As soon as Ashton detected the sound of the bathroom door shutting, he blinked back his tears and placed a hand over his mouth to muffle his cries.

In truth, he was unsure why he was weeping—whether it was due to the alpha's anguish or his own.

He should be hurt for his own pain... He should hurt for his mother's death... He should be hurt by all the dead dragons.

However, Ashton could clearly sense that those weren't the reason why he was crying. Then... he was definitely crying for hi alpha.

When he sensed the doorknob turning, he quickly shut his eyes and feigned sleep. He had no intention of making eye contact with the alpha or engage in conversation. He wasn’t ready.

His feelings were a chaotic jumble, and he felt lost as to whom or where he could express himself. Yet, he was acutely aware that sharing with the alpha could result in two possible scenarios.

Firstly, he might inadvertently say something that would hurt the alpha, and the mere thought of causing him pain
