“Oh, come on, girl, it's been two years since your divorce, and you still can't forget that man. You should move on. That dude does not even live in this city, so you should forget about him. Why are you wasting time thinking about him? I took you to this club to boost your spirits, and have you forgotten about your accomplishments? We are here to celebrate, and you are just sitting here wearing an upset face.” Evelyn said.

“As you said, it is difficult. I only know what I've been going through. I still don't understand the reason. After so many years together, he doesn't trust me at all. How did he do this to me? I loved that man with all my heart, but in return, he gave me pain, suffering, loneliness, and divorce. He wasn't concerned about me at all. He should have at least trusted me. I can't believe that he don't believed me." Bella said.

As Bella expresses this, a drop of tears falls from her eyes, which Evelyn notices. She grabs her hand and stares at her.

“Look, Bella, two years is plenty of time to move on. You will have to go on since the person for whom you are suffering doesn't care about your tears, even if he loves you a little. If he was anxious after the divorce, he wouldn't have fled the city without having met you; he ran away from you. You need to forget him because he doesn't require your presence anymore. He might not even remember you, yet here you're shedding tears for him.” Evelyn said.

“You're correct; I have to forget him. I also do not want to meet him again. It would be best if we both avoided one another, since whenever he appears in front of me, all I can think about is my misery. The memories we had have become nightmares for me, which is why I can't sleep. You're right. I have stopped thinking about him. I have waited so long for him. I'm ready to move on now.” Bella said.

Evelyn grins and gives her a hug.

“I'm pleased for you; I'm glad you accepted, and today's drink is my treat." Evelyn said.

With this, Evelyn orders her drink, which arrives after some time. Bella had never drunk before; therefore, this was her first time. Bella wanted to live her life the way she wanted, and no one could stop her, not even her father or husband.

Both best friends enjoyed a drink together, and Bella felt lightness for the first time, as if a ton of weight had been lifted off her heart. She had been suffering from it for two years when her husband left her and brutally divorced her. While everything was going well between them, she couldn't comprehend at all. The reason was also known to her, but she knows that what her husband thinks of her is wrong since she is not what he thinks. Some are simply misconceptions, but Evan did not even give Bella a chance to clarify the misunderstanding. He left this city immediately after the divorce and has never returned, and Bella was not given her chance to explain.

Evelyn clutches Bella's hand and leads her to the dance floor. They were both inebriated and dancing to their own tune. Bella had never worn a revealing short dress before, but Evelyn insisted on it, so she agreed. Because of this, several guys in the club were gazing at her.

Both of them were dancing when they heard a loud sound from the front of the pub, where several customers had congregated. Both of them don't comprehend anything, so they head outside, where they witness a man mercilessly sitting on top of another man and pounding him on the ground, with blood constantly running from the man's lips. People around were yelling, but no one was coming to aid.

Then Bella heard a man's voice.

“The girl you're making filthy comments about is my wife. How could you utter such rubbish about my wife?” And with this, he strikes again. Bella is astonished since she recognizes the voice. The man's back was turned toward Bella, so she couldn't see his face. Fear was definitely apparent on Bella's face. She suspected who it was, and as the guy turned towards her, their gazes connected.

“Evan!” Bella Whispered.

This is the only thing she says before running away, and Evan follows her. Bella dashes outdoors, unsure which direction to go. She needed to avoid Evan at all costs. She did not want to face him. She had just recently resolved to let go of her past.

And now, her worst nightmare was there in front of her, which she was too terrified to confront.

Before she could reach her car, a hand grabbed her forearm and forced her to turn around, where she saw her Ex-husband with only wrath in his eyes. She attempts to extricate herself from his hold, but it is too tight because he is enraged right now.

“Please let go of my hand. Let me go. What do you want? “She whimpered.

“It would be best for you if you did not ask me any questions right now.” He angrily replied.

Without saying anything, he drags her toward his car. He unlocks the door to his car, pushes her inside, and locks it. He quickly sits in the driver's seat and starts the car's engine.

“Let me go from here. What do you want? Please let me out. Where are you bringing me? You cannot take me somewhere like this. Okay, we're divorced, so please stay away from Me.” she shouted.

“Just because the divorce is complete doesn't mean you should ruin my reputation like this. You will remain my wife whether we divorce or not, and when you are wearing these shorts, reveling in dresses, going to the club, and wooing other guys, you are destroying my reputation, which I won't ever let endure. I'll give you an unforgettable lesson today. How could you go to a club and party like this?” He shouted back.

“You have no rights over me. You understand, you are not my husband anymore. Let me get out of this car right now.” Bella stares at him. Her remarks reflected her wrath.

“You know how impatient I am, so don't push me too far, or you'll regret it,” he said while grinding his teeth.

“If you have such a problem with my going to clubs and partying, explain to me why you divorced me if you are concerned about your reputation,” she bitterly said.

“Because you cheated on me, and even with my own brother. Don't forget: you are a cheater, and you had an illicit relationship with my own brother while you were married to me. And you murdered our baby,” he shouted.

His statements include both pain and wrath. Bella is astounded by his statements since they are false charges.

“I have not done anything like that. You're misreading me. I never cheated on you or killed our baby. But (unwillingly, I did; indeed, I killed my own baby, she reasoned.) Why don’t you trust me? You didn't even give me the chance to explain. Evan, I'm still..." Before she can say anything further, he hits the brakes, and she glances ahead to see a building. They are now in the parking lot.

“You cheated on me, and you want me to accept your lies? How did you even think like this? You do not deserve an explanation because all you know is how to lie and cheat.” He said it with range.

“We're divorced; therefore, I don't even need to clarify. Please open the door. I have to leave; I cannot stay with you for even a second.” She said it in a cracking voice. Tears flow from her eyes.

“Of course, you will have problems with me, possibly because of me. You will always recall the sin you committed, but, ex, Mrs. Knight, I am not going to leave you that easy because I need to teach you a lesson,” he said.

With this, he unlocks his car door, moves to the other side, opens Bella's side door, holds her hand, and drags her inside the building. Bella strives hard but fails to extricate herself.

Evan and Bella enter the elevator and hit the button on the top level. They get to the top floor, and the entire floor is his. Evan leads Bella into the house and directly to his bedroom. And pushes her on the bed.

“What are you planning to do? “She asked in shock.

“The same thing a typical couple does. Although we are not a typical couple, we were once. There's a lot of heat inside you, right? I only want to get rid of that fire, so you never go to the club to entice other men again,“ he said with a cold tone.

“What nonsense are you saying?” she said.

With this, she stands up quickly and walks towards the door, which Evan had already locked. She tries to open the door, but Evan pins her to the door.

Evan does not give her a chance to explain before kissing her lips. This kiss was really sensuous and intense. He kissed her passionately. His rage was leaking forth. He bit her lower lip. Bella attempts to stop him. But perhaps she felt the same love for Evan in her heart, causing her to melt even at his touch. Despite his harsh remarks, her heart desired to adore Evan again, as it had for the previous two years. She craved for his love.
