Chapter Twenty One

She whimpered clutching at a lamppost for support tears running down her cheeks, instinct told her to be quiet that Wolves had excellent hearing and she was making it easy for them to catch her. She did not care, it was all too much, she was exhausted from running, from being afraid and from living her life. She stopped at a bridge that went over a dark fast-flowing river her heart beating so fast she thought it would leap from her chest, this was it, this was her way out. No more abuse, no more beatings, no more fear, 'Please don't do this.' The voice in her head begged whimpering in terror, 'Melody please don't do this, he is not like them, he will never hurt you he is your fated mate and he will love you for all eternity.'
