With Jerry's approval, Barbara did not bother to question his movement. Likewise, Laura was occupied with the thought of how to defend herself in court since no lawyer agreed to stand for her. Therefore, she did not notice him. Even if she did, she would not have recognized him.

At The Gatehouse

Cpl. Simpson was aware that George and the other managers would be having their weekly meeting and dared not disturb him. Apart from the meeting, the Captain's request was absurd and unworthy of his attention.

“Kindly take your seat, Captain,” he informed him.

Without a response, he sat on the three-seater stainless chair and crossed his legs. Now, the time was a few minutes to 10 AM. To fulfill all righteousness, he dialed the General Manager's landline.

“Hello, Corporal. How may I help you?” The clerk asked him.

“Hello, Clerk. I wish to speak with the boss,” he said to the hearing of the Captain.

“He is out for his weekly meeting.”

“I see. Thank you for informing me,” he said and cut the cal
