Fifty-four

KYRA'S POV

Logan stood up hastily, almost upsetting the chair. The steadying hand of his guard prevented it from falling over. Hands clasped behind his back, he paced the room, obviously agitated. My eyes followed his movement.

With a muttered 'Excuse me', he hastily opened the door and left the room. From the window, Ace and I saw him striding briskly away, his guards half running and struggling to keep up.

With a sigh, I turned to Ace.

"Rahl's exploits seems to have that effect on people, doesn't it?" I said dryly.

"Yes, it does."

Frowning, Ace picked up his fork, pushing the food on his plate around, not eating anything.

I placed a hand gently on his arm. "You always tell me not to worry, Ace. Now you're doing the same."

"Touche" he said, grinning and letting his fork fall back in the plate with a clatter. "I'm relaxed, see?" He spread out his arms.
