Jacob’s POV:

“Are you even listening to me Jacob? You have been sitting there numb to all that I have been saying to you without saying a single word or even as much as give me a glance, what is the matter with you?!” Elora screamed at me from my behind.

I had sat down right in front of her as she kept ranting on and on about how inattentive I had become over the weeks and how ‘uncaring’ I now was; I really didn’t care though but there was no way I would say that to her.

In truth she had been going on endlessly about a lot of things which at that moment, I cared less about, so I just sat lost in my own thoughts for I was tired of all her unending and incessant nagging which was all she had been doing for a while.

It pissed me off all the time when she did that and it was no different then so instead of reacting angrily at her, I just ignored her as I entertained my own thoughts in mind.

“Jacob?” Elora called out to me, shoving me gently on my shoulder as she breaks me from my stream

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 89

Audrey’s POV:Back at the dungeon, I sat down frustrated, trying relentlessly to free myself from the shackles that bound my hands and legs. I had grown really frustrated with everything that had happened; from the events with the council elders at the court and even Erik’s disturbing glances at me. I had barely spoken much since the elders decided that I was guilty without granting me a proper trial to hear my own plea. I was certain that there was nothing I could do to prove my innocence as they all were bent on ending me so I did not bother to put up any fight at all, I just remained calm as they dragged me back to the dungeon.Seated there, since there was nothing I could do, I simply began to entertain the idea of an escape somehow. I started to work tirelessly to unlock the chains around my wrist first. I twisted and squeezed with the hope that my powers would return to me and shatter the metals. As that seemed not to work at all, I bit with my teeth but that also was not mu

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 90

Audrey’s POVI woke up to find myself lying on the floor with my body completely drenched in water. I tried to sit up but I could feel my head spin so I held it with both my hands, my chains clashing together. As I struggled to revive, I wiped water off my face, my shackles clanging noisily. I tried to remember the events before then and I recalled being taken out of my cell room and to the courtroom where I was told by Erik and the nurse responsible for Kaden’s care that Kaden had died. I could still hear the nurse’s voice breaking the news to me ringing in my mind’s ear and it brought a feeling of sadness to me, my atmosphere suddenly changing. I could not know for sure if Erik had killed Kaden as I suspected he would do or if Kaden had truly died from his condition, all I knew was that he was dead, taking my only hope of freedom and survival along with him. My sadness overwhelmed me as I thought of Kaden and soon I burst out in hard sobs.“Oh Kaden!” I called out, letting out my

Audrey's POVI couldn't understand why Erik wouldn’t stop plotting against me, and now he had won me in the presence of that obnoxious council.I wrapped my arms around my body and squeezed myself into a dark corner of the cell, knowing fully well that today was the day of my death. A voice caught my attention and when I stood up, I immediately squealed in shock because there was someone hovering over me and it was no other person but Kaden himself."What are you doing here?" Kaden inquired as he tried to free the silver shackles off my wrists. I watched him quietly, observing how he struggled with the object."Well I'm serving the punishment for your death I guess and I'm satisfied with this punishment I guess, but I still have the feeling that you would open your eyes one day, but when you open them, just know that I was killed for your sake simply because your cousin decided to frame me up and kill you in order to have your throne.”“I know you never trusted him though but be more

Audrey’s POV:I could not believe what I was seeing, or who I was seeing rather. It had to be a dream, it just had to be. Kaden, whom everyone thought was dead, just stood there looking at everyone but me especially. I blinked my eyes twice thinking that it was just my imagination playing a trick on me, but Kaden still stood there. I raised my shackled hands to my face to rub both my eyes and when I opened them, he still stood there of course. I thought this had to be some trick most definitely or that I was simply running mad. I still could not believe it for ever since he was hospitalized, ever since he was pronounced dead, and considering with little strength in me, I had been having visions of Kaden; especially when I was told he had died. Sometimes I even saw him appear in front of me just as I was seeing that moment so it was difficult to believe he was actually there. I tried hard to rid my mind and eyes of the image of him there but he failed to vanish as he always did the

Audrey’s POV:I was euphoric about my newly earned freedom; so happy that amidst what I had imagined to be my brutal end turned out to be sort of another chance given. The thought of being vindicated from all that I had gone through and most especially the problem with the council elders filled my heart with immeasurable joy. I was also happy about Kaden’s survival, for a minute I thought I had lost him forever but it seemed unlikely as he turned out to be my hero after all.I pulled Kaden into a hug, not being able to have enough of him. Reveling in the good feeling of being in his arms after a long time, far too long; I remained there for a while. He knew this too and he comfortably accommodated me every time I threw myself at him. It was obvious that he had missed being with me too but not as much as I had missed being in his arms, I thought. Having just one thing in my mind now, I finally broke off from the hug and looked up to his eyes. I was willing to make everything right an

