"Where is he?!" I hollered. My eyes glowering over Gabriel's calm status as I crossed the Pack boundaries only to be welcomed by my Beta.
"You need some rest Kevin. Demonstrating fierceness at this stage is not needed." Gabriel calmly stated. Remaining firm in his position but my rage only worsened. I was almost beaten to death and my Beta had the audacity to tell me to relax?!
"That bastard and his two idiots he calls friends almost killed me last night!" I barked causing the guards meters away to quiver and the little birds to storm into the air.
"I know!" He answered. I could clearly see gloominess imprinted over his face but I cared less.
"Walker informed me about the attack and we arrested them yesterday."
I huffed and was about to b
"How are you here?" Those were the words that escaped my lips as my eyes faintly opened to Claire's face. There she was, her smile as bright as the morning rays greeting her face. Our breaths softly gracing each other's cheeks and our legs intertwined under my white bed sheets. Her pink lips were inches apart from mine and her honey irises glistening with this divine joy. At the same time I could feel her breasts rocking against my chest. I should be enjoying this but instead, my head spun in confusion."How are you here? Claire." I mumbled again while her right fingers softly trailed my cheeks."You don't remember last night?" She whispered like a seductress. I frowned. If I could remember correctly, last night was just like any other night. Me sleeping alone on this ki
KEVIN"Today, we are gathered here under this blessed night to witness the coronation of our new Alpha and Beta of Greenville. Kevin Manchester and Gabriel Herald." So were the words of the elderly man positioned between Gabriel and I. His skin were wrinkled and his hair adorned in gray, one could tell he was nothing less than a two year Millennium old werewolf. He stood above us while our knees stood against the wooden floor. We were on a stage, in a large ballroom-like room where majority of my Pack Members were gathered. All dressed in elegance. The men took joy in suits and the women slaying in their dazzling evening gowns. I could see a bright smile adorning on Gabriel as he faced the crowd but all I did was searching through the crowd for only one person. Claire. It's not like I cared much about this coronation but it would mean a lot if she at least attended."Here, drink
And once again I was up in my room, smoking cigarettes and just staring aimlessly with only one thought in my head. Claire. I wondered how she was faring after last night. Just like I was in pain, I was definite she would be facing the same fate too. Ever since we've encountered several arguments, Lupus has refused to properly communicate with me. I can't even change to my Wolf form at this point. My thoughts drifted to my mother. A part of me had imagined she would show up last night but it was only a dream. One that never came true. It's times like this I more than ever needed one of her talks. She would have probably encouraged me to do better to my mate. I heaved an heavy sigh whilst heavy smokes toured out of my mouth. My door quietly opened and I expected Rose to usher in with her usual breakfast plate."Good Morning, Kevin." Gabriel's voice pierced through the chill air. I glanced at his smilin
Pain. Mild pain was the first feeling that greeted me as I slowly revived back to consciousness. My vision were hazy and gradually adjusting to the yellow lights. My arms and legs were chained with silver to the wooden chair I was seated on. I could feel the chains mercilessly burning my skin whenever they touched. There was also a drip like tube passed into my hands while wolfsbane slowly crawled it's way from a tank into my system. Two of Werewolves dangerous weakness were being bestowed to me for a reason I knew not. My head raged with a migraine, my muscles were weakening and aching from the poison entertaining my system. My breaths were receding, touring out weak and unsteady. I tried to fight against this pain, to break from the clutches of chains and poison but unfortunately, my body had already failed to yield to that resolve. The last I remembered was seeing Jerry at my door step and getting hit with goodness knows what.
