At Laura's House

If crying could change anything, she had cried enough to retain her job.

“Mom and Dad, everyone did well except me. That wicked Tim had put me into trouble,” she wailed.

“Don't mention that unfortunate man here. Remembering him is nauseating,” her father blurted out.

“Forget about him. He got what he deserved. I'm happy that you suffered a miscarriage and no child of his will remind us of him,” her mother added.

“Your mother is right. He will not be remembered because of the evil he did to you.”

Laura was aware of her lies against him but she was not remorseful and lied, “I would have scaled through the Aptitude Test if not for him.”

“You are right. I advise that you look for another job since this has failed,” her father advised her.

“It means we will leave this house. It is theirs,” she made clear.

Her parents' countenance changed at once. They just realized that Tim's application got their daughter her job and the accommodation.
