Chapter 5. His Presence

It is already late in the evening when we reach the center of the City. A place where Hotel Blanca is located, her home. As I did not want to cause any commotion or attract the attention of her hotel employees, I told my friends to take the lower price and regular bedrooms. Unlike before, that we had the upper VIP floors right now we settled for a more simple and common space to stay.

"Are you sure about this your majesty?"

Alex curve his mouth in a dry smile while opening the door of a family room where the three of us is staying together.

"Yes! Now if you have any problem with this, go ahead and take the VIP room upstairs. But if the enemy notices you then you may have to deal with him alone."

His eyes widens and look at me, surprised by my sudden outburts.

"Oh! I apologize your majesty, I didn't mean to be rude with your choice tonight however.."

His eyes move around the length of the room as we all get inside to get some rest. Caleb raise his hand and wave it in front of Alex to shut him up. I am losing my patience and I feel irritable that I could not sense another presence of a wolf in the hotel.

The enemy must be staying at the higher floors which is very far from us but I could not smell anything out of ordinary from the lifts either. If our enemy is here they should be leaving a trace in the most common places like the elevators and hallways, but I find nothing at all.

"I am taking the shower first."

I declared while heading towards the common bath I think a cold water would help me cool off. Caleb nodded and began to fix my small luggage while Alex laid himself down in the bed at the corner. Three single beds in white sheets and covers, at least the room is very tidy and neat just as I expected.

The bathroom is a regular size with all the basic commodities present inside. I made the shower as fast as possible, as I need to make a small round at the hotel to check for possible sign of rogues in the area. Other wolves could not sense us, thanks to the help of Maleficus.

We are able to masked our scents by using the bottled perfumes he gave us in order to make the enemies unable to pick up our wolf's scents.

"All right, your turn Caleb."

I come out and notice that Alex is already in a deep sleep lying down with his clothes still on so I turn to look at Caleb with a grin on his face. "Someone is not really minding a good hygiene your majesty."

He walk to the bathroom door while I stood there watching Alex and shaking my head. I wanted to shake him to wake up but I think that he could be tired from the work we have done, tracking down the enemy who got out of the Langston palace's prison.

So I took a boxer shorts from the clothes that Caleb sorted out for me. I might take a few hours of sleep too before carrying out the task first thing in the morning. This should not be difficult, but I hope that the enemy will not think of including Ashley in our feud. I close my eyes and try to ignore the noise coming from Alex's snore inside the room, if I don't return in three days my father will come and bring more warriors to apprehend the enemy.

I don't want that to happen, my status will go down as the next Alpha King if I can't solve this one alone.

I might have slept for a couple of hours before the sun comes up and shine through the glass window, we have to get up.

"Good morning your majesty."

Alex just came out of the bath and is looking ready to face the day, far from how he looked like as I remember last night before I drifted off to sleep.

"Oh! Good morning Alex."

I get myself up and took a pair of fresh clothes from the closet before getting in the bath. "Wake Caleb up we're gonna head out to get breakfast in the restaurant upstairs."

"Sure thing!"

He grinned and I could almost tell how he would make Caleb wake up.

For some reasons that I could not tell, I'm still wondering why there is no scent of rogues surrounding the hotel. If this day ends without the presence of my enemy then we have no other choice but to look for him in a different location.

When I come out of the bathroom, both Caleb and Alex are already waiting for me.

"Let's go, I'm starving."

I stated while they walk behind me to the door of the bedroom that we occupied.

"Keep it low guys remember we should notice the enemy first, not the other way."

"Sure, your majesty!"

Both of them nodded and fell in silence until we reach the elevator, breakfast is on the second floor served in buffet at the hotel’s restaurant.

"Good morning sir!"

The security who stands on the entrance door greets us with a smile which I replied with an eye contact and a brief nod. As soon as I walk in the smell of food mixed with flowers of the wild filled the air inside the dining room. My eyes travelled from the uniformed waiters and waitresses to the chef and the hotel's attendants inside the room.

There are few people occupying the chairs and table around but my eyes caught the view of a table in the balcony. Seated outside in a table for three is Ashley and two other individuals, one is a woman and the other guy which I couldn't tell who.

"Come on guys let's grab some plates!"

Alex headed for the condiments and pick up some plates.

"I am taking the table at the balcony, follow me with a cup of coffee."

"Oh! Sure thing your majesty."

I heard Alex replies while Caleb joins him in getting food to fill their plates. I let them indulge in a conversation.

My feet took me to the nearest table from the three, Ashley and his friends. There is another table occupied by two other people who's eyes are also glued into Ashley and her companions. She look more dignified and elegant now, from her tailored top and skirt with a formal high heeled shoes. She is simply pretty and classy. Her soft smile playing on her lips is difficult not to look at, not to mention that I can smell her across the place.

I furrowed my brows when I notice something different, those two who is sitting not far from them smells like one of them is a wolf! And one more thing, I can feel an energy surrounding the very person who is in front of her. I need to get a closer look to him since his back is facing me, I could not tell his face specially his eyes. I need to see them.

“Your majesty, are you serious about taking just coffee? What a waste, the buffet table is so full of food.”

Alex whispered beside my ear as soon as they came with the tray of food on their hands. I stay silent thinking on a better idea. Caleb look at me and notice how I stay still observing everybody in the balcony. However, my ears are specifically listening to the table not far from us. Trying to understand their conversation and creating a plan to make them notice my presence.

“Oh! I can see what your looking at your majesty.”

Caleb commented following my gaze, and then Alex did the same and gasp as he notices her.

Ashley must have notice a set of eyes observing her for she turns her head and then our eyes locked. Hers surprised while I can't seem to look away, she still have those innocent doe like eyes which hypnotizes every man that she look at.

My mouth curved in a smile as I look at her deeply, forgetting our current situation and the people that surrounds us. Oh how I wish I wasn't there on a mission, that I came to visit her instead.
