My ankles crossed under the table in the student union as I placed another deliciously salty fry in my mouth. It wasn't every day that one could get a free show with their meal, but there I was, enjoying both. Don't misunderstand me, I know that the amusement I was feeling from watching it was wrong. Yet, I continued to munch on chunks of oil-crisped potatoes like it was popcorn with wide eyes, unable to do anything but stare at the couple that was fighting only a few tables down.

There wasn't much other conversation in the crowded room, and I contemplated telling them that their discussion was not private, but my ass stayed glued to my seat as I ate. If they wanted to make this everyone's business, that was their choice. The last thing that I wanted was to be pulled into the drama.

As one of the only girls in the school who wasn't completely in love with the beautiful cheerleader and quarterback's storybook romance, I was highly entertained.

"Four years, Diana! Four years, and now you want to break up so you can get the 'full college experience'?" My eyes followed his hands as he used air quotes and even as heartbroken as he looked, the motion brought a small smile of amusement to my face. "All that means is that you want to fuck other people! If that's why then just say it."

Diana quickly looked around the room, and her face turned a bright crimson as blood rushed to the surface. My eyes met hers briefly as she scanned the area, and realized that they had a rather large audience. I took that moment to plop the quickly cooling fry into my mouth before I broke eye contact. I grabbed the paper cup in front of me to take a sip as she ducked her face behind a curtain of her platinum blonde hair.

The lightweight object in my hand made me frown, and I shook it slightly to feel a small amount of pop left inside. As my lips wrapped around the straw to take the last sip, it echoed loudly to indicate that I had run out of my drink. I winced as my roommate, Chloe, kicked my shin from the loud gargle, and I pursed my lips at her with an unamused stare as I set the cup back on the table. She was horrified by the attention I drew from the noise, as the table next to us also turned to glare at my interruption to their dinner theater. I sent a small shrug her way in a 'what can you do' manner before we both turned back to the subject of everyone's fascination.

"That's not what I mean, and you know it!" Diana said harshly as she picked up her fork and began to push around the horrid spaghetti our university served. "I just think that we need to experience different things, and I don't want to continue this conversation here! You're making a scene!" I couldn't help but roll my eyes at that. There was no doubt in my mind that he was right in his assumption, but I'm sure that wasn't something she wanted publically announced.

To some, it may have been a good idea to have that type of conversation in a public place in order to control and limit the person's reaction as most people don't want to draw attention from emotional outbursts. Unfortunately for her, it seemed that he didn't care if he made a scene.

"Like what?" He snapped. "The only thing that you can't experience when you're in a relationship is someone else!" His black hair slid between his fingers as he ran his hand through it in frustration and left a tussled, 'just rolled out of bed' look.

Even I had to admit that it was a good look for him.

I let out an involuntary snort at his comment. She could very well experience another person while she was still in a relationship. He was lucky that she was at least breaking up with him first.

"I said I don't want to do this here. Let's go back to your place and talk about this." She begged quietly as she leaned forward on the table and barely avoided her hair from becoming a part of her meal.

My hand automatically went back to the paper boat my snack had sat in, and I blindly felt around for another, my eyes still on the couple. It was like a horrendous car accident, and I was thankful that I was not the only one openly staring. At this point, almost the entire dining room was.

When I came up empty, I pulled my eyes away once more to find I had finished my fries and had nothing else to munch on.

The sound of a chair scraping against the ground made me look up so fast, I almost snapped my neck.

Standing in his full glory, Caleb Briggs glared down at the skinny cheerleader in front of him with his deep green eyes full of anger. "No. I'm done talking about this. You want to be single so you can fuck other guys? Fine. You win. You're single."

The way his jeans hugged his thighs as he turned to storm out of the dining hall drew my attention in, and I couldn't help the slight tilt in my head as I noticed how sculpted his backside was. The pants hugged his butt just right, and I almost drooled when I watched the muscles in his back flex under his white cotton t-shirt as he pulled the door open and left.

The closing of the door was like a mic drop. As soon as the glass panel fully separated the student union from the man, the room had erupted in loud conversation about the events that had just transpired. No one seemed to care that Diana had still been sitting there. Tears silently fell from her eyes as she stared in the direction of her ex-boyfriend before she stumbled to her feet and raced out of the building, the disgusting pasta left behind on the table.

Well that cheerleader pick the wrong place to tell the guy she wants to break up. And if course if someone told me what she told him. I would of assumed the same thing.

