Daisy’s POV

I woke up with a start. The sunlight filtering through the curtains. I blinked, momentarily disoriented.

The room became clearer, and I panicked, taking in the different layout of the room.

This wasn’t my room.

“You are awake,” Astrid commented, walking in with a cup in hand.

“I brought you here after you had fallen asleep, I couldn’t drag you to your room, it was easier here,” she said, answering my unasked question.

“Thanks,” I whispered.

“But my room is,” I started to say, trying to process her excuse.

Astrid looked away in guilt, her eyes fixed on the floor avoiding my gaze.

“Astrid,” I called her silence making me anxious.

“I knocked on your door, but Hades refused to open,” she whispered.

My heart dropped at the revelation, Hades had purposely ignored her, not caring if I was safe or not.