"I'm sorry, Claire." I mumbled while I relentlessly kissed her left palm. There she was, on my bed. Her body burning at a high temperature, sweats broke on her forehead while her eyes were barely opened. I cried regardless of the Deltas and Gabriel that surrounded us."I'm sorry for being a disappointing mate!" I continued. "I'm sorry for not being there for you, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, I'm sorry I failed you, don't leave me please." I pleaded. "I won't be able to forgive myself." I whispered to myself while my hands clutched to her palm hoping she won't lose consciousness. The door opened for some figures to saunter in but I didn't bother. My whole concentration was on Claire."I need everyone apart from the medical staffs to leave now." My mother pronounced with all authority and immediately, they all left my room in silence. I stayed regardless, seated by Claire's side cryi
"I'm sorry for being a disappointing mate!" He continued. "I'm sorry for not being there for you, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, I'm sorry I failed you but please don't leave me " He pleaded. "I won't be able to forgive myself." He whisperedHearing those precious words from my mate last night was what saved me from crossing the thin line between life and death. As I emerged from the bathroom, dressed in a pink off shoulder top and blue jean I reminisced about last night. If anyone had told me Jerry could be that monstrous, I would have outrightly denied it. He was someone I considered a friend until yesterday. I toured about my mate's room whilst tolerating the mild pain that still raged in my muscles. Thanks to Kevin, I survived. I leaned against his luxurious wardrobe with my eyes staring at the king size bed where we sat side by side earlier this morning. Leaning against his perfect shoulder while our ha
"Are you ready?" I asked, staring deep into Claire's eyes. She nodded."Are you sure?" I asked again. As hard as I tried to read them, I couldn't phantom what was going on in her mind."Gosh Kevin, you've asked me this same question for like the hundredth time!" She chuckled lightly but I heaved a sigh. This was no laughing matter."Claire, yesterday was traumatic for both of us. I don't want you to be hurt again or feel bad even in the slightest." I mumbled hoping she would understand my own point of view. I recalled my mother advising me to let Claire stay clear of stress related issues. But here she was, seated in my car parked in front of Greenville High Court. I alongside the elders of Greenville were going to give our verdict upon Jerry and his criminalistic friends.
The Morning rays dawning on my face complemented with the chirping of birds gently woke me from my beautiful sleep. For the first time in days, I actually enjoyed my sleep thanks to my affectionate Alpha. My eyes opened abruptly when I couldn't feel his warmth nor his touch over me again. Only his scent remained on the bedsheets. A part of me had wished his arms were still curled around my waist while I woke up to his steely chest. I alighted from the bed, thinking about my work in Greenville High. One Kevin had relieved me of. To be honest, my body wasn't inclined towards boring school files too. I rather dreamed to spend time with my mate. And speaking of Mates, I wondered where Kevin had wandered too. I checked the bathroom but he wasn't there, hence I trailed downstairs where Gabriel's voice screeched."My Goodness! Kevin what have you done?!" He bl
The tweeting of birds, a familiar honey scent and the comfort of a bed slowly brought me back to life. My eyes faintly opened to a room illuminated by the sun rays coming from the window above me. The bed was different. It was larger than mine and the bed sheets were a spotless design of velvet green. It was exactly in sync with the colour of the large room. A spotless shade of green. I didn't know this room yet it felt so welcoming and peaceful. Series of sparks emanated from my bare chest and spiralled across the rest of my body. It forced me to look down and there I saw her pretty fingers. Laying peacefully on my tattoo. My eyes briskly darted to my side, and there she was, my beautiful mate staring at me deeply. I turned towards her and my hand wrapped across her bare waist. I didn't care as to how we were naked or how I arrived here, in her room. All I cared for was her. She was safe and so was I. Even though she didn't w
I had a dream, that I lived a beautiful life. I was in Greenville Pack House gardens with Claire by my side. Both of us laughing for joy while our twins played around. Olivia was busy playing with her dolls alongside my mother while Oliver, took joy in pulling Gabriel's low cut hair. Gabriel would scream but also laughed at my son's playfulness. Rose was happy and so was Aunty Flora. And Uncle Walker, being our caring father. We were happy but unfortunately this dream came to an end. Here I was in my tattered clothes soaked in oil, hung on a stick to be burnt alive in front of the crowds yelling curse words at me."Burn him!""Behead him!""Bury him alive!""Cut him into pieces!!" Many of them chanted and amidst this hurling crowds, I found many Alphas, all standing in silence and waiting for that moment to come. The time where my body will be ashes. My eyes found, the monster. Blake, standing only inches away
