Kit walked in the room and instantly wanted to leave it. She hated saying goodbye. She looked at the growing abdomen that held the twins she had begun to think of as her children, and she wanted to cry know this was the last time she would be able to see them. June and the twins had been the center of her life with Mitsuhide. This was the last thing to remove his memory from her mind. It was the hardest as well.
It was later than he would normally come, so she knew she was safe from having to see him. she placed the box on the nightstand by June’s bed. It had his name written on the top of it. She took off the headphones that had her voice talking and turned off the mp3 player and placed it on the nightstand as well. They didn’t have
Mitsuhide took Kit back to her house, where he went on to show her how much he missed her the past few weeks and also how much he did truly love her. It started with a simple back rub and then progressed. He knew he would spend the rest of his life paying for that one mistake, if only his mind. He knew it had cost them both something that he wished he could completely take back, but he knew he couldn’t. He also, for the first time, realized the simple power of love in those hours. She was willing to say goodbye to all that she had come to love only because of him and his words and actions. She had been broken and defeated but she still had the heart to want to say goodbye to June and the twins because simply her heart wouldn’t let h
Time passed again in the way it always does. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Though Mitsuhide wanted Kit back on the base but she kept her offices in the hospital to be closer if anything happened to June and the twins. It was a debate they had almost daily. She had decided to keep the post, but she would work via link from now on. Life was moving on, and so were they. After a debate on him moving into the house which he had won. All of Mitsuhide’s things had been moved to her house, and they were striving to make everything work between them. They were stronger now that they at least knew the basic truth of the situation. They knew they were stronger together anyways.
The idea was to get June to at least thirty-three weeks and no more than thirty-six. The fact that the two boys were growing at a normal rate for a singleton pregnancy was proving to be difficult for the doctors to work with, but they were trying. There were many discussions not that June was at thirty-three weeks but possibly further along. No one knew exactly how to go on with her treatment. June was a medical marvel at this point, not only surviving through to this point in the pregnancy but the fact she was carrying two what seemed to be full-sized healthy babies. The team of doctors met every day via video conferencing and had to discuss the outcome of the c-section that would be done. The main reason was they had given June some blood thi
When she got to work, she checked in with the morgue and saw there were only two bodies there, and both had been assigned to the other doctors there. She knew they were cutting her workload the closer to the time that June was going to have the babies. Her boss, who had taken an interest in the case on a personal level through the news reports on it, was shocked to find out that she was a part of it at all. As the time went on, he had been changing her hours and working with her to find anything that could be of help to June or the twins. Most of the doctors around her had been doing that and even debating the outcomes of new treatments. Everyone had stepped up and tried to help at some point. It was a good feeling that she was supported by her co-workers, who understood the nature of the case. Everyone was trying to hunt done
“What the hell do you mean it is time?” Mitsuhide called out after her as she had turned out the door and started to her car.“June is in labor.” Kit said as she called over her shoulder. “Sometime when we were in there, she started to have contractions. They are moving her and trying to stop them. Simon was trying to reach us the entire time we were in there.”“Can they?” Mitsuhide said as he caught up to her and then almost started jogging to his car. The conversation was continuing as they both got in their cars, and they basically yelling across the parking lot. Neither one of them care if everyone could hear wha
“But it is still too early for them,” Mitsuhide said as he thought about what she said. A fear washed over him for a minute as he looked around to all the activity going on around him. “They have to stop it.”“Twins naturally come early. Mitsuhide, we have everyone and everything doing what needs to be done. Even a few more hours is good right now. Though they will have to keep an eye on her because of the surgery but everything is going to the plan they set out for this happening. She is really at thirty-four plus weeks, and most importantly, we know this is happening right now, and she is here where they can do what they need, too, when they need too. From the last ultrasound, they both are measuring closer to thi
Kit walked into the operating room prepared to act if she was needed. This was still her mindset, and she knew that was also the reason Mitsuhide wanted her in there with his sister. He would be behind the doors watching as everything happened through a window so they both could see their sons being born. She stood at the end of the table where June’s head was, and she looked down at her. Life was going to change in the next five minutes. All because Mitsuhide’s sister made it this far. She bent down, “It is almost over, June.” The doctors all were in their places. There were two tables set up for the teams of pediatricians to work on the two on the side of the room. Everythi
The hours passed by though neither of them was ready to admit that it seemed like only a few minutes. They didn’t have to say anything between them as they looked at the two small sleeping newborns. Both of the adults were making plans for the next few days. They began to hear a ruckus outside the room and in the main hallway of the ward. Kit was the first one on her feet and to the door to look out into the ward. The boys were still sleeping soundly, and she wanted to see if there was a problem, and if she could help. Before they woke up and they had to only focus on the babies. She poked her head out of the roo
