SERENA’S POV

I felt really excited, but I didn’t want it to be known because I would seem so much like a beggar, or I had been waiting for it, all this while. “Alright then. Let’s head over to that store.” He said, gesturing for us to go over to the ice cream store.

I willingly followed him and when we walked into the store, the man at the counter smiled at us in awe.“If you both are couples, this would be so marvelous. You both look good together, and because of that, I’m going to add one scoop each for both of you.” He uttered, looking happy.

Lucas and I exchanged looks, and I couldn’t help but chuckle. When he added the scoops and handed it over to us, he smiled widely.“You both look so good together that it puts me a good mood. I’m certain if you both keep coming here, every single time you come, I’m going to keep adding a scoop to whatever flavor you buy.” He promised us happily.

Lucas smiled, and I wondered why he didn’t say a word when I expected him to. We weren’t couples, and

MARA’S POVToday was a really good one. After dinner, we watched some movies, had fun conversations, until wine spilled on my drink, and I had to go to the bathroom to clean up.After cleaning up, and washing it, I realized I didn’t bring an extra dress, and only wrapped the towel around my body, wondering what I was going to do. But then, a knock came on the door, and Mike came in, without wasting a second. He was with a new dress.“I just thought you might need one.” He uttered, but his eyes were saying a different thing. The way he stared lustfully at my body, magically turned me on, and my desire for him, got so intense that I didn’t know when he got so close to me, and our e

SERENA’S POVThe next day, I got down from the bed, and checked the time on my phone. It was morning, and the date was 14th. Also, I definitely remembered my actions from last night when I woke up until when I finally went back to bed.I stepped into the bathroom, and washed up, ready for the day. I just couldn’t wait to get to the hospital which Mara wanted to take me to. To know what was really wrong with me, would be nothing but the best.Although, it’s kind of creepy that I would be able to find out what’s going on with me, and for something to be really creepy, physically, how much more, when I find out what made it possible to seem really weird. After washing up, I put on a casual dress, and stepped out of my room. Just as I stepped out, I noticed Mara, walking towards me. A smile came up on my face, especially because it was evident that she cared, a lot about me.“I see you’re ready.” She said, with a vibrant smile.“Yes! I’m ready.” Truly, I was ready, but I couldn’t deny the

SERENA’S POV“Uhm… So, you’ll need to come for another session with me.” The doctor said as we came out of the room, and Mara rose to her feet, on sighting us. “What was the result, doctor? Did it not go well?”“Well, according to her, it only got her confused. I guess she saw something else, instead. Judging from her brain waves, the frequency shows she wasn’t really in a good state.” The doctor responded. Then Mara placed her arm, around my shoulder.“What’s going on? What did you see?” She asked me, looking really concerned.“I…I don’t know. I was meant to see memories which I don’t remember, but instead, all I saw, was nothing but confusion. You know what? I just… I just want to leave this place.” I said, wanting to go far away from everything here.“Alright, alright.” She responded, and then we walked out of the hospital, then waited for a cab to pass by.Although, I had wondered once, about why she didn’t own a car, considering the status of her family, but that would be a questi

  • The Nameless Luna   I love Mara

SERENA’S POVThe next day, I woke up in my room, but I was in chains. I gasped in shock, and looked at both my hands, wondering how these chains came to be, on my hand. They were silver chains, and weakened me on the inside.“Why…Why am I bound in chains?” I muttered out, in fear.I looked at where the chains were connected to. It was connected to the wall. It seemed they had pinned them, recently, because I could see a new crack in the wall. Could this be another nightmare which looks so real?“Help! Help me!” I yelled out, out of fear.I dragged the chain as hard as I could, but still, it was difficult for me to break free. I also looked around for any pin, to try to pin the lock, but then, I don’t even know how to pin a lock. I didn’t learn it from my friends, even when they had done it in my presence, so many times.“Oh, shit!” I cursed out as I also looked towards my bedside table, for my phone, but there was no way I could use my hands to get it.I just felt so empty, and weak. ALPHA LUCAS’ POV“Shit!” I cursed out loud and hit my fist on the wall, in anger.“You don’t have to worry. Chase after her while I get a doctor to heal her up.” Elijah urged me, and I nodded.I hurried down the stairs, and dashed out of the building in search of Serena. Definitely, she would have headed out to the forest, so that was where I was going to search, first. On getting to the tip of the forest, I saw a blood trail which I followed, but it ended not too far from where I started.“Shit! Where the hell are you?” I uttered, under my breath.I couldn’t get a hint of where she was, and that was almost driving me crazy. I looked left and right, but there was no trail I could see, from where I was. Then an idea came to my mind. I bent down to touch the blood, and smelled it. It wasn’t really her blood, but at the same time, it was her blood. The evil wolf spirit must have been badly hurt by the exorcist. What made me curious was how it was able to get away, despite that the silver c