It was a long week of hearing the rumor mill run wild. Apparently, it went from her wanting to sleep with other people, to Diana being pregnant with another man's baby already. I was so tired of hearing it. The fallout was amusing at the time, but now it was irritating me. No matter where I went or who I talked to, they would always round the conversation back to, "Did you hear what happened between Briggs and Diana?" I have nothing personal against them. It was just so cliché! At first, they were the school's golden couple. High school sweethearts going to college together and dominating the school as the cheerleader and the quarterback. I'm pretty sure the college even used their picture in a promotion somewhere. The perfect power couple. Even now that they are no longer together, they are still everywhere! The large, coffee-colored leather couch against the wall of my father's office was perfect for napping but not so good for getting any of my work done. I could

When I was 18, I learned that my dad had been dating a woman without my knowledge; Selena Hart. When I was told that she had a son who played football, I was insanely jealous that my dad finally got the son he always wanted. I felt like my world flipped upside down, and I hadn't been ready for it. Lucky for me, Tyler was respectful of our family dynamic. While he gave my dad his blessing, he also wasn't looking for a replacement father, which meant that I got to keep him all to myself for a while... at least until they moved in with us. Tyler and I actually got on really well, almost too well. It was like we were siblings our whole lives. If it weren't for his brown eyes, we could probably pass for brother and sister. The best part was that we were only a few months apart, and it helped us get on better than if we had years between us. The knowledge that Selena was the one who created and raised Tyler made me give the big thumbs up to my dad when he told me of his plans to m

As we walked further away from campus to the row of fraternity houses, I felt the excitement build. After the party last year, I knew that I couldn't get carried away, but I would still enjoy myself. When I was on campus, there were always eyes on me. It was an unspoken rule that when a member of the staff had a child enrolled, that the rest looked out for them. Unfortunately for me, even though I was 20, it also meant that everything that I did was immediately reported to my father. Good thing that The Row was just off of the main campus and away from any staff. It didn't take long before we saw other people walking around in their costumes, all headed toward the sounds of the muffled bass and screams. The costumes around me were all the same. There were so many "sexy" professions that I never knew existed. Chloe walked next to me in her adorable and very short Alice in Wonderland dress, with her long blonde hair curled down her back. She wasn't too

The second that she walked out the backdoor of our frat house with the black fabric tied over her eyes, I couldn't take my own away. It amused me that we had the same idea, and I smiled for the first time in a few days as I let out a chuckle. Her shirt sat tight against her toned stomach, and I admired the way that she looked sexy without parading around naked like most of the other girls who came out tonight. A hard elbow jabbed into my side, and I turned with a glare as the smile fell from my face. Jones leaned over with a knowing grin and jutted his chin in the direction of the girl as she approached the bar. "One wingman coming up!" He announced before I could say anything and took off toward her. As a best friend, he was great. As a person, he was sometimes a bit too pushy and overbearing. It made me worried that he may come on too strong and scare her away. Jones was like an over-excitable puppy. It was hard to deter him away from something that

Jones dealt, and I looked down at my cards. 20. "What'll it be?" He asked her with a smirk. "Hit me." She said as she tilted her head to the side. That one card could determine a lot. I glanced over her, and my eyes were drawn to the ink on her arms. She was magnificent. I wondered if she had more that I would be able to see tonight after a few rounds. The smirk on her face made me want to curse as I realized that she had gotten the card that she wanted. As we went around the table two more people hit, but no one put their cards down. I held. Jones had 14 showing and turned over a king. "Fuck!" He shouted. "Alright, alright. Let's see them." He said with a pout. I glanced around the table, and I couldn't help but smile when I saw she had 20 as well. The others at the table had a collection of the high teens, and I quickly turned back to the bandit smiling at me. "What would you like?" She asked me, and my eyes zoomed i

I pulled my shirt on in a hurry as I moved through the crowd and into the house. The bottle in my hand sloshed around as I looked for something new to do that would get me away from the captivating green-eyed bandit in the backyard. Something about him was familiar but also dangerous. I was intrigued, and that was never a good thing. If it weren't for my mask, I probably would not have taken off my shirt. With it on, I felt like nothing could stop me. The way he held my gaze as I took off my top before he let his eyes roam my body made my entire being heat up. If that girl didn't lose her stomach on the table, I would have stripped right down to my birthday suit with the way he was making me feel as he watched me. It was invigorating. I adjusted the strap of fabric around my eyes for the millionth time that night before I made my way up the stairs to locate the bathroom. There were a few downstairs, but they were probably disgusting at this point. The walk was quick,

"Stay." The rasp in his voice sent goosebumps along my skin. The hairs on the back of my neck stood at attention. I slowly leaned back to resume my position like a skittish dog, waiting for him to kick me off of the bed. That's what most normal people would do if they found a stranger making themselves at home in their bedroom, let alone in their bed. Our arms brushed against each other as I sat back against the wall next to him. He took the controller out of my hands as the next round started. "My turn." He whispered, and my eyes traveled down to his lips before he turned his head back to the screen. I quickly picked up the bottle and took another sip to try and distract myself. At this point, the burn was no longer there, and the liquid slid down my throat easily. The warmth of his skin against my bicep made my breathing pick up slightly. After a few minutes of silence, I gave up on trying to keep my eyes securely on the screen and turned to look at him again. The

