NIKLAUS

I stood in the dimly lit hallway, my mother McKenna's eyes shining with a mix of worry and determination as she gazed up at me.

"Klaus, be careful," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "You and your team are taking a huge risk by going into that facility. But I know you have to try. Max needs you."

I nodded, feeling a surge of resolve. "We'll get her out, Mom. I promise."

McKenna's eyes searched mine, as if looking for any sign of doubt or hesitation. But I knew she wouldn't find any. I was determined to rescue Max, no matter what it took.

My team was waiting for me outside, their faces set with determination. Jax, Lena, Eric, and Pen - we'd all been through so much together, and I knew I could count on them to have my back.

McKenna reached out and grasped my arm, her grip tight. "Come back to me, Klaus," she whispered. "All of you, come back to me."

I smiled, trying to reassure her. "We will, Mom. We'll be back before you know it, with Max safe and sound."

LENAI crept through the dimly lit corridor, Eric by my side. We'd been tasked with getting to the general surveillance room and installing a device that would give River and EVE access to the Synod's security system. As we approached the room, I could feel the familiar buzz of the security men's thoughts. They were bored, tired, and completely unaware of our presence.I focused my mind, reaching out to the guards with a gentle, persuasive touch. "You're tired," I whispered, my voice echoing in their minds. "You need to rest. Just take a little nap, and everything will be fine."The guards' thoughts began to slow, their minds growing cloudy and disoriented. Eric and I exchanged a quick glance, and then we moved swiftly, with a quick move taking out the guards with silent efficiency, trying our best to remain quiet.Eric had always been faster, more resilient but Jax was impatient and liked to play hero, one thing we all had in common, we wanted a different world. one filled with peace

NIKLAUS As I held Max, I expected her to look relieved and happy to see someone coming to rescue her, I was damn wrong. But instead, she resisted, pushing me away with a look of confusion and fear."Who are you?!" she yelled, her voice shaking with a show of energy I didn't think she still had, tugging and forcing her way out of my hand.I didn't have time to explain, not with the alarms blaring and the agents closing in. "I'm here to help you, Max!" I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "We have to get out of here, now!" I tried calming her down a loud shriek from her followed as a surge of energy crossed through her screams launching me to the other side of the room even breaking the glass slide doors. She was powerful and extremely stubborn, I should have never taken off her collar. I had prepared for something like this. I had a smaller one for her feet and I was definitely going to use it. Before I could collect myself she was already gone, running her way through the hallway

HENRY I stood outside the superintendent's office, my heart sinking with a sense of foreboding. My team stood beside me, their faces somber as this is the second time a subject under our care had escaped and I felt utterly useless because I was not around to stop the infiltration."Ah, Henry," the superintendent's voice called out, his tone stern. "Come in."We filed into the office, taking our seats in front of the superintendent's desk. He looked at us over the rim of his reading glasses, his expression unyielding."I'm sure you're all aware of the recent... incidents, it is so recent it happened yesterday" he began, his voice dripping with disdain and irritation. "The escape of Maxine Wilson, the infiltration by Vortex... it's a disaster. We failed New Eden and to think we had things under control?"I felt a surge of defensiveness, but I bit it back. We had failed, and we knew it."What happened, Henry?" the superintendent demanded, his eyes boring into mine. "How did this happen

ARLOI stood in front of the camera, my expression grave and concerned. Behind me, the cityscape of New Eden gleamed in the sunlight, a stark contrast to the darkness I was about to unleash."Ladies and gentlemen of New Eden," I began, my voice somber. "I come to you today with a grave announcement. Maxine Wilson, the young woman with extraordinary abilities beyond an NX-5, has escaped from our facility."I paused, letting the weight of my words sink in."But this is not just a simple escape," I continued, my voice dripping with concern. "Maxine has used her powers to break free, and we have reason to believe that she was aided in her escape by rogue elements from Vortex the resistance group. They are brainwashing people to think we are posing a threat to them when that is not the case. I have footage of Maxine using her powers" I notioned for the clip of Maxine to play and it began to display behind me and I gave way for the video to be shown. I shook my head, my expression sorrowfu

MAXINE My head didn't hurt for the first time since the party, I felt somewhat comfortable as I yawned myself awake. I took a quick survey of the room they placed me in, the walls, floor, and ceiling are all made of a sleek, silver metal that seems to glow with a soft, ethereal light. As I sit up, I notice that the bed I'm on is actually a pod, complete with a transparent lid and a complex system of wires and tubes that seem to be monitoring my vital signs. The pod is surrounded by a series of holographic displays that flicker and dance with intricate patterns of light and color. The room itself is small, with a low ceiling that makes me feel a little claustrophobic. But despite the cramped quarters, the space is surprisingly luxurious, with a plush, white carpet that feels like silk beneath my feet. The air is cool and clean, with a faint scent of ozone that makes me feel like I'm breathing in the future. As I look around, I notice a series of strange, glowing orbs that seem to be e

