Anya (two days back)
She had returned earlier than expected. Opening the door to Andy’s house with her spare key, she entered the living room and made a beeline for the kitchen.
Andy would have left her favourite chai, the sweet tea latte in the flask.
She loved how thoughtful he was. Regardless of the stress he was dealing with, he would always be mindful of her needs!
Over the last few months his playfulness had consistently reduced due to the increasing pressures of his work life but he had not allowed that to affect his time spent with her.
She poured herself the chai and curled up on the couch in the living ro
Hey lovelies, There aren't any comments so I am not sure if anyone is reading. I know I have been inconsistent in updating. Apologies. This is a longish chapter. Hope whoever is reading enjoys it. I just thought that you might want to know what engagement Andy was referring to :-) Happy reading XX Next update next Wednesday
Andy He stepped into the flight and was welcomed by a pair of smiling air-hostesses in their beautiful deep red, almost purple outfits. One of them held out her hand for his pass, inspected it to find his seat and escorted him inside. She asked for his baseball jacket, reached up on her toes and tucked it away in the rack. Andy could not help but notice how toned her body was. “My name is Aisha. Happy to have you on board. Enjoy your flight, Sir!”, she said as she caught his stare. Are they trained to make you feel welcome and maybe a little extra comfortable, or was Aisha flirting with him? He brushed the amusing thought away as she went away to serve the others. Andy sighed seeing the single seat with the purple and cream upholstery lining the window. It was early in the morning and it was still dark outside. The previous night he had been up packing and watching his sexy fiance sleep. He hated being away from her for so long. Especially because of her crazy, risky assignments.
Anya She looked at her phone as Andy disconnected, promising her to call back. It was past midnight and he would be reaching sometime in the morning. She might as well sleep. But she was super charged. She looked at their bedroom. It looked empty without Andy. It wasn’t like she hadn’t stayed here alone before, neither was it like Andy had never stayed away. He had been away for a month before this. Yet, knowing how far away he was made it all the more difficult for her. She missed her boyish boyfriend. She tapped at the back of her head, “No silly! Your fiance!” She said aloud to herself and beamed. She repeated the word fiance, letting her lips purse as the word rolled off her tongue. It sounded scary, scarier than the bullet that almost hit her today. But it was happy and scary, she loved the apprehension. She couldn’t believe that after being alone for a lifetime, she was blessed with such a loving partner who understood her work and the uncertainties that came with it. Ex
She ran as fast as her feet could carry her. She was on the docks, the dark oily sea lapping against the steel pilings on one side while the abandoned warehouses with their broken, mangled structures lined the other end of the wharf. They looked like rickety monsters, with their glass eyes shot out, sporting a toothless hollow grin, dwarfing her. Her red, ornately embellished wedding dress, slowing her down. Her red dupatta (stole paired on an Indian dress) sweeping the ground, wet and heavy with the slick and rust. With her service Glock 17 handgun, cradled in her sweaty hands, she was quite a sight to look at. She looked around for a sign. Her trained eyes scanned every nook and cranny. She saw a scrap metal plate lying broken and bent by the side of one of the warehouses. With swift strides, she walked up to it and used its sharp edge to cut the lower half of her dress unevenly. The hem now hung just above her knees. S
Anya Mithra “Anya! Anya! Your brother is calling you. On the little hill outside thebasti(slums).” 12-year-old Anya was washing utensils outside her tiny shanty in one of the biggest slums of Mumbai. Dharavi. The one-roomed tin shed with an asbestos sheet for a roof was their only possession left behind by their parents. Her brother, Dada, as she called him, was 8 years older and she loved him to the moon and back. She didn’t remember much about her parents. They had died in a fire at the mills compound where they worked. Anya was only 6 at the time. Her Dada had brought her up. He had managed to do odd jobs and bring in money. Enough to keep their shanty and to bring in food at least once a day. There were some days when they would go without meals. Those were few and far between and even at that time, her brother managed to get a deep-friedbhajji(fritter
Anya 12-year-old Anya ran, dreading for her life. The overgrown shrubs must have grown bigger. They were almost reaching her waist now. Her worn-out flip flops were broken, so she left them behind and ran bare feet. Thorns pricking the soft soles of her feet. Pain shooting through her legs and her stomach cramping up with hunger. She couldn't remember when she had last eaten. She fell down and tried to get up but Tatya was at her side. She sat on the rocky ground, terrified. He poured a bucket full of warm blood on her. The warm blood soaked her clothes, turning her little hands red, reeking of death. No, No, No, stop... "STOP!!!" Shouting, Anya woke up with a start. Hyperventilating and disoriented, she looked around her, anxiously. She was in her one-bedroom apartment. Heaving a sigh of relief she checked the time. Her mobile phone on the bedside table said 3.00 am. Feeling frustrated, sh
Anand Gore (Andy) Andy received a call early in the morning. His best friend Mia was crying hysterically. “Babe! What happened? Why are you crying?” “He tried to rape me,” she managed to splutter through her sobs. “What the fuck? Who? Where are you?” She was his best friend. They were together in junior college. After 12th grade, Mia had decided to become an Ayurvedic doctor while he had taken up Engineering in the Information Technology (IT) field. “I don’t know. It is some road near Sushant’s house,” she said. “The bastard did this to you?” “Yes” Andy cursed, “Babe, listen! Are you in a safe space? Is he following you?” “No. I broke a vase on his head. He is knocked out.” “That’s my girl! Now walk towards the police station. I am on my way.” He rode his Royal Enfield motorbike like a maniac and covered a distance of 30 mins in 10. Mia was still sobbing when he found her. She hadn