Four months later…….Kit was lying in the hospital bed tired with beads of perspiration still running down her forehead as Mitsuhide refused to leave her side for even a second. He looked at her, and then he craned his neck to the two small creatures that were taking up most of the attention in the room. “Let’s get you finished up here, and then you can see them both.” The doctor said as Mitsuhide began wiping her forehead again.“You did
Kit and Mitsuhide stood at the entranceway to the vined archway that led into the butterfly garden. It was now past dusk but not yet fully dark. The lights shimmered around them as they just held hands. Today had been a celebration of life, and it had turned out better than either of them could hope for. This would have made June happy. The three weeks of planning since the day after the explosion had taken their toll on the pair. Though they had finally managed to make everything come together into a wonderful day event that not only celebrated June’s life but the two lives, she brought forth into the world. Kit’s sisters had made sure that Sara was
They got everything ready to go to the courthouse for the day. She knew taking them would set her family off, and she didn’t care. She wanted Cindy to see that the babies were hers now, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Mitsuhide also knew why Kit wanted this, and though he didn’t like the idea of using the babies, he would go along with it because everything she had done for him in the past, she never wanted anything in return. However, this one thing she wanted to do. He thought to himself if this helps her, in the end, it could not hurt. He would be there, and nothing could hurt them or her if he was. They loaded their car and started off to the courthouse. “Are you sure you want them to be there?” he ask
Kit knew for the rest of the week she was going to hear from her family in the vicious cycle that they loved to run rampant with. Kirsten’s arrest and the charges that were pending that involved Kit were on the forefront of everyone’s minds. However, it was the fact that she was also being charged with conspiracy along with her mother on some, if not all, of the same charges. That made them all pause for a little bit and start to think about everything that Cindy was charged with. Kirsten snapped in the interrogation room and would not stop talking. She went on and on about the entire plan and how it was a perfect way for her and her mother to bond. She would get the accolades of being a
As Kit looked out into the backyard, she could see the pieces of trash thrown everywhere that was coated in the slimy concoction that looked like congealed blood. It was something that could inspire horror movies from the looks of it. She understood why Mitsuhide didn’t want her to see it or the other guys in the house as well. She knew they would downplay anything just to keep her calm. She almost smiled at that. She knew they all were trying. Things were looking like that other shoe was falling right now. She took a deep breath and turned around and looked at the door for a minute. She walked back into the house and then looked around at the men standing there. They were all looking at her like she was going to explode. Instead, she look
“That was perfect.” The DA said to her as they walked back to the room where the witnesses were being held. She had almost forgot about the things that went on before she took the stand. She was riding a high of knowing that she probably sealed the deal on Cindy’s conviction with her testimony. She was smiling when she entered the room. It was beyond a smile, though. It was that she was beaming in a way. She knew after that Cindy would be put away for the longest possible time. All because her lawyer brought it up.“That is a nice look,” Mitsuhide said as he looked at his wife who was smiling with the happiest smile, he had seen her with, probably ever. “What is for?”
Mitsuhide was called up to the stand first. He had to go over the things that he saw firsthand on his sister’s condition in the facility. They were trying to make it seem like he was crazy for noticing things. As the records were doctored at some point and everyone knew that by now, they had the proof but wanted to give the human element to the case. He knew it was going to be this type of questioning. “And what happened after you came to the facility after you were informed of your sister’s condition?” The Da asked as he walked around the open space.“The first night, I was accused of po
She looked around the room they would be in most of the day and saw that a few of the other families were there along with the young infants with them. It seemed no one was going to take a chance with the welfare of the babies in question. Six half-siblings that were born a week apart and most of them on the same day. This was the end result of the actions taken by one delusional woman. Kit had to sit down as she looked around and saw them all in one place except for theirs who were at home being guarded by an entire team of special forces.“Where are your two?” One woman asked. Kit remembered her from the care facility as being the sister of one of the women. She held the baby girl close to her.
As expected, Cindy did not take the deal that was offered. She said she thought a jury would understand her plight with everything in her life and why she had to do what she did. Kit was beyond angry about the whole thing, knowing they would all be dragged through a trail and have to relive everything again. Now they had, even more, to deal with, with the upcoming trial. The prosecution already had everything ready because of the trail before. It was all going to happen quickly, and then they hoped things could calm down for all the families involved.Kit and Mitsuhide were both going to be called as witnesses. They would have to talk about the things they had tried very hard to forget on the stand. Everything was getting to her right now though
