104. Pay Back Time 36

The Personnel Manager got to the secretary's office and met her sitting hopelessly.

“Good morning, Capt. Jaja,” she greeted him.

He scanned her countenance before he responded, “Good morning, Secretary.”

Afterward, he returned to his office.

After a while, she got an email from Capt. Jaja and she read it at once. She had hoped for a dismissal but the redeployment to the lobby as an Assistant Front Desk Officer was not the best for her either.

She bent down and allowed her tears to flow freely. Gilbert had learned to mind his business. The last time he showed concern over her swollen head, she answered him curtly and he was not happy with it.

“This is Stephanie's wish. To take over as the President's secretary,” she murmured.

Notwithstanding her state of mind, Capt. Jaja walked in with Bright who was smiling from ear to ear.

“Good morning,” he greeted Laura and Gilbert warmly.

“Good morning, Sir,” Gilbert responded, and before Laura could look up, Capt. Jaja opened the President's