SERENA’S POV My eyelids fluttered open, and for a while, things seemed a bit fuzzy, and I had to close my eyes back, to get a clean sight. The trick worked! I looked around, and figured out I was back in my room, and everything seemed clean and neat, unlike the last time I set my eyes on the room. The last thing I remembered was me feeling nauseous to an extent that I passed out, and I guess the evil wolf spirit must have taken over, since then. Is it still in me? Was the exorcist able to take it out, or not? Why can’t I remember anything, like being free from the evil wolf spirit? “Hey, big girl. Missed me?”I suddenly heard Lorna speak, and it got me so excited that I could have almost sat up abruptly, and screamed, out of excitement. “Lorna, is that you?” I asked, trying to confirm.“Obviously. It is me.” Lorna responded, coolly.“Wow. Where have you been? Why have you been silent, all along?” I questioned her, wondering why she had even chosen this time to speak. “That’s because

It’s best I find a shelter, than run under the rain.” I explained to him, looking a bit concerned about how bad the rain was going to be as I didn’t want to experience the aftermath of going under the rain.Suddenly, the rain began to fall in droplets, and I looked around in fear.“Alright, we can go under that tree.” Elijah suggested, and we both hurried down to the tree. The tree was big enough, and even its branche

SERENA’S POVThe next day, I woke up, feeling a positive mood. I stared at my wrist band, and smiled. Joy beamed in my heart like an inflated balloon on a good day.Who would have known that a gift like this would bring me so much joy, and liveliness in the atmosphere? Merely looking at it made me yearn to see him, but how was I going to see him? What excuse, would be perfect?“Hmm.” I sighed as I placed my index finger on my chin, going through a chain of suggestions.“Yes! Perfect!” I voiced out as I finally thought of the one perfect excuse to use.I pulled my bed cover from my body, and got down from my bed immediately, then hurried into the bathroom to wash my face up, and brush my teeth. After doing that, I stood before the mirror to brush my hair up, and then packed it into a bun. A smile came up on my face as I admired my beauty. Then I headed for the door, and stepped out of the room, the moment I opened the door. Butterflies fluttered in my belly as I got closer to his room.

Elijah's POVMy body was numb, my chest burning with every shallow breath. I thought this was it. Maybe I deserved it. I stirred slowly from my slumber, feeling anything but refreshed. Exhaustion pressed down on me like an unrelenting fog, thick and suffocating. A strange tiredness pulled at me, beckoning me back to the comforting depths of sleep. With a heavy sigh, I turned over, letting the darkness claim me again. It was easier to face the dreamscape than the misery I called life.Distant murmurs began to slip into my consciousness, faint and far away, like whispers traveling through walls."Who is he?" someone whispered, their voice low but filled with curiosity. "Alpha Elijah?""Why did the Alpha Lucas bring him back? Didn't he betray us?"I blinked, my eyelids heavy and my vision blurred as I tried to focus. Shadows moved around me, but nothing came into clarity. My body refused to cooperate, and the pull of sleep was too strong. I let it take me again, the voices fading into t

"We should deploy explosives at crescent grove to avoid Lucas taking her back inside where it's heavily guarded." "That is a brilliant idea." he praised before leaving my side to pass on his order. After ony a few minutes, the explosions rang out, blood stained the ground, and the cries of wolves echoed through the air. Suddenly i realised that one of those fools had actually sent one right at Serena. I quickened my pace as i tried to get to her, but Lucas got to her first and ended up hurt too in the process. My eyes fell on Lucas and Serena, lying motionless on the ground where the explosion had thrown them.I could hear both their breathings and so i felt slightly relieved. Some of Lucas warriors rushed to them. shielding their bodies from incoming attacks. • The Nameless Luna   Friend

