RANDELLE’S POV
The door opened with a loud bang and I jolted up from the bed. My heart leaped up in the air in fear as I looked towards the door. I was surprised to see Jeremy walk into the room with a livid look on his face. However, I didn’t care to ask why he looked angry, I was annoyed that he had no manners and courtesy.
“What the fuck are you doing? Why would you barge into my bedroom that way?” I asked with a frown on my face as I slowly got up from the bed. However, Jeremy didn’t care to reply to my question.
He walked toward me and before I knew what was happening, he took hold of my hand and dragged me closer.
I was disoriented for a moment but in the next second, he put his lips on mine, kissing me forcefully with his hand holding down my head. My head went blank immediately and I couldn’t comprehend what was happening for a moment.
But then my head started to ring with how wrong his actions were. I shouldn’t be in Jeremy’s arms with him kissing me when I had a mate, a chosen mate. Worst of all, Jeremy was my stepbrother.
Without thinking twice, I pushed him away as I turned angrier by the second. I felt filthy and degraded.
“Are you out of your mind?” I yelled with red eyes, showing how livid I was. My chest moved up and down, showing how livid I was.
“Randelle…” He called out to me but then I cut him off abruptly. His voice irritated me to an unimaginable extent.
“Do you know what this is? I have a mate and you shouldn’t be here.” I said through gritted teeth. At this point, nothing could quantify the anger and disgust I had toward Jeremy. But in the next second, he burst into a peal of mocking laughter.
The sound of his laughter resonated through the whole room and I was a bit surprised.
“Does this look funny to you? Do you think what you have done is funny?” I asked, wanting to slap off that dirty smirk on his face.
“You have a mate you say?” He asked and his words threw me into a web of confusion.
“Your mate is out there, cheating on you and you stand here keeping yourself faithful to him. Why are you so stupid, Randelle?” Jeremy asked and I found his words very insulting. How could he talk about my mate like that?
“You know what, I should never have kept our mate bond a secret. I should have made you mine and that stupid dick you call your mate wouldn’t have a chance with you.” He said and I gasped in shock and disbelief at what he was saying. His words moved me to action and in the next second, I slapped him across the face.
Jeremy’s head whipped to the side and there were five red marks on the side of his face, showing how hard I hit him.
“Don’t you dare insult me or my mate. I trust Rico so much and you…” I started to speak but he cut me off rudely.
“Get your ass to Amore Gardens, room 108 and you will find your so-called mate bathed in sweat because he is fucking a woman other than you.” Jeremy’s words resounded in the room and I shook, in fear. His words made me lose my reasoning for a moment.
Before I could ask any questions, he turned around immediately and walked out. However, I was able to spot the pain and sadness in his eyes.
My body continued to shake uncontrollably and I slipped to the bare floor. Everything Jeremy had said continued to replay in my head. My mate? Cheating on me? I couldn’t believe it!
But at the same time, I knew that Jeremy would never lie to me. He was my fated mate after all. One the Moon Goddess had given to me in a twisted and sick play of love and destiny. Sadly, we could never be together because we were step-siblings. A forbidden pair.
__
My steps quickened as I walked into the large and extravagant building of Amore Gardens. I wasn’t even stopped by the attendants because I always visited with the Alpha and my chosen mate, Rico.
I chose not to speak or inform anyone what I was there for. I knew exactly where I was going and a few minutes later, I was at the door of room 108. My heart was beating rapidly and for a moment, I could detect no movement from the other side of the door.
“Maybe it’s all a lie…” I said to myself and was about to turn away but then I halted immediately. I heard low moaning sounds. It was muffled as if the person was being gagged. Without thinking twice, I barged into the room since the door was unlocked.
The scene before me made my whole life flash before my eyes. My body trembled and I staggered in shock and utmost disbelief. Jeremy was not lying after all! My chosen mate was indeed bathed in sweat, fucking another woman other than me. However, how did that make me feel? It made me look stupid just like how Jeremy had addressed me. I was a fool in love and I did not realize that Rico had been cheating on me.
The realization of that caused my body to weaken tremendously and fell on my butt, weakly. My heart broke into tiny pieces and I felt the weight of betrayal right on my shoulders. The pain and the burden that came with it was too heavy to bear. However, I willed myself to keep going, I wanted answers.