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 94

Audrey’s POV:Fear was the only feeling that I felt as Shantel pointed her gun at us. I knew that Shantel would not pull the trigger on Kaden which meant that she only wanted to shoot at me and that was why Kaden had pulled me behind him to protect me in the first place. It scared me though that Shantel who was obviously unstable could pull the trigger on impulse and out of her anger. Kaden tried to persuade Shantel to lower the gun so they could talk about whatever the problem was but she would have none of it, she was just bent on killing me. Kaden then began to plead with her, sweet talking her into listening to him.“Shantel please listen to me. Come on, lower the gun please so we can talk about this okay?” he said to her as he took some step towards her to try convincing her to listen.“No! I won’t!” Shantel screams, shaking her head continuously. She seemed mad with anger and was going maniacal which made her unpredictable; she refused to give in to Kaden’s pleas, instead, she

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 95

Audrey's POVHaving escaped from Shantel's threat, I was sick worried that she would definitely love to be in this position again, making us to be at her mercy, and if that happens again there would be no listening to our words or lowering the gun. I knew she would take her shot after we just deceived her into lowering her guard down. I guess she would be full of regrets after listening to us. This was quite what I never wanted."That was close, she would have taken her shot if given the chance" Alpha Kaden sighed as he wore his robe, I knew he was definitely going out to address some issues precisely about Shantel's behavior and obsession towards him. "She would have definitely loved to put that bullet through my skull… I wasn’t scared for you because I knew she wouldn’t do anything to you. But me…" I trailed off. I knew how weird Shantel could be and her intelligence was quite beyond, to have passed all the guards and walked into that part of the orchard without being spotted. She

Audrey’s POVI breathed out heavily as I raised my hand above my head and knocked on Kaden’s large mahogany door and almost as soon as I knocked, it flung open revealing Kaden with a newspaper in his hand and a reading glass sitting on his nose.Asides the low waisted joggers he was wearing, he was completely bare; I gulped.“Come on in!” He offered, gesticulating with his arm and as soon as he said those words, I didn’t wait for him to repeat himself before I stepped in quickly and shut the door behind me.The room was a mess. He had tons of books lying everywhere, ranging from his table to the floor and sofas. It looked too disorganized.“Why do you have so many books lying about?” I asked but when I turned to look in the direction he was once standing, I was shocked to see that he was no longer here.“Where is he?” I thought to myself but then sighed when I heard sounds coming from his bathroom, which signified that he was there.A few minutes later, he walked out of the bathroom l

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Epilogue

With my hands planted firmly on my waist, I stared confusedly at the two crying babies in front of me and no matter what I did or said to calm them down, nothing seemed to be working. Seemingly Lost in confusion and not knowing what to do, I tried hard to comfort the crying babies in front of me but they instead laid, crying tirelessly that at a point, I did not know what else to do for they could not stop crying. I carried one of them in my arms and began to rock it gently, the other laid in the crib built for the two babies. I continued this way, giving turns to each of them as I held them in my arms attempting to get them to fall asleep but they wouldn’t. That did little to make them quit though and I grew frustrated but I knew I could not give up. I had tons of work to do, a lot of paperwork also and the thought of attending to those immediately after dropping these kids filled me with so much tiredness that I felt I would drop dead. Since the takeover from Jacob, there

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 122

Audrey's POVFeeling happy and fulfilled that I had fulfilled my words and that I had been able to Kill Jacob in the exact way I had imagined it, I smiled to myself thinking of how this was the first time I felt like I had done something worth deserving as I stared down at his decapitated body which was now covered in a of his own blood, and could vividly see the hole I made on his heart.A smile got stuck on my lips and I couldn't let it go. I allowed it, wondering why Ian had this weird stare on me."You finally killed the predator, after being the prey for so long. You're taking over the predator's land." I muttered to myself as I stared at his blood dripping neck, making trails as I walked, I wanted them to see that I had killed Jacob and ended his reign of terror and destruction.I walked out to the corridor where she listened to the silent gasps and the scared look on the faces of the people.I held the head in my hands and showed it to the people."This marks the end of this he

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 121

Audrey's POVI knew Jacob was a bit surprised that I had smiles all over my face, despite the fact that he had a knife pressed on my neck.He was a bit stubborn and I wondered what I would say to him that would make him move the knife away from my neck despite all the white lies I had told him. It was a little confusing to watch him and the cynical smile on his face and at the same time, I was bothered because I knew he was psychotic and could do anything."You could just remove this knife, I would surely guarantee your safety." I said quietly as he pressed the knife deeper into my neck, it was hurting but I couldn't let out a tear, knowing that it would mean defeat and I hated being defeated by clumsy enemies such as Jacob. "Do you expect me to believe you?" He retorted sharply as he pressed the knife, adding a little force to it. When he wasn’t watching, I tilted my head slowly, in a bid to pull my neck away from the sharp blade. "Come on, you have my word, I would surely beg Kad

