Chapter 6. The Monster Wolf

* Prince Vincent *

"Vincent!?"

She utters my name followed by her sudden movement, standing from the chair where her two companions follows her gaze in surprise. The man who's back is facing me stiffened and he slowly moves to turn his shoulder towards me and then I felt his gaze ran all over me.

My eyes which is connected to Ashley turn away from her and check on the man. His eyes are dark and his face became even darker when our eyes locked. I couldn't be mistaken, he is the enemy who we've been looking for in the past thirty six hours now! So he is here!

"What are you doing here Prince Vincent?"

Ashley spoke again making her voice break the eye contact I had with the enemy. I cleared my  throat, ignoring the shock exchange of glances between Caleb and Alex. I am sure they have notice the man too.

"Oh! Hi there Ash."

I stood up from my seat and move forward closer to the table that she and her friends are sitting. The old woman beside her took a questioning look at me and the rest of the guys that are with me in our table.

"I am here on business and nothing more, I hope you can calm down Ash. Rest assured that I won't even open up the issue between you and me a long time ago. I honor my word Ashley."

Her lips sealed tight in a thin line and she look away while her gaze move back to her companions around their table thinking if she should introduce me to them or not. I kept my cool while feeling the air between us and the man pretending to be normal sitting at their table.

"Oh! Forgive me Mister Richardson, where are my manners? Please meet Vincent Langston a longtime friend of my family. I believe that he is staying in my hotel too for business."

She flashes a genuine smile for the man and continues. "Mister Langston, meet Mr. Sam Richardson a hotel owner in the West just like myself."

The man smiled back at her and then look at me. "Nice meeting you Mister Langston, your name sounds familiar."

His smile is lopsided when he stand up to extend his hand towards me for a handshake. "Likewise Mr. Richardson, you must have heard my family name from the wolves of the West. I am Prince Vincent, son of the Alpha King if you knew him then you should consider yourself known to me."

His hand stop in mid air, I know now that after hearing my complete name something inside him stirred and the two men sitting at the nearby table harshly drag their seats backwards and stormed in front of us. Before he could pull his hand back away I managed to take it firmly.

"Agh!"

He grunted as my hand squeeze his fingers. Ashley notice the tension in the air and the way I am holding the hand of her guest.

"What's wrong with you Vincent? Please let go of Mr. Richardson's hand now!"

She saw how the veins in my arm flex and the face of the man in front of me turning red. He look hurt but still pretends to be normal, I know that any second his real identity will come out in front of us. Just then another man speaks.

"Is there a problem Miss Snipes? Can I take this man out of this hotel?"

The old man standing beside a younger man behind me tried to get to us. I fake a smile but I keep holding the hand of my enemy.

"No, Donald please stay back. Mister Langston will not be a problem."

Ashley stop the old man from interfering, just then I put more force to the handshake. Making the enemy unable to hold back anymore. "Let go of my hand Mr. Langston or this place is gonna turn ugly."

Caleb and Alex who have heard his words immediately stand up against their seats and walk towards us, alerting the two companions of Mr. Richardson.

"Guys, what's going on here? Not in my hotel alright. If there is a problem between you and Mr. Langston please I suggest you take it outside Mr. Richardson."

Ashley tried to be calm while convincing herself that she can handle everything, the old woman beside her grab her arms. "Let's get out of here Ashley, I don't trust this people."

"Listen to her Ash! It's better for both of you to get out of here now!"

Her eyes turned wide when I slightly raised my voice in order to emphasize the meaning of my words.

"Oh! she can stay, I will gladly let the woman in your dreams watch you fall down in your knees and beg for your life Prince Vincent!"

His eyes changes into pitch black as he stares back at me in deep anger. Ashley saw how the veins in his neck bulges and i feel the pressure as his hands hold me back as right as he could.

"Get out Ashley! Take your friend with you and get out of the hotel now!"

I shouted, losing my own patience. She took a step back and grab the hands of her companion, they look at each other and come into agreement that I was right. They need to leave and not get involve into the fight since we are both non human.

"If you think you could protect her Vincent then you are wrong!"

My enemy hissed.

"Run Ashley!"

I warned her and so she did. The two men look at each other and ran after her while she and the old woman run out of the restaurant. "Alex! Caleb! Follow them, don't let anything happen to Ashley no matter what!"

"Yes your majesty!"

They both went before them as I feel my jaw twist when the fist of my enemy landed in my jawline without my defense, I was caught off guard taking all my attention into making sure that she will be alright.

I fell into the table, breaking it into half and causing the plates and glasses above it to shatter against the concrete floor. The noise it created alerted the few people who are eating inside the restaurant. They all shouted in fear when all of a sudden the man who just punch me transformed into a big bad wolf.

His long and sharp claws scratch the ground as he look at me aiming for the kill. I wasted no time in changing into my wolf form to defend myself.

"Let's finish this!"

I stood my ground when he came forward smashing me to the walls. People run away, I know that everybody knows the creature like us exist however it is a rare occurrence that we fight in public and that humans get to see us in action. Any normal human being will get frightened by how we look.

"You will regret the day you considered me an enemy Vincent! You could have just made me your ally for you could never kill me!"

"Friend? Oh you are making me laugh!”

I laugh without humor when he spoke the words resulting into his assault. I defend myself with all the strength I have. It is either him or me, he should be the one to die.

"You are nothing but a prisoner to the Royal pack! What makes you think you are better than us? Or you could be an ally?”

His anger levels up due to the insult that he heard from me. I need to see his full strength, but I cannot allow him to bite me anymore. The poison almot killed me from last time.

"I will end you Prince Vincent! I apologize to the great Alpha King for losing his heir. He will have to find another one! But I think he won't be able to since I am killing him too. I will erase your bloodline in the face of the earth!”

He opened his mouth to reveal his sharp fangs, he aimed to bite me but I read his movements so I dodge.

"Not so fast rogue!"

I made a leap in the air high enough to make my legs kick him hard on the chest. I was sure to cut into his flesh as soon as my sharp claws connected with his stomach.

"Agh! You!"

He fell back in the walls causing the building to shake making the glass doors crack. I aimed for another attack when the sound coming from the police sirens echoes through the surroundings.

"Damned humans!"

He gritted his teeth and before I made a move he jump out of the balcony, disappearing into the ground. "Coward!"

I shouted in animosity as I followed his trail to the edge of the balcony. I don't want to follow him since I keep thinking about Ashley and what happened to her, now I need go keep her safe.