"You're telling me that you've never had blueberry cheesecake ice cream?" I asked with astonishment as I handed him the controller, and he took his turn. He shook his head slowly as he looked over at me. "It’s vanilla ice cream with swirls of blueberry and chunks of cheesecake in it. It is so good!" "That sounds awful!" He choked out through his laughter. My eyes found their way down to his lips as they pulled up and revealed his heart-stopping smile. As he reached up and brushed a stray piece of hair that had escaped from my ponytail back behind my ear, my lower lip found its way between my bottom teeth. His fingertips barely brushed my skin, but the intense heat that shot through my body had me wondering what it would feel like to have his fingers somewhere else. "Don't slam it until you try it." I stumbled out as I tried to rein myself in. "It is one of the best flavors out there, but only a few brands make it." Leaning forward, I placed the glass bottle on his nightstand. We had

Hello, my beautiful readers! I hope you that enjoyed reading Violet and Caleb's story as much as I loved writing it! I always read stories where the main characters jump right in to a relationship, but haven't read many about the journey leading up to it. That is what I wanted to create. A book where my readers feel the emotions with the characters as they develop. I've also heard a lot of feedback that epilogues should only include marriage, pregnancy/ child birth, or a proposal. I wanted a story that broke the norm. I wanted to create a story that was about the creation of a relationship with a look into their future without it being a stereotypical epilogue, so I gave bonus chapters instead. I hope you enjoyed. Your feedback and comments mean the world to me. So, please leave the book a review or comment to let me know what you thought! Plus, don't forget to Vote! I appreciate you all! Love, Ashley Breanne

It was like a dream. There he stood, in a pair of jeans with a black button-up shirt tucked in, holding a bouquet of roses. I'm not sure when I started running. All I know is that I did. My suitcase fell to the ground as I dropped the handle a few feet in front of him before launching myself into his arms and wrapping my legs around his waist. I wasted no time in pressing my lips to his eagerly as his arms wrapped around my body to hold me close. The plastic that was wrapped around the bouquet crinkled behind me as he kissed me back just as passionately. His black hair was just as soft as I remembered, if not softer, and I laced my fingers through it as his tongue met mine in a heated kiss. "Damn." I heard Stephanie say to my right, and I pulled away with a blush only for Caleb to lean in and peck me twice more. "Hi, baby." He whispered against my lips, and my toes curled in my shoes. "I've missed you." "Why don't you greet me like that?" I heard an unfamiliar voice ask. Looking

I couldn't help the smile spread across my face as I met the bright blue eyes peeping through the crack of the seats in front of me for the hundredth time. There was something about him that was pulling me in. Maybe it was the flush in his cheeks or the head of blonde hair peeking out from beneath his beanie, but he kept drawing me back to him. I couldn't help it. He was cute. Moving back next to the window, I broke our eye contact only to pop back over into his line of sight once more, leaning onto the armrest of the empty seat next to me. An excited burst of giggles left his parted lips as his arms flailed about. No one seemed to mind me playing peek-a-boo with him for the past twenty minutes. Even the person sitting in my row on the aisle seat was content with it. It seemed that everyone in the cabin agreed the beautiful sound of the infant's laughter was better than the screaming that had started only an hour into the flight. It didn't take us long to get to the Alpha Kappa house, where I sat at his desk eating the burger and fries I had him order me in exchange for my help on his homework, watching ESPN on his TV. Tyler lay stretched out across his bed, staring at his laptop with relief as he submitted the assignment. As of last year, he was officially an upperclassman and was given the option to have an individual room instead of having to share. My jealousy oozed out of every pore when I showed up at his room after finding out that I was stuck with Teresa. It was the only time in my life that I regretted not joining a Sorority. Even then, that terrible thought only lasted for a second. They are way too social for me.The TV had just been background noise while we worked, but it quickly caught my attention as I grabbed a fry and stuffed it in my mouth."You would not believe the talent this kid has. It didn't take long for Teresa to realize that I was not going to let her walk over me.To be honest, she wasn't that bad as a roommate, but that was mainly because she was never in the room. When she was, she was asleep in her bed and stayed out of my way.Not that she was happy about it. She threw a fit when I made her move my stuff back to where she found it and explained to her, like an adult talking to a toddler, that she couldn't take my bed just because she wanted it.I was there first. I had dibs."Please, tell me that you have your ticket booked." Caleb's voice was distorted through my headphones as I sat in the quad under one of the trees lining the area. The same tree where we had sat together almost two years ago as we agreed to be friends. Even with his face pink and his hair wet from his after-practice shower, I couldn't help but think to myself that he was still the sexiest thing I had ever seen. And he is mine.

The bitterness in my voice shocked even me, and I silently cursed the few drinks I had downed for lowering my vocal and emotional control. With a bright smile and a shy rub at the back of his neck, I heard him loud and clear over the busy room.
