Chapter 16 - Preparing for battle

2024-10-29 19:42:56“Captain Jay of the Palace guard of Ziion, me and my team are on an undercover mission in relation to the Kings recent assignation attempt. We are on our way to your planet, when we noticed another ship also heading there. We are unsure of its purpose but if its in connection to our case it could be to harm or kidnap one of you trainees.
“Can you release the person’s identity”
There was a pause
“Where you the person who knew our code”
“Yes I served in the Ziion Military, and still call Ziion home and King Levis my King”
“Ok that’s good enough for me. We have only one source but we believe on your Planet, you have a missing princess, she is a twin to Princess Rota”
“Mia” said Alex looking to Dora, Dora’s eyes widened. As they both thought through her circumstances it made sense, she even had similar featured to the king”
“Yes it does make sense” said Alex over the line “What would you have us do, I imagine you already know we don’t have much in the way of anything useful here.” Said Alex
“We aren’t armed for a fight in the sky either.” Replied Jay “As soon as the ship passes us we will head for your planet but you will have to hold them off for at least half an hour before we can get there. Can you do that.
“Don’t have much of a choice.” Said Alex
“How many fighters do you have that can hold their own?”
“Five Trainees, Three Masters. Including your Princess.”
“Do you have a natural choke point you can fall back too if they get inside”
“I’ll co-ordinate inside you just get here, how many on your team,”
“4 and a pilot”
“I was kind of hoping for more”
“Yeah sorry about that. Ok send us permission to land over the emergency line, just in case the other ship is watching and we will get moving again, better keep this line open. We will also need a map with your weak spots and where you want us.
“Good enough plan as any.” Alex said “Hey Captain Jay – Happy Hunting!”
“Oh my Gosh is that you general!” came a completely over the top voice through the line
“Bunny, is that you?” Master Alex asked
“Hell yeah, and we got Benny and Tilly too.”
“Oh that Jay,” He let out a laugh “Oh I feel so much better knowing I got you guys on the way, they really did send the best”
“Anything for you General Alex, see you in a bit, Hold tight” said Bunny
He gave another laugh, he seriously couldn’t believe his luck, and knowing the capabilities of the team coming Alex brought up the map, trying to work out the best way to defend this place. “Dora, better get everyone up and ready”
“Yeah, do we get Mia to look after all the younger kids in cellar so we know she is safe.”
“Ha, you can try but my bet is she won’t want to. Probably best putting her in the safest part of the fight. I assume they will land on the dock. Maybe if you tell Mia to guard the secret entrance which we can send Jays team too. She will be protected by 4 of the best soldiers Ziion has to offer.
“Well I’m not sure I want her directly in harms way but I see the point your making”
Dora programmed in the code to set off the emergency alarm, she let it sound for half an minute and then Picked up the intercom. “This is not a drill, we have an incoming ship that maybe hostile. Please dress in full battle gear, with vests. And report to the mess hall in 10 minutes. I repeat. This is not a drill, we have an incoming ship that maybe hostile. “She turned to Alex do you have a plan worked out yet?”
“First of all I want you to meet the ship, you can tell if they mean harm or not, how many they have and what they are doing here. If you stand in the airlock, you should be able to see and talk to them, the glass is thick enough to protect you, unless they have serious firepower, then none of these plans will work. Then we hope the front dock holds until Jay and his team get close enough. But if that isn’t the case, I want to feed them into the outer corridor, we can then split them, half can go into the mess hall and keep the other half moving around the outer to the north exit. I wonder if we can force them back outside.” Alex said this more to himself “How sure are you that this secret exit isn’t known by anyone?”
“As sure as anyone can be” said Dora with a shrug of her shoulders.
“If Jay’s team enter here, then we can get them to move straight to the mess hall to clean up and then down the outer to finish.” He scratched his head. “There is so much that can go wrong. I need Master Shelly to take all the kids under 15 to the cellar. That leaves Mia here by the secret entrance, two here to split them, two here to keep them on the outer two in the mess hall to ambush and one on the north exit. If they deviate from that plan its just going to be a big game of cat and mouse.” He filled out the map with all the information Jay would need and sent it to them. I will need Master Shell to be our eyes, we don’t have many camera’s but any advantage is necessary. Can you get her comm into the security feeds, and we will need 9 ear pieces for communication. Set them all to the same line that Jays ship is on. I’ll get to the mess and start getting people ready.”
“Right behind you”
Alex sent Master Shell with her comm connected into the security feeds, headset working and all the younger children into the cellar. He then with Jays team on the line ran through the plan as it was trying to highlight all the things that could go wrong. The trainees then got their weapons ready before heading out to their posts. 20 mins until eta.
“Dora are you in position?” asked Alex
“Affirmative, I can see a smaller transit Pod approaching”

With his left hand holding his rifle wrapped around her waist and his right hand over her mouth, he leaned his back against the inside of the cupboard for stability. The cupboard door on his left. He froze, trying to hear how far away the other team was. It was pitch black it there. They exited the cupboard slowly, allowing their eyes to adjust to the light again. They headed back down the corridor they had just come from. They passed the man Mia had taken out with a kick and elbow, her gun was on the ground near him. She must have dropped it in the attack. He was still alive but wouldn’t be coming around anytime soon. She gently cleaned the bullet wound and surrounding area. With the tweezers, she could feel the metal bullet, she quickly pulled it out, pressing a cloth over the wound applying pressure. The Elites began the Banquet and after they were announced Mia and Rota held hands while they walked out to take their seats, Jay was announced next and he followed.
