Chapter 7

The day when we moved house, James stood at the door with a dark face.

"Catherine, do you think you're still a three-year-old? Why are you being so childish? I can't believe you're doing this just because I said something that you didn't like to hear."

I remained silent and stood outside my new house. I just watched the cleaner cleaning my house.

Laura seemed to be a little scared of James. She kept her arms wrapped around my legs the whole time.

Brenda, on the other hand, held a doll in her hand with a proud look on her face.

There was a ding, and the members of the Somerfield family walked out of the elevator.

They ignored me and walked straight into James's house. They hugged and kissed Brenda.

"Hey, darling, are you happy living with your dad?"

"Look at what Uncle Jacob bought you, Brenda?"

They only seemed to have remembered me a while later.

"What are you doing standing there? Go and make Brenda some food!" said Jacob.

'Well, looks like they really think I'm a nanny. D
