Chapter 17 – The Intruders

2024-10-29 19:42:56Dora watched as the smaller ship landed in the docking area. Four men got out in completely black armoured gear with as many weapons as would fit on a body. They confidently strode up to the door.
Dora gave an update. “Four men, full battle armour, completely black with lots of weapons”
“What is your business on Planet S610,” Dora asked
One of the men with a confident smile took a step closer, he opened his mouth then the smile faded as Dora’s gift started to pull words he didn’t intend to use towards his mouth.
“We are here to kill the Princess” The man replied, his men looked at him shocked.
“How many men do you have?”
He was starting to sweat now “15 plus a pilot”
“What is your plan of attack?” One of the men pushed him out of the way and stood in his way, only to answer the question instead. “We have sent two other ships to the north exit and the secret entrance to break in. we are just a decoy.” His hand flew to his mouth.
“who sent you?” but one of the men at the back had figured out what was going on. She is a truth seeker, and grabbed the men away. Back to the ship.
“Dora spoke up. Did you get all that?” Yes replied Alex and Jay at the same time.
“Mia you need to get away from the secret entrance, I repeat, Mia get away from the secret entrance.” Alex directed. But there was no answer. He then started to rearrange people to defend the new doors they intended to break into. Jay can you have half your team be dropped at both doors, come in from behind.”
“yep, we have two transit pods we can get there, eta 15mins”
They was a flurry of activity as everyone got to their new positions. Alex still giving new orders.
Shell’s voice came through, “seven men just breached the north door”
Jay looked at his team. “That leaves four men at the secret entrance. I’ll take the single seater to the secret entrance. You all go in the other to the north door. I don’t want any kids hurt, ok!” he ordered. “Get us as close as you can Ryder without jeopardising the ship”
They all ran for the hull where the transit pods were, they jumped in and started them up, waiting for Ryders signal.
They could hear a gun battle on the ground through their comms open line. Jay was getting antsy not being able to just be there
“Where do you think the other four men in the decoy pod will turn up” asked Tilly
“Good question” Benny replied
They got their signal from Ryder and Jay gunned the little engine, heading directly to the secret entrance. When he got close enough he thought he could just make out the last guy going through the door. He landed his pod behind a big rock so he had cover when he got out “Ready at secret entrance, going dark.” Jay said into his comms. He then tapped the black stud in his left ear and the comms became quiet. He always did this when working alone, relying heavily on his senses.
He snuck to the entrance and inched around he could see the back of the last guy just turn right up the next corridor. As he pushed off through the door, he heard, was must be the decoy team approach in their transit pod. Great he now had eight men and a princess, somewhere in the vicinity.
He peeked around the next corner and dropped the last guy, as he fell, he took down the next one. The front guy then fell and the second guy and only one left standing panicked and run flat out ahead. When he got to the corner, Jay sore him take a kick to the gut, and an elbow in the head as he fell. “Nice” he said to himself.
Behind him he could hear the decoy team entering the building. He sprinted to the corner and slowly edged around. He could see a female figure in tight fitting cargo pants and a vest take off ahead. That had to be Mia and he probably had all of 10 seconds before the team came up behind him. He ran for her noting the door just up ahead. At full stride he grabbed her opened the door and pulled them both in.
It was a cupboard! he had hoped for a room.

They exited the cupboard slowly, allowing their eyes to adjust to the light again. They headed back down the corridor they had just come from. They passed the man Mia had taken out with a kick and elbow, her gun was on the ground near him. She must have dropped it in the attack. He was still alive but wouldn’t be coming around anytime soon. She had got him good. Jay kicked the weapons from him, “did you want your gun, or will you use mine.”Mia thought “yours” Jay nodded and they continued.They stopped at the next man, or the lead man. “I have to go get him” she said, she grabbed Jays gun, ran to the door and held the switch down for 3 seconds like she had seen Jay do. She gently cleaned the bullet wound and surrounding area. With the tweezers, she could feel the metal bullet, she quickly pulled it out, pressing a cloth over the wound applying pressure.