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 120

Kaden's POVI loved the fact that Logan had to turn against his pack, knowing fully well that Jacob turned them against him. Having killed some of his men, Logan grew tired of killing and felt like setting it amicably. They surrounded him as he let down his guard, he told his men to do the same as they all stopped fighting, Jacob's soldiers were afraid, I guess filled with that thought that they were just leading them to a trap."Why won't you fight us?" The Chief guard questioned as the guard paved the way for him to walk through. "I can't, we can keep on wasting our strength on each other when the real devil is up there watching us." Logan explained, wondering how Logan tends to make this work, it would be hard and it might get ugly. "What do you mean?" The Chief guard was confused. "Jacob is a man that would surely have you all killed if need be. He wouldn't hesitate to threaten the lives of your family if you dare flout his orders" Logan uttered, wearing a smile on his face, ho

Kaden's POVI felt uneasy, knowing that I had my reservations with Audrey's plot, but I had to give in, she had it all planned out and now that I thought about it, mine had loopholes. If we had attacked Jacob as I planned, he would have escaped or better still led us into one of his unforseen traps which would leave us in jeopardy; harming my men, weakening my manpower and having a strong hold on my resources. But with Audrey's plot, she handles on the inside, while we take care of his men outside which would make everything even and provide Jacob with an extremely slim chance of escaping or having to use someone as bait while trying to escape. "I just hope Audrey succeeds with her plan, I'll take care of these ones here with my own plan," I muttered to myself, knowing that my men were also waiting for my signal.I assured myself, rigging off every fear and trying to remain at peace as I waited for a signal to show that Audrey was in trouble. For now though, I hadn't felt any pa

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 118

AUDREY’S POVI waited for Jacob’s reply to my sarcastic but true comment about the palace but it did not come, the intent of it had not fazed him a bit I noticed and I began to wonder what went on through his mischievous mind. Jacob gently placed his arm around my back and I flinched at the feel of his strong arms around me but let him guide me to a chair close to his throne. Surprisingly he had not still said anything in reply to the view I had concerning the place, perhaps he had sensed the sarcasm in my voice even though I suspected that he knew what I said was true. He acted really sweet towards me while I acted according to the script I was writing in my mind.I sat down calmly on the chair he had offered me and he sat on the enormous throne. We started to talk and he asked about my trip there, asking if I had any troubles on my way. I sweetly replied to him, not forgetting to remind him of how I was capable of taking care of myself. I wondered why he and Kaden always felt that

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 117

Audrey’s POVDespite the anger I felt coursing through my veins and spiking up my nerves, I managed to force a smile as the soldier who stood guard at the door to the throne room opened the huge doors for me to pass through. I stepped into the room slowly as if expecting to be met with some kind of trap and then stopped at some point to take my first real glance at the expanse of the room and the striking view ahead of me. I marveled at the sheer beauty it emitted but couldn’t help but think about how it had lost its shine. The palace, even though ancient as it was, was one of the most mesmerizing views I had ever had the pleasure of seeing. It looked different from what I remembered it to be; the structures were getting old, the decorations were fading out, and what made the room gorgeous most was no longer there – the glitter of people laughing and cheering happily nonstop, in love and harmony. The memory of how the palace used to be filled with love and glamor when it was still m

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 116

Audrey's POVI sat with my hands folded in front of me as I had become more than a little tense due to how much I was wondering what Kaden wanted to tell me that made him keep me in a weird suspense. I hated the fact that my heart raced, hoping that the news wouldn't affect me, or have anything to do with Kaden or Shantel but then from the expression on his face, it was difficult to ascertain if the news coming was a bad one or a good one. I gulped.Filling my head with irrelevant thoughts, I was getting confused as I felt someone holding my left palm, Shantel tilted her head upwards and down, assuring me that all would be fine. I hearkened to her with the evidence of doubt still writhing in me."You're making me uneasy, what is it that you wanted to tell me?" I stuttered as Kaden bowed his head down as he said in a low tone;"I can't tell you, when she's around. She has to leave us, it's personal and urgent.""That won't be possible, Shantel says. If I deserve to listen to this new

  • The Revenge Of A Rejected Mate   Chapter 115

Audrey's POVI hated the fact that I had soiled my fingers trying to take down a guard, knowing that this was a test to show my strength and skills which I knew I didn't have. I just wanted to be able to fight off my enemies with my hands and legs in combat, which would be to my advantage and would come in handy whenever I would need to protect myself, knowing fully well that this was dark times and that Kaden's soldiers were dying in their numbers. It was hard to believe it, but they would just go missing and their dead body would be found, wondering what he was planning or his plans on how to catch this culprit that has murdered many men. I knew this was a plot to reduce Kaden's man power, and it was working effectively. Jacob knew this, and was using it to his advantage. "You're doing quite well, keep it up" Shantel said to me even though I knew I wasn’t doing any good. I knew that she was only being helpful, the smile on her face said the words she was hiding. This was her wa
