It had been stupid. Stupid to drink his blood, Meguitte told herself as she tried to rescue as much of her workspace as possible. She did not think she would come to any harm from it, however, despite his belief that he was somehow contagious. Vampires fed from all types of supernatural and never came to any harm from it. Talen and Harry were both regularly drinking from their werewolves… It was no different.

She was not entirely sure that she was convincing herself, and her stomach rolled and complained within her as if in disagreement with her logic. “Stupid,” she whispered as she distilled the black liquid from the saucepan into a jar. She closed her eyes and summoned her sparrows, her familiars reluctant to leave their roosts, but eventually diving in through the broken glass, causing the witches and Sigrid’s vampires to exclaim in surprise.

so much has happened. Been able to see the past of every character has been a blessing, an insight to why they are how they are. I still can't believe that Maguitte has gone through so much and has tried to see past it all and tried to see the good side of everyone. she has finally put her foot down