“Is this what you resort to now?” I asked, looking straight at Rico’s frozen back. He had remained that way ever since I barged into the room. It was like the air had gone still but then I wondered if it was because he was remorseful and felt bad about his actions.
“What do you want here?” Rico finally faced me but his question caught me off guard. He looked at me with eyes filled with disgust when it should be the other way around. But what was more shocking was the reveal of the woman who was beneath Rico.
“Eva?” I asked as I struggled to stand on my feet.
“Yes, that’s me, sister,” Eva replied with a victorious smile on her face.
At first, I thought I was in some sort of movie. My mate was cheating on me with Eva! My stepsister!
“Why? How? What the fuck is going on?” I asked with a shaky tone. For the first time that day, a tear slipped down my face. Before long, more tears poured as my lips quivered and I felt a bitter taste in my mouth and down my throat. I couldn’t be with my real mate and I had devoted time and effort to love Rico but this is what I got in return.
Heartbreak and betrayal.
“Oh, please..don’t act all pathetic here. Do you think Rico was yours from the start?” Eva asked with a condescending look in her eyes. I was in disbelief at her confident stance and her non-remorseful nature.
“Are you really saying that to me?” I asked as a sudden wave of anger overwhelmed me. This was a double betrayal. I felt pain like no other as it multiplied in multiple folds. But then, the anger that was surging within me was no joke.
The sight of the two traitors on the bed made me want to puke but above all, I felt intense hatred towards them and a sudden urge to kill.
Without thinking twice, I rushed toward the bed and launched a feral attack. My body twisted as I let out my wolf who had been raging in anger ever since. I wanted to kill to quench the pain in my heart.
What Rico and Eva had done to me was nothing less than killing me inwardly and slowly.
However, I didn’t see what was coming. I was late to realize that Rico equally launched an attack and his claws swiped against my chest, ripping my clothes and skin.
I fell to the floor with blood spewing out of my open chest. My heart rate slowed down in seconds like it was about to stop and I turned really dizzy. Was this the end for me?
Again, the Moon Goddess had thrown me into yet another sick and twisted play but this t
ime, it was much more grand, because it might just be the end for me.
RANDELLE’S POVA sharp pain in my heart caused my eyes to fly open in fright and shock. My body was shaking tremendously due to how cold I felt and for a moment I couldn’t see what was before me. My chest rose and fell so fast as if I had been running a marathon race and my eyes narrowed due to how dizzy I was. But then it was due to the fear that I was overwhelmed with.At the same time, the sound of hilarious laughter mixed with mockery flowed into my ears and I managed to focus my eyes on what was before me. Rico’s face came into view and I gasped in shock and fear as he waved a knife at my face, ready to slash it at my face.“Ahh!” I screamed in fear at the sight of the sharp and scary knife. My eyes became clear instantly and my head snapped to look all around. I spotted Eva standing in the corner, with a knife as well. In the next second, I looked down at myself to see that I was stark naked, tied to a pole while I sat on the bare floor.Shame overwhelmed me and I wanted to dig
RANDELLE’S POVSince it was my birthday, I was dressed in a long silver and backless dress. There was a small smile on my face but behind that smile, there was anger, hatred, and the thought of revenge I got from my past life. Almost everyone in the Pack was present for my birthday. Of course, they were present to witness my union with the Alpha, Rico. A union they awaited so much but deep down in my mind, I knew I was going to give them a wild surprise.“Happy birthday, my darling.” My father wished me as I got to the foot of the stairs. He took hold of my right hand and then introduced me to the Pack as his beloved daughter. Yes, I was his beloved daughter but I was someone else beloved as well.My eyes met Jeremy’s who was with the guests. He smiled at me and I blushed without a care in the world. After he declared that I was his mate, we kissed and it was my most passionate kiss ever. The kiss carried the love we shared, the one we weren’t given a chance at in our past lives.I w
