The Pack's Cruelty

Davina’s POV

I could barely stand. My body was shaking, my stomach was also twisting seriously in pain, and the sour taste of vomit was still burning my throat. My knees felt weak, but I forced myself to straighten. I refused to let them see me like this. But the worst part was that I didn't know what was wrong with me. I wanted to run away but I couldn't.

I had survived seeing my mate reject me, choose someone else as his mate and Luna, so why can't I survive hearing that they were going to mate? What the hell is going on with me?

Through my pain, I could see people’s irritation; some were not even hiding it. I was hearing disgusting things about me. I don't really blame them though. I had acted up during the succession ceremony and now this?

I tried not to give Lyra the satisfaction of seeing me or believing that I was hurt but I couldn't. I was hurting but it wasn't from what I heard but from whatever that was going on with me. In my body.

But then, insults were

The TransformationDavina’s POVIt started as a dull ache in my chest, spreading like wildfire through my veins. My body trembled, every nerve inside of me was set ablaze. I clutched my arms, gasping, but the pain only intensified. I hadn't felt this kind of pain even when my mate's bond with Malcom was broken.“What is happening to me?Something was wrong.Or maybe...something was changing."Look at her!" someone jeered. "She can't even stand!"“Very weak girl.”Laughter rippled through the crowd, but I barely heard it over the roaring in my ears. I could barely see. The world spun. Every bone in my body felt like it was breaking all at once.I felt real, raw excruciating, all-consuming pain. Then, it was.A sickening crack echoed through the hall. My legs buckled as white-hot agony tore through me.I screamed.I dropped to my knees, my fingers clawing at the dirt as if I could ground myself, as if I could stop whatever was happening inside me. My breath came in ragged gasps, my visi

The Great EscapeDavina’s POVFor the first time in my life…I felt powerful.I was looking at myself. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Why did it take so long? After taking insults? Oh, mine.Recalling everything I had been through, the ill-treatment, cruel words, the endless humiliation…I didn't know how to contain my joy. It felt too real to be true. I wasn’t that weak girl anymore. I wasn’t an Omega crawling in the dirt, begging for scraps of kindness. That omega that everyone wants to control, punish, and use as a punching bag.I was something else, something more and beautiful. I was sure Lyra and her mother weren't going to like this. I have my freedom now.“Seize her!”The Alpha’s voice rang through my ears, loud and commanding.I barely had a second to react before the warriors rushed forward. Why was he trying to capture me? Did I commit any crime? Everyone was supposed to be happy that our pack had experienced something beautiful. As I was wondering, I saw their huge Mu

Lost and AloneDavina’s POVThe cold seeped into my bones before I even opened my eyes. My body was deeply aching, the pain was sharp and also running through my limbs like I had been trampled by a stampede. My skin prickled against the rough forest floor, and a chill ran through me. I looked down, I was naked. Totally. I gasped as the realization hit me first, before anything else. I wrapped my arms around myself instinctively, as if I could shield myself from the exposure, but it did nothing against the biting cold. My fingers dug into the dirt, and I tried to calm my fear, but my chest felt tight, like something heavy was pressing down on it. I tried to remember everything that had happened and finally, it came. The memories. Flashes of what happened tore through my mind in broken, and disjointed pieces. The pain, the unbearable agony of my bones snapping, reforming, twisting into something unnatural. The heat that burned through my body, the feeling of my skin stretching, tearin

Davina’s POV Marked by ScarsI started hearing footsteps. At first, it sounded distant but as I kept hearing it, it was getting closer and closer.I was scared. What should I do? Are they coming? Or was it something else? While I was contemplating on what to do, the footsteps got very close and stopped. I turned my head slowly, my pulse was hammering in my heart.“Please, please, don't hurt me.” I prayed to myself rather than to him. And then, from the back of the trees, there he was, talking tall and strong. His piercing gaze was locked onto me with quiet intensity.I didn't know what to do. I couldn't run and even if I did, there was no way I was going to run faster than this demigod I was seeing.I swallowed hard, trying to catch my breath as I took a small step back.“Who are you?” His voice was deep, strong, but not unkind. I opened my mouth, but the words wouldn’t come.He tilted his head, studying me, and then his expression changed a bit as curiosity flickered across his fa

Davina’s POVFinding My Voice And as we walked through the trees, my small body was wrapped in my coat as I held it tight, I couldn’t shudder at the feeling that I had just made a decision that would change everything. But then I couldn't stop. The forest stretched endlessly before us, the ground was still cold beneath my bare feet. Each walk I took felt like I was walking on ice, my body was still aching, and I was exhausted. However, the coat Eris had given me was now getting loose on my body, I didn't know if it was because of cold, or because I wasn't holding it too tight anymore. I was hungry and holding that coat too tight was dragging away my little strength.I kept my gaze on the ground, watching the way the leaves crunched softly as I walked. I could feel his eyes on me. I didn't know why he was still staring at me.We had been walking for what felt like hours, though I had no real sense of time. I began to get worried. The Burden of the PastDavina’s POVI followed the woman without any complaints or hesitation. I didn't know where they were taking me until we got to a room.“Here’s your room. Where you’d be staying from now.” the woman gestured towards the room smiling. I flashed her a smile that didn't reach my eyes.“Do you like it?” I haven't seen the inside and there’s no way I would tell her no. So, I nodded without looking at her. Then, she smiled again and took my hands and we walked inside. The room they gave me was small but warm. It had a wooden bed that sat against the far wall, it was covered in thick furs.I saw a small table with a single chair resting in the corner, and a basin of water had been left for me to wash. The scent of burning firewood drifted in from a crack beneath the door, and somewhere outside, I could hear the muffled sounds of voices. pack members were talking, and going about their lives, it seemed that they didn't care about the stranger that came into their pack.

