his hand to hit her. The sting of the betrayal she had felt still hurt more than the sting of the slap.

She didn’t regret hotting him though, she only regretted not doing it any sooner. She had endured so much under him. She had been with him when everyone around them frowned on their relationship. She had been there with him at his lowest and had stood by him and helped him get back on his feet.