For days, I had been locked up in prison without food or water. I hadn’t seen daylight in days and for the first time in my life, I knew how important the light the Goddess blessed us with was. However, if Rico thought he could keep me here and I would rot, then he was delusional.I was a pureblood, a breed that could withstand anything. I wouldn’t die just from not eating but even at that, I wanted to get out of prison so bad. I thought of tearing out the iron doors from their hinges but that would be a total waste strength. If I escaped from prison that way, it might kick up an unrest, one that I would be buried in. Deep down, I knew I didn’t have power over the Pack yet to go against Rico.More days passed but I anticipated help from my father. He knew I wasn’t guilty of impersonation or misleading the people. I expected him to stand up for me since he knew who I was but then he never showed up. Was I abandoned once again? At the same time, I wanted to know how Jeremy was doing. W
Jeremy grabbed my hand as he paved the way in the woods to a place unknown. I also held tightly to his grasp not to be entwined in the thick shrubs of the wood.Immediately Jeremy took me out of the prison, Rico ordered his men to chase after us, and they all came after us like a swarm of bees. Jeremy suggested we hide beneath a cave till the night before we priqued out of Rico's pack.It was late at night, everywhere was dark except for the fireflies that shone in the air, and the screeching whistles of birds in the surroundings. I don't know why I was a bit bemused over my decision to sneak out of the pack with Jeremy. Our father must be worried about us. " Aren't you sleeping, Randelle?" Jeremy snapped up, moving an inch closer to me. He had slumbered, but my eyes weren't shut for a split second.I sighed, wrapping my arms around my legs. " I don't have the urge to sleep, Jeremy,".Jeremy, noticing the unease that smeared on my face, hung his arm over my shoulder. I turned to him,
" I remember everything, Randelle. I remember I wasn't loved by my mate. I remember the silver bullet that pierced through my brain. I remember everything," Jeremy spoke, not sparing me a gaze. His voice was thick, seething a nostalgic emotion. I sighed, perplexed by the unfolded reality. " Why have you hidden this from me all these years?" Jeremy turned to me, a subtle smile smeared on his face. " You know, Randelle," He sighed, and continued, " life is a choice. I was trying to avoid the mistake I made in my past life. I needed to let you decide who you love, and thus, It was my pleasure seeing you rejecting Rico at the aisle,". A surge of guilt brewed in my veins as Jeremy spoke. He was right. I made the wrong choice in my past life and rejected him as my mate. I never gave him the chance for love. However, the mistake I made would never repeat itself. In this life, I'd give Jeremy the love he deserved in ten folds. And, however, I had promised to take brutal revenge on Rico and
As soon as the pack members saw the duo who were about to delve into combat, they encircled them and watched as they prepared to fight. I was also among the crowds, looking forward to the match. The muscular guy was the first to shift into his wolf. He lunged against Jeremy with its dangerous limbs. Jeremy, studying its moves, rooted on his spot and calculated his precision. He landed a blow at the Wolf's neck, and the wolf flew to the other side of the field, gliding on the green grass. " Wow! I've never seen a werewolf fight in his human form defeat a shifted werewolf," The pack members were surprised by Jeremy's Martial skills. Jeremy stood on his spot, making some skillful acrobatics as he awaited the weak wolf on the floor. After some minutes of waiting for the wolf to stand up, it shifted back to the muscular guy, who was now grunting incessantly on the floor. The muscular guy lifted his head, blood dripping out of his torn flesh on the green grass. His eyes went white and he
Jeremy's POV. " He's the Alpha of the Dark wand pack. He's so wicked and dangerous," I spoke, my eyes bloodshot. Kyle clenched his fist and grunted in pain. In my past life, before my head was blown off, I had once caught Rico talking about underground pathways with some high-rank pack members, and werewolves, which they used to abduct werewolves and vulnerable humans. I heard it. I confirmed it, but I kept it inside of me because I was so scared to reveal it. I knew if I revealed it I'd be killed- if not by Rico, then it'd be by the higher rank werewolves. Well, I never knew it was all the same. But in this life, I was ready to expose the evil works of Alpha Rico and make sure he reaped from where he sow. Also, before we ran away from the pack, I overheard Rico planning to trade werewolves. I treacherously left Randelle here with Kyle so that I could trace them, and luckily for me, I found the underground pathway where Rico kept abducted werewolves. Kyle moved closer to me and res
