Chapter 1

Laura Marcus got a phone call from her mom, “hello mom” Laura said, “how are you doing mom?“ she said,

“I'm good” her mom, Mrs Marcus said, “how Is your job?“ she asked,

“I'm good mom” Laura retorted,

“We organized family gathering this Christmas, and all the members of the family Is going to be there, and It's going to be amazing” her mom Mrs Marcus explained, “and do you know what?“ she asked,

“What Is It” Laura said,

“You must be present, and every members of the family will awaits you at the gathering” her mom said,

“Okay, I will definitely come” Laura said,

“Your coming to the gathering Is going to be amazing” her mom said, “when you are coming, don't forget to come along with Mr right, my favorite wine, and a eighteen Inches lenght wig” she explained,

“Alright mom” Laura said,

“Can I expect you before that day?“ her mom asked,

“It might be be possible, but I have alot of job at hand In my office” Laura explained,

“okay, no problems, take care of yourself” her mom said, and she ended up with the phone conversations, and she drops her phone Inside her handbag, and she round up for the days job, and she picked up her handbag, and the car keys,

Lauren had just left work and was driving home when her mind started to wander. She was lost in thoughts about the stress of her job, her family, and the upcoming family gathering. In a matter of seconds, she realized too late that she had lost control of her car and hit an elderly man who was walking to the next street.

"Oh my god!" Lauren shouted as she slammed on the brakes and screeched to a halt. "I didn't see you!" Lauren said,

The man lay motionless on the ground but Lauren could see he was breathing. In a panic, she jumped out of her car and called an ambulance. Then, she rushed over to the man and knelt beside him, trying to get him to say something.

"Sir, can you hear me?" Lauren asked.

The man opened his eyes and said in a weak voice, "I think so. What happened?"

"I hit you with my car," Lauren said, feeling a wave of guilt wash over her. "Can you move anything? Are you in pain?"

The man tried to sit up but winced in pain. "My leg and my arm. It hurts a lot," he said, looking up at Lauren with tears in his eyes. "Please help me."

Lauren's heart broke at the sight of the old man's pain. She couldn't believe she had caused such a terrible accident. She knew that she had to do something to make things right.

"I'll take you to the hospital," Lauren said. "Just hold on, okay?"

Lauren carefully lifted the man into the back seat of her car and rushed him to the hospital. She parked outside the emergency room and ran inside, looking for a doctor.

"Excuse me!" Lauren shouted. "I need help!"

A nurse rushed over and asked, "What's wrong?"

"I hit an elderly man with my car," Lauren said, trying to hold back her tears. "I brought him here. He's hurt badly."

The nurse took Lauren to a room where doctors were treating the old man. After the hospital staff assessed the man's injuries, he was admitted for surgery, and they told Lauren that he would have to stay overnight.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause this," Lauren said, tears streaming down her face.

"It's alright," said one of the doctors. "You did the right thing by bringing him here. The patient is stable now, and we'll do everything we can to help him recover."

Lauren spent the night at the hospital, feeling remorseful and heartbroken. She couldn't stop thinking about the old man and the pain she had caused him. Her guilt was so overwhelming that she hardly slept all night.

Early the next morning, Lauren walked Into the doctor's office to check on the man's condition. She was relieved to find out that the surgery had gone well, and the man would make a full recovery in a few weeks.

Laura asked If the doctor find any phone with the old man?“

“Yeah, the phone Is Inside my office” the doctor retorted,

“Can we call his family or any of his close associates” Laura asked,

“Yeah, that's a good Idea” the doctor said,

“okay, come with me” the doctor said,

Laura and the doctor walked Into the doctor's office where they called his family, and a few minutes later, the old man and her son came In to the hospital demanding to see Mr Morgan,

“calm down, calm down, Mr Morgan Is fine, he's fine” the doctor said,

“Where Is he, what happened to my husband?“ Mrs Morgan asked while his son named Clifton, “mom, calm down, let's see dad” Clifton said,

Mrs Morgan and her son went to see her husband Mr Morgan, and when she saw him on the hospital bed, tears was streaming down from her eyes, and his son Clifton was calming her down,

Laura walked Into the hospital ward, and she noticed a matured man of about thirty six years of age, with phisically fit,, and handsomely perfect, but he doesn't have care, his looks was tattered, and his dressing seems not modern, but he's medically fits,

Laura has been carried away because he was busy stylishly staring at Clifton,

A call came Into Laura's phone, and she quickly picked the phone, “hello aunt” Lauren responded, “hoe are you ma?“ She asked,

“I'm good Laura” her aunt retorted,

“I wanted to call you yesterday about Kate wedding, but I was In the middle of something crucial, but when I'm with It, I will call you today or tomorrow” Laura said,

“If you are coming to Kate wedding, make sure you with that man you tell me the other day we chatted last” her aunt said,

“That's not a problem” Laura said,

“Is that a promise?“ her aunt asked,