Davina’s POV “Davina!” A voice pulled me from sleep. It sounded deep and familiar. I stirred, and my body tense before my mind even caught up. As I opened my eyes, the room was a bit dark, but it was already morning. I could hear some voices outside my room. The early morning sun barely crept through the small window. “Who might be calling my name? Hope I haven't done anything wrong?” I thought to myself. Then I heard it again. “Davina.” I turned my head slowly. Alpha Eris stood near the door, watching me carefully. He looked… relaxed. His pose was casual, his arms were crossed over his chest, and his lips curved into amusement. Which made me wonder why he was amused. It was strange. I had only ever seen Alphas look at me with disgust, anger, or worse…indifference. Never this. I swallowed, and gripped the blanket tighter. Maybe it was another cruel way. “Finally awake,” he said, strolling closer to me. While still keeping his gaze on me. “You sleep like you were in a coma. H

Strength is Earned Eris’s POV Davina was struggling. It wasn’t obvious to most, but I saw it. I could clearly see through her no matter how hard she tried to cover it up. The way she moved through the packhouse, barely making a sound. The way she darted her eyes around, like she expected a blow at any moment or even scared. The way she stiffened when someone spoke to her, like she was waiting, always waiting for cruelty. Sometimes she spends her days or even weeks indoors and shivers when someone comes around. She kept her distance. Not just from me, but from everyone. And I let her for a while. I wanted her to have her space. She needed time. A chance to adjust, to heal. But hiding wasn’t healing. Avoiding people wasn’t learning how to stand on her own. And I couldn’t watch her wither away in that room any longer. She is part of us now and it’s high time she starts becoming one. So, I made a decision. She needed to see what strength looked like, She needed to see that it wasn’t

The Struggle BeginsEris’s POVI had seen warriors break before. I had seen their struggles and weaknesses but Davina is one of the most determined I had ever seen.I had watched men, twice Davina’s size, crumble under the pressure of training. But there was something different about her. She wasn't strong in the body, but she was strong in the mind. And that helped her not to break. It helped her to struggle to stand anytime she went down. As I kept watching her, I felt so much joy and happiness despite the fact that she barely had a chance. And I watched every moment of her fall.At first, I let Nadia handle her. Davina was stiff, clumsy, and painfully slow. Every move she made was predictable, and every time she tried to attack, Nadia countered it effortlessly.I leaned against a tree, with my arms crossed, silently observing as Nadia knocked Davina to the ground again. Over and over again. I am not one to show emotions but I felt really sorry for her.Davina gasped for breath, dir

A Promise to Myself Davina’s POV I was still standing in the same position on the left, still watching. The training grounds were filled with cries, groans, and strength. I admired them a lot but I couldn't do it. Alpha Eris had left me alone after inviting me here, giving me space to decide for myself. I appreciated that. But now, as I watched the warriors spar, I wasn’t sure if this was something I could handle. I hated how weak I was, I hated how fear still had its claws deep in me. But training like this? My eyes followed a particularly brutal match between two warriors, both were young men, their bodies were covered in sweat, and they had serious faces on. They moved with speed and precision, their fists slammed into each other, bones cracked, and growls tore through the atmosphere. And when one of them finally hit the ground, gasping for breath, the other didn’t stop. I guess there was no mercy and hesitation here. The downed warrior barely had time to roll before anothe

Davina’s POVThey didn’t think I belonged here. They don't like me here.I heard them before I saw them, their voices were slithering through the cracks of the wooden door as I sat curled up on the bed. I hadn't done anything wrong for them to even dislike me. I barely go out. So why the hate? It's okay to be suspicious but the hate was too extreme. How do I get comfortable around here? How do I feel safe when most of the pack members don't even like me?“She’s still here?” a woman whispered, her voice sounded sharp with irritation. It was so obvious in her voice.A low scoff followed. “Of course she is. Our Alpha’s little pet.”“I wonder what Alpha sees in her.”My stomach twisted. I leaned forward, straining my ears to hear more.“She’s weak,” another voice chimed in. “Barely speaks. I don’t get what Alpha Eris sees in her. We have beautiful and strong females in this pack that fits the position of Luna. I don't know why he doesn't see us.”I was beyond shocked. Alpha Eris doesn't e

Eris’ POV She Was Still Afraid of Me. I could see it in the way she tensed whenever I entered the room. The way her eyes darted to the door, like she was measuring the distance, calculating how fast she could run if she needed to. She hadn’t run yet either had she tried to push me off. That was definitely something. But it wasn't satisfying to me. I had hoped that she’d be free with me. Allow me to care for her. “Brought you something,” I said, holding up a tray. After her last nightmare, I had leveled up the amount of care and love I'd shown her. Davina barely glanced at it before curling her knees to her chest. She was perched on the edge of the bed, looking smaller than ever, she wrapped her thin arms around herself like she was trying to disappear. Or as if that would protect her. I sighed, setting the tray on the small table near the window. “You need to eat. You're not looking healthy enough to me.” However, she gave me the same cold response. No response at all. It