"Kevin is going to be the new Lycan.""Father, I implore you to rethink your decision." I had said while he turned to me, his predatory look already replaced with care and admiration. "Kevin never wanted to be Alpha let alone be Lycan. I'm not sure he's the right --""He is the Wolf of Justice, Claire. The moon goddess chose him for a reason and this is it." He pursed his lips."Are you doing this out of guilt or pity or because he his simply the Wolf of Justice and nothing more to you?" I asked while my Father heaved a sigh as he joined me back on the bedside."If it were out of guilt, I would have given him wealth, power and any other thing he desires. I'm not making Kevin the new Lycan because of guilt nor because he's a special Wolf." He paused as his gaze returned to my mother's portrait. He carried a smile I couldn't quite depict but I knew he was in deep thoughts. Thinking of the right words."Ever since your mother's death, I al
Pain. Surprisingly, it didn't come from my long open injuries laced across my body or the fact that I was hung upside down, in a dark cave bound in silver chains while wolfsbane coursed throughout my body like blood. It was tiny yet so hefty, ripping and merciless. It birthed from only one thing. My dear mate who rejected me, who casted me into death hands without second thoughts. How could I blame her, after all, she had lost someone so dear. Perhaps this was my Karma for all my deeds. In a strange way, I began to think about my parents. The same way my mother failed to fight for her mate was reliving itself again. I was sharing this same cursed fate. Was I even sharing the same fate with him? My Father chose to die even when he knew the truth or perhaps he didn't. But I, I was going to die even when I knew the truth. A truth that no one would believe. I smiled to myself. At least if the moon goddess had dest
"On the twelfth of this month," were the beginning words of an elder as he climbed the podium of Moonsville Supreme Court. And there was my mate, by the right of the podium. Bounded in silver chains with dried blood from his injuries. His clothes were tattered and dirty. His head were bowed to the ground as his arms went above his head from the chains holding him. His knees stood against the rough concrete floor and his messy hair overshadowed his face so one couldn't look closely. But I knew, from the mate bond. He didn't care. He was neither furious nor in pain. He was just silent. Silent ever since he had been arrested."Kevin Manchester, Alpha of Greenville, killed the Lycan." The old man continued on a solemn note. "To achieve this atrocious crime of his, he compelled the boundaries guards with his powers and even the guards at the Pack House." He paused his lips as he glanced at barely conscious Kevin. It wasn't with hatred but compassion."The cour
"How is he?" I asked Gabriel in a worriedly fashion as we Skype on my laptop. He sighed first and his countenance wasn't helping either."Bad." He muttered, his disappointments evidently blaring in his tone. "Very bad, Claire. Kevin has returned to his former self. He's getting worse day by day." I gulped down my saliva trying to hold back my worries from showing. But I failed horribly at it. I could feel it in our mate bond. Kevin was in so much pain."You have to come to Greenville." His words tousled my thoughts. And in his eyes, they pleaded for me to yield. "He misses you."My lips parted but only for air to escape. I was waiting for the right word. "I'm not sure he's ready to see me nor am I sure, I'm ready to see him either. He's in so much pain and he's still dealing with the ugly truth behind his father's death. And I," I pursed my lips as my eyes lowered to the keyboard. "I'm still dealing with mine
"Good Morning, my love." My eyes slowly opened to Claire's beautiful face inches away from mine. I frowned while she smiled, her hand softly grazing my bearded cheek."This is not real." I mumbled but she inched closer, crossing her leg around my waist. Tears started to grace my eyes again and her smile gradually vanished."What's wrong?" She whispered but I kept on staring at her with teary eyes. This wasn't real, none of it."Why do you keep punishing me? You and I both know this is a dream. I don't want to see you Claire, yet you appear to me every morning." I mumbled after minutes of hesitation. She wore an endearing smile, running her fingers through my long mess hair."I'm not punishing you." She said. "You and I both know, a part of you wants to see me. You crave me Kevin and that's why your subconsciousness is doing this." She added. "This beautiful morning, this room, us, this is what you want. Yet you keep denying it.""I can't have you."
"Kev?" Claire whispered in a fear stricken tone but I cared less."Who are you?""Who am I?!" I blurted in disgust with a ferocious frown complementing my face."I am that boy, who you killed his Father!" I barked while I took stealthy steps towards him. "I am that young boy who transformed into a wolf the moment he watched his Father die from your blades!""Stay back!" His right hand man ordered but instead, my eyes morphed into a threatening sparkling red. Claws extended from my fingers."Guards!" His left hand man roared, he had sheer resemblance with the Lycan. Enough to inform me this was Blake. The doors flew open and immediately, Guards encircled about me, flashing their golden yellow. But I cared less, I wasn't e
"So this is it," Gabriel heaved a sigh as he shut my Mercedes car boot. "You both are all set!" He added while Claire joined me by my side. I was donning a dull green bomber Jacket on a dark blue T shirt and jeans complemented with black Chelsea boots. And Claire on the other hand, chose to wear a green off shoulder top complemented with a pair of black fitted jeans and matching heels. I glanced at Gabriel, Rose and my commanders in a worriedly fashion while they retained their proud smiley faces. Even though I was leaving for two days, It felt like two months to me."I know that look, Kevin." Gabriel's voice tousled my thoughts. "We'll be fine, we're not kids anymore and it's not like you both will be gone for long." He assured but I heaved a sigh, trying to feign a smile."We can handle t
