The guard was unaware of what transpired at the inner gate and suggested, “I propose that you go back to the gate and request to speak with the President.”

“Or the General Manager,” another guard chipped in.

The smile on his face disappeared immediately. Seeing the President was out of his ideas especially when the Major had said that he could be an accomplice of Gen. Hanklin. Besides, he just left the General Manager.

He concluded that the young soldiers wished to harsh his mellow and forwent his car.

“Have a nice day,” he simply said and walked away.

The first guard pouted while their leader giggled as they watched him walk away in despondency.

“What did he come to the complex to do in the first place?” A soldier asked his colleagues.

“Who knows?”