MAXINE I wandered through the corridors, my eyes scanning the unfamiliar surroundings. I had been here for a day now, but I still couldn't shake off the feeling of unease after McKenna's explanation. Everywhere I looked, I saw strangers, people who seemed to know more about me than I knew about myself. As I turned a corner, I stumbled into a tall, imposing figure. His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. It was the man who had rescued me from Synod."Well, well, well," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Look what we have here. The little bird who's finally awake."I narrowed my eyes, my anger simmering just below the surface. "And look what we have here," I retorted, my voice laced with venom. "The arrogant jerk who thinks he's a hero, you know a lot of things could have been avoided if you had told me who you were."Klaus chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "And yet you seemingly saw the need to throw to the other side of the r

MAXINE It had been a couple more days since I got here and a sense of inclusivity was settling in. I was sitting in the common room, trying to make sense of the stack of books and documents that McKenna had given me to study. My mind was reeling with all the new information, and I was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.Just as I was about to give up, a bright and bubbly voice interrupted my thoughts."Hi! Mind if I join you?"I looked up to see a girl with curly brown hair and a warm, friendly smile. She was carrying a large stack of books and looked like she was about to topple over."Uh, no, not at all," I said, trying to hide my surprise. The girl plopped down beside me, sending books tumbling everywhere. "I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, laughing. "I'm such a clumsy oaf sometimes."I couldn't help but laugh at her infectious enthusiasm. "It's okay, I'm Maxine," I said, holding out my hand."Alice!" she replied, shaking my hand vigorously. "It's so nice to meet you, Maxine! I've hea

MAXINE I let out a sigh of relief as I sat on the hospital bed, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I had just finished a series of tests, and to my surprise, they hadn't hurt at all. I was expecting some discomfort, but it seemed that my body was more resilient than I thought and Synod were just pure evil.Just as I was starting to relax, McKenna and Klaus walked into the room, carrying a stack of files and looking like they meant business. "Maxine, we have your test results," McKenna said, a hint of a smile on her face.I nodded, feeling a sense of curiosity. What did the tests show? Was everything okay?Klaus began to rattle off a list of tests they had run, including my MRI scan, technical tests, energy tests, and blood tests. ALICE I stood alongside River, watching as Cora's daughter, Elle played in the park below us. She was a sweet girl, with a contagious laugh and a mop of curly brown hair. River and I had been keeping an eye on her for weeks now, making sure she was safe and happy. It was a big responsibility, but we were both committed to making sure she was protected. As we watched, the little girl climbed to the top of the jungle gym and slid down, squealing with delight. River and I exchanged a smile, and I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. Just then, River turned to me and asked, "Hey, have you heard from Max lately?" I thought for a moment before responding. Max had been through a lot in the past few months, and she was still dealing with the aftermath of everything that had happened. "She's doing okay, I think," I said finally. "She's still processing everything, but she's getting there. She's been spending a lot of time with Klaus, and that seems to be helping her." River nodde

"I've been waiting for you. You see, I've been playing a little game with all of you. A game of cat and mouse, where I've been pulling the strings all along."He leaned forward, his eyes glinting with excitement. And my real plan was to create a new world order, with me at the helm."I felt a surge of anger and disgust, but I kept my cool, listening intently to Arlo's words."The citizens of this city have been so foolish," he continued, his voice dripping with contempt. "You fools," I spat, my voice venomous. "You've let your emotions cloud your judgment, and now you've lost everything."Henry and Cora exchanged a nervous glance, and I could see the fear lurking behind their eyes. They knew they had messed up, and they knew I was not happy."You were supposed to keep Alice captive at least, Cora," I growled, my eyes narrowing at her. "You were supposed to use her as leverage to get what we want. But instead, you let her escape. And you, Henry, you were supposed to take care of Max, but instead, you let her get the better of you."Henry's face reddened with anger, but I cut him off before he could speak. "No, Hen

"He wants me to meet him at the location he just sent to me." Klaus's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "We'll go with you," he said, his voice low. "What are you doing here?" I took a deep breath, my words tumbling out in a rush. "Father, I'm sorry....For the neglect all this while, but there's something important I need to tell you." My father's expression softened, a look of surprise and gratitude on his face. "Henry, I... I forgive you. I love you, son." I felt a pang of guilt, knowing what I was about to do. While River led the other few set of Vortex resistant out to the new hideout, I and some others were still left trying to clear up everything else. Suddenly a loud bang, followed by the breaking in of Synod agents accompanied by Arlo himself. I cowered in the corner, my eyes fixed on the chaos unfolding before me. Arlo had arrived, flanked by Cora and a team of Synod agents. They were destroying everything, tearing apart the Vortex hideout that had been my home for so long. As I watched, Arlo's eyes scanned the room, his gaze lingering on each face before moving on. And then, his eyes met mine. For a moment, we just stared at each other. I expected him to react, to show some sign of recognition or emotion. But instead, he just kept looking at me, his expression blank. It was as if he didn't even see me. And I want you to make sure that he pays for his crimes by my hand." Arlo's expression changed, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes.