AnyaThe girl Mia was clearly in distress and it only triggered the anger inside her. Such cases affected her a lot. They increased her nightmares and she felt like beating the shit out of the assholes who tried to sexually assault anyone.Bloody motherfuckers! She totally hated the rapists and people who attempted rape. According to her they were the scum of this planet, lowest of the low!!Once Mia’s medical report was in, they arrested Sushant. The guy was pissed off. Apparently the guy’s dad had some very strong political connections. Bloody rich assholes!!She needed Mia to come in for some questioning. She called the number given on Mia’s file but the phone was switched off. She called Anand (Andy).“Hi!” Said Andy.“Hey! Is this Mr Anand Gore?”“Yes!”“PSI Anya here. We have caught the culprit.”“Wow! That was quick. I thought our cops were sl
"Time to go babes". Andy sat ready on his black Royal Enfield classic bike with an extra helmet.Since the day Mia had stumbled across her boyfriend Sushant fucking one of their seniors a few months back, Andy had remained a solid support for Mia. They were best friends since their junior college and nothing could stop them from being there for each other. He knew what a fuckwit Sushant was. He would give Mia a lot of grief over continuing to be friends with Andy. Her personality had changed into an introvert but this is one thing that she thankfully did not give up. She stayed in touch with Andy, albeit in secret without letting Sushant know.Whenever Andy recalled the latest incident, he would feel like bashing the bastard up but he controlled himself knowing that the case was in the hands of the cops.Mia came out of her parents house looking as beautiful as ever in her blue denims and a yel

Andy Andy sat in his corner office on the top floor. The office had a view to die for. He had just returned from Ahmedabad where his company had sent him for a month-long executive leadership program at the Indian Institute of Management, the IIM, the top management institute of the country. He looked out of the glass walls at the distant Mula Mutha river snaking through the city in a steady stream. He was now a member of the Royal Connaught Boat Club too. The top of its majestic building was just about visible from his Southern window. He looked forward to the weekend with his boating buddies. It was good to be back. Lately, his team was giving him some trouble and he could feel the resentment affecting their work
After the movie, they went to bed in each other's arms. Anya woke up in the morning with her back resting comfortably against Andy’s athletic body.Something hard poking against her butt made her heart skip a beat as Andy caressed the side of her face. He let his hands move to her naked shoulder where her loose T-shirt had fallen off-shoulder exposing her smooth wheatish skin.He left soft feathery kisses at the nape of her neck gradually working his way up until he reached the back of her ear. She was waking up with a burning desire between her legs. She moaned and turned around to meet his lips with her own. Thanks to Andy her nightmares had finally reduced. It had been a night of peaceful sleep cradled in the arms of her lover. She wasn’t sure if she felt guilty about forgetting her brother but
Dane wanted Jenny to meet his family. They settled the bill and a chirping, chortling Jenny left with Dane. She was a little high. The couple's happiness was addictive as Anya looked forward to getting some free time with Andy. Mia wanted to go for bike ride and poor Raj acceded to going back to his flat in the city. Everyone could see how smitten he was with Mia. Anya had a sense that he wasn’t really planning to let Mia off the hook that easily. She would need to run him through the system. After all Mia was her friend now. Anya and Andy decided to spend the rest of the evening together. The only place Anya wanted to be after such an exciting day was in Andy’s arms, relaxing at his house, in the TV room. His house felt more like hers now. They put up a Boll
WHAM! Anya punched Sushant in the face. “That’s for what you did 3 years back. I was the cop who put you behind the bars and I won’t hesitate again. Stay away.”Impressed by Anya’s outburst, Raj glared at the excuse for a human in front of them, “who is the joker?”“Her ex!” Andy replied, gesturing towards Mia who stood stunned at the turn of the events.Anya had enjoyed the movie. She loved masala Bollywood movies but Iron Man 3 was a good movie too. More than the movie she enjoyed watching it with Andy and his group of friends. For the first time, she felt she belonged in a group. It was a group of people from diverse backgrounds with varied interests and differe
Hearing the unspoken words and acting on unexpressed feelings can sometimes bring peace to two aching hearts who share the same emotions.Author Kat KyleThe two lovers decided to take their relationship to the next level without an explicit proposal. They both knew this was what they wanted and the rules of the world mattered very little when your hearts are connected.Anya’s phone had Andy on speed dial so she could connect quickly with him. Eknath at the police station knew about this new development but Anya kept their relationship a secret for everyone else. She had a spare key to Andy’s house. Although she stayed with him whenever possib
Anya reached the entrance of the restaurant Night N Gale and bumped against Andy. He looked angry. His jaw was set and the scorching glare from his eyes almost burnt Anya. She gave a sweet smile, “Let's go. My jeep is just around the corner.”Andy was very angry. Why did Anya have to go alone on these dangerous missions and go incommunicado? She almost gave him heart failure. The last time she did something like this she got stabbed. She had no family or friends who could care for her. Thankfully this time he was around! He wanted to care for her, he did not want to be away from her anymore. He pulled her outside the restaurant, ‘you are coming with me. Let Eknath know. He is waiting with your constables. I dropp