Rico's POV." My Alpha, we've searched everywhere for her including the neighboring packs but she's nowhere to be found," My senior guard delivered on his knees. " What? She's nowhere to be found? How many eternities do you need to look for a skinny girl, huh?" I questioned, his body quivering at the pronunciation of my words. " My Alpha...," he was about to say a word when I shut him up. " Keep quiet, cocktail. I'm not interested in anything you have to say other than bringing Randelle back to my pack alive and that idiot, Jeremy, dead or alive. And if I noticed you're not capable of looking for her, I'd personally add you to my slaves,". With this, he nodded and quivered out of my presence. " Don't get upset over minor issues, Rico. Don't let this stop our fun," Eva spoke, shoving another bottle of beer into my hand. Eva had shoved about three bottles of beer into my hand tonight. I was a bit tipsy, but I wouldn't stop drinking. She thought I was drinking for fun. But, No. I was
My heart blazed over Damien's words. The more I was trying to process the reality of his words, the more shattered I became. " Are you serious with what you just said, Damien? And how sure are you?"Damien smiled, rubbing his temples. " Look here, Randelle. I'd not lie to you. If Jeremy truly wants you to rule him he should have given you the scroll, and let you learn from it,".I flanked my eyebrows as he landed. How come Damien knew I was asking for the scroll from Jeremy? Was he eavesdropping on our conversation?" Yes, Randelle. I overheard you and Jeremy arguing about the scroll. There's nothing to argue about if truly he wants you to take the lead as the pureblood. The reason he tabled was dumb. When do you know your abilities would be activated naturally? Is it until Rico kills everyone?" Damien chipped in with urgency in his voice.I exhaled sharply and was lost in my thoughts over his point of view. However, I didn't see it that way. I felt Jeremy was overprotective, and that
I sat down alone on the bed and crossed my arms as I was lost in my thoughts. I never knew Rico had planned to fight us with the witch. Nonetheless, what disheveled me was the fact that I couldn't even make use of my strength as the pureblood. I felt useless.Soon, Blade, and Jeremy walked up to me with mixed reactions on their faces. They came and sat down closer to me." Why are you sad, Randelle?" Jeremy asked, patting my shoulder gently." That's a stupid question, Jeremy. Randelle is the fucking pureblood, and she couldn't even stop that mother fucker witch," Blade raised his voice at Jeremy." She tried her best, Blade. You shouldn't put all the blame on her for our failure," Jeremy fired back at Blade." No, Jeremy. Blade is right. I was useless during the fight. I couldn't even make use of my power to defeat that witch. I felt so disappointed in myself," I turned to Jeremy and said, my eyes blaring with rage and regret." No, Randelle. You're not useless," Jeremy reassured me
Randelle The rays of dawn streamed through the curtains, bathing our entwined bodies in a warm golden glow. I nestled against the solid strength of Jeremy's chest, his arms wrapped securely around me as we lingered in those blissful moments before waking. "I wish we could stay like this forever," I murmured, tilting my face up to meet his sleepy grin. The depth of emotion shining in his eyes made my heart swell."There's nowhere I'd rather be than right here with you, my love," Jeremy replied, his voice still husky with sleep. He brushed his fingers through my tangled hair before capturing my lips in a long, slow kiss."Ahh, slow down wolf." I moan biting his lips."Can't...if it's you." He groans and capture my lips again making me giggle. All too soon, the responsibilities of the day could be ignored no longer. With great reluctance, I untangled myself from Jeremy's embrace and prepared to leave for my training. His brows drew together, forehead creasing ever so slightly in that
Randelle "Show yourself. even birds grow weary flitting about so." I exclaimed. An awkward throat cleared before Timothy's bulky frame materialized from the bushes."Timothy?"What's the hell is he doing here? Is he following me now?He looked more abashed cub than formidable warrior, and drunked twigs jutting from his ink black mane. I crossed my arms, cocking one brow in silent inquiry."Er sorry to disturb you, Chosen One. I returned from patrol early and hoped to observe Elder Keiran's lesson then saw you come this way." He scuffed one boot, not quite meeting my eyes. "Didn't mean to lurk like some creeping scout." He laughed wrly.I weighed his words before answering neutrally. "It's nothing, no harm done. But the training grounds is that way." I shrugged my sore shoulders. "Keiran focuses within there."Timothy finally lifted his tawny gaze, conviction burning there. "Oh I know I was following you. Of course. I was amazed by your dedication and how it has great impact on the y
