Chapter 9

Sam and Robert were walking in the hallway when Charles suddenly called her.

"Where are you going, Ms. Wilson? Our meeting will start in 30 minutes." Charles said with his deep cold voice.

"Meeting?” Sam was startled. She was not aware of the meeting. While Robert furrowed his brows.

"Didn't my secretary inform you that we will have a lunch meeting with another client at Grand Hotel?" He was irritated by her reaction.

She thought of it deeply but she could not recall that they have a meeting. However, she turned and apologized to Robert.

"I am so sorry Robert. I overlooked my schedule today."

Charles raised one of his eyebrows when he heard her called Mr. Lee by his first name.

Robert smiled thinly and replied. “No worries, Sam. There would be a lot of next time."

Then, he took a glance at Charles before he turned to leave.

“I have no idea that you and Mr. Lee are close.”

Charles was very upset to see her with Mr. Lee. Moreover, to hear them so dearly to each other.

“Do you have to know my personal affairs?”

“So since when did you become close?

“Are we not leaving yet? We will be late.” She ignored his question, then she headed straight to the elevator.

Charles followed her inside the elevator. Then, they went together to Grand Hotel. They reached the hotel five minutes early.

“I will just go to the restroom.” Said Charles.

She nodded in acknowledgment. Then, she sat down. It seemed that they came earlier than the client.

After a few minutes, Charles came back and sat down as well. Their foods are being served already but she’s wondering why the client did not arrive yet.

“Who’s the client that are we going to meet?” She asked curiously.

“Eat your food before it turned cold.” Charles did not answer her question.

“Do we really have a client meeting? She started to doubt.

“The client cancelled the meeting awhile ago.”

He only made an excuse. There was really no meeting. He asked Jayson earlier to make this reservation as he wanted to talk to her about the incident with Kelly. So he came up with a lie when he saw her leaving with Robert.

“Really? Then, I should go back to the office Mr. Davidson.”

She felt annoyed. She thought that Charles had made it all up. She was preparing to stand and leave but Charles held her arm to stop her.

Her face flushed red from the warm sensation she felt caused by his hands. Her heart raced, pounding so fast. It was a totally electrifying feeling.

She swayed her arm to break free from his grasp.

“Is escaping really your hobby?”

“What was this all about Mr. Davidson? There’s really no meeting, isn’t it?” She could not hold it anymore, so she asked straightly.

“Yes.” He admitted.

She was no longer surprised by his answer as she had doubts already. She raised her perfectly arched eyebrows.

“I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier.” He continued.

“There’s nothing to talk about it, Mr. Davidson. I don’t care what Ms. Young had told you.” She felt disgusted when he mentioned Kelly.

“I watched the surveillance video from the cafe.” He stared at Sam with his deep dark eyes.

She suddenly looked up at him deeply. She thought that he was going to reprimand her. But it was the other way around.

“What did she tell you?” He asked earnestly.

“It doesn’t matter whatever she told me.” She crossed her legs then answered with a blank facial expression indicating that she did not care.

“I see. Let’s eat so we can go back to the office after.” He changed the topic and started eating.

Sam also began to eat. She did not want to waste the dishes on the table. Besides, she was already hungry.

After they finished their meal, they went back to the office.

Everyone was busy as they will be launching soon their latest series of

mobile phone. They will have a midnight launch on the 15th of this month. Almost everyone including the public is so excited and looking forward to the launch.

Even though their mobile phones are quite expensive, the customers continue to patronage every model they released as they are really satisfied with its quality that made its price worthy.

This latest mobile phone is called the MY14 series with three different models. MY14 Ultra Bionic chips past every other mobile phone. From its better battery performance to its camera system that turns dim-light photography to the highest definition ever. MY14 series is also the best waterproof phone that will be released in the market. These new models are expected to be with the best specifications so far.

As Marketing Manager, Henry was in-charged of promotional campaigns and marketing collaterals for the launching. While Sam, as the main contact person and an authorized representative of major banks, she’s assisting Henry to seek support from banks to help them announce to the public.

The following day, Sam received again a bouquet of red roses. There’s still no name card on it from the sender.

“Hmph! You’re now keeping a secret from me. Who’s your suitor this time?” Cindy approached her with a sullen face.

“What are you saying? I also don’t know who’s sending these flowers. I thought it was Henry, but he refutes. Aside from him, I don’t have any idea.” She said while putting down the flowers.

“Hmn… I smell something fishy. Don’t you think it must be Mr. Davidson?” Cindy was holding her chin making a wild guess who was the mysterious sender.

“I don’t think so.” She said mindlessly.

“Why not you ask the flower shop?

“I already did, I even asked the delivery man but they also did not know. They said that the sender ordered online.” She said helplessly.