RandelleI woke to pale dawn light filtering through the curtained window. Beside me Jeremy slept on, the steady rise and fall of his chest reassuringly familiar. I took a moment to trace the beloved planes of his bearded face, relaxed in repose, before easing from the quilted nest of furs. After washing and braiding back my hair, I moved quietly to the kitchen to start water boiling. The simple domestic tasks soothed my churning thoughts. Soon rich coffee aroma filled the small cabin, mingling with sounds of Jeremy stirring in the next room.I savored the peace of breaking fast with my mate as the rising sun lent its golden glow. We lingered over emptied plates, speaking little but communicating much through tangled fingers and lingering glances. All too soon duty's call could be ignored no longer. With a sigh I stood, gathering up my training gear. Jeremy's fingers caught my wrist, halting my motions."You seem uneasy this morn, my heart." His hazel eyes searched my face. "Is the
Randelle"It's a new day."I smiled as I sat on top a mossy boulder breathing deep the wet evergreen scents wreathing the dawn-kissed glen. The birdsong and the melodic rush of the swollen creek gradually eased tight muscles in my back, the morning's tranquility balm to battle-rattled senses. The threat of Rivero's marauders had passed like an angry storm front, though his final venomous words still haunted...was our victory merely the eye of a more destructive tempest ahead?Soft footfalls rustled behind me. I turned with a smile to greet Jeremy's approach, taking in the pensive cast to his bearded features. My mate hoisted himself lightly beside me, the boulder barely shifting beneath his bulk. For a time we simply soaked in harmonious surroundings, the press of our shoulders and synchronized breathing enough. But chilling memories would not release their grip so easily.Jeremy sighed heavily, his brooding gaze miles away. "Can't say I much fancy the notion of Rico and his jackal
Jeremy I hurtled into the chaotic melee with a roar, claws cleaving the air around me. All was reduced to flashes of violence, the shriek of metal and screams of dying men. I waded relentlessly into the press, rallying my scattered forces by sheer ferocity. "To me, Freeway! Form up, you Son of a b**tch!" I bellowed, spinning and slashing in a deadly arc to buy precious space. Keiran appeared at my shoulder, golden eyes alight with battle fury despite blood slicking half his face. We traded a single nod before turning our steel upon the roiling enemy ranks. For endless minutes we battled bitterly back to back, carving openings for dazed packmates to surge behind our whirling point defense. I marked brothers and sisters falling with gutting finality, their lives the brutal coin purchased our thin perimeter. Gradually our numbers coalesced into a coherent line, bows twanging sporadically from the fringes to pick off overeager Rogues. But still we yielded ground before the ravening ho
RandelleWe met Keiran and the others fighting back Rivero and his mean pack. Keiran's face was tired but fierce. "We won't let them pass!" he yelled. His fur was red from blood.Jeremy pointed his axe. "Freeway pack stay strong!" he bellowed. "We push together!"Everyone roared loud. Their smells were mad and scared but their eyes burned brave. Rivero laughed cold. He was big with black fur and dead eyes. "My wolves will feast well tonight," he sneered. Jeremy jumped at Rivero. Their claws crashed hard. The sound hurt my ears. Rivero kicked Jeremy back. Then his wolves attacked Keiran's team. I launch at a grey wolf. He fell but more came. Their hot breath steamed the air. Their claws and fur were red with blood. My friends were tired from the long fight."Smart Randelle, you lead some wolves around back," Jeremy panted. I gathered Agnus, Kyra, Lana. We snuck behind mean Rivero's pack quiet as foxes. We burst from the bushes yelling. The Rogues turned in surprise. Now my pac
RandelleI woke up to the scent of frying meat and eggs, my stomach rumbling. Beside me, Jeremy stirred, his warmth against my back receding. I rolled over to see him sitting on the edge of the bed, hair tousled, blinking the sleep from his eyes.“Mornin’ beautiful,” he rumbled, lips curving in a lazy grin, Jeremy here? Who's cooking then. “Jake must be fixin’ breakfast.” Jeremy as spoke as if he read my mind."What a nice brother he is." A smile spreading on my face in answer as I sat up, the cozy quilts pooling around my waist. Dawn’s rosy light filtered between the curtains, gilding Jeremy’s rugged profile where he sat scruffing one hand through his dark mane of hair.I stifled a jaw-cracking yawn behind one slim hand, inhaling the aromatic scents wafting from our little kitchen. My mate chuckled knowingly.“C’mon then, before it gets cold.” He stood and stretched, joints popping audibly, before grabbing a discarded shirt off the floor. I averted my gaze from his muscular torso w