LUCAS' POV The battlefield was chaos. The air smelled of blood, sweat, and the metallic tang of fear. Screams, growls, and the clash of weapons drowned out every other sound. The Crescent Grove Pack was holding its ground, but barely.I stood in the center of the fray, my wolf straining to take control as I fought beside my warriors and allies. The humans were scattered around us, their rifles doing less damage than we’d hoped. The Bloodhounds were brutal, tearing through everything in their path with an animalistic hunger that even the strongest of us struggled to match.“Gamma!” I yelled over the noise, spotting Gavin locked in a brutal fight with two Bloodhounds. His claws were coated in blood, his face twisted in a snarl.“I’ve got it!” he roared back, ripping through the neck of one opponent before launching himself at the other.I spun around, looking for the next threat, only to see one of our humans fall, his body limp and lifeless.“Pull back!” I shouted to the human soldier

I bolted upright almost immediately."What the hell?" I cursed. Another boom followed, this time closer. From the noises outside I could tell it was time for the main deal, it wasn't just Elijah's pack out there but other packs too. That's why the spy had suddenly gone out last night, he knew they'd attack today.A frown formed on my face as I rushed to put on my shirt. I paused midway with the top still over my head and looked at Serena whose eyes were on fixed on me with worry and guilt. "Just a sec," I said as I turned back to the door, opening it slightly I said, "Go to Beta Liam and ask that he get the army ready. I will be with you all soon." The wolf warrior after hearing my orders, nodded and walked away as fast as possible."Attack?" Serena mumbled, looking slightly conscious. "Blood Hound and Silver moo

LUCAS' POV I was on the floor, slumped against the wall, her head resting on her knees. Tear stains marked the corners of her eyes, her breathing uneven, like she’d cried herself to exhaustion. My chest ached at the sight.I crouched down beside her, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Serena, wake up,” I said softly, but she didn’t stir, even a little bit.Her face looked pale, her eyes puffy. Whatever she’d been going through, it had pushed her past her limits and her body mustv'e responded to it.“Damn it, Serena,” I muttered under my breath as I slid an arm under her legs and another around her back, lifting her easily. She felt so light, too light. She didn’t wake as I carried her to the bed. Her head lolled against my chest, her breathing was faint but it didn't sound like she was having difficulties breathing.I laid her down gently, pulling the blankets over her. The tear stains on her cheeks hadn’t dried yet, and it made me pause. I wanted to fix whatever had caused th

SERENA’S POVThe rest of the day felt empty, tense and uncomfortable but mostly empty. I tried to keep busy, but my thoughts kept circling back to Lucas and the argument we had. It wasn’t that I was angry with him—I wasn’t. I was just... worried. Worried about him, about the pack, about everything.Everyone around the pack house felt the same. The tension was thick, like a storm brewing that no one could stop. I hated it. I hated the way it made my chest feel tight, the way it made everyone so distant from each other. The pack house has literally nver been this quiet.By the time the sun started dipping below the horizon, I was sitting on my bed, staring at the wall, doing absolutely nothing. My arms rested on my knees, and my fingers twisted the edge of the blanket over and over.A knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts and i raised my head to gaze at the door.“Serena? It’s me,” my mother’s voice came softly from the other side.I sighed. “Come in.”The door creaked open, and

SERENA’S POVBreakfast felt tense, the kind of tense that made the air heavy and hard to breathe. Lucas sat across from me, his shoulders stiff, his eyes dark as he cut into his toast. The clink of the knife against the plate grated on my nerves. I wasn’t even sure why I was so jittery this morning. Maybe it was the silence. Or maybe it was everything else. It wasn't just me, but literally every one in the pack house were on edge. All stares on me.I shifted in my seat, poking at the eggs on my plate. My stomach churned too much to eat. My mind replayed the sudden attack on the pack, the blood on Lucas and the screams I could hear even though I was in the underground escape. I hated this. All of it. The war. The endless fighting. So many people died yesterday. All because of me.Warriors lost their lives. A mother lost her child, a child lost it's father, a man and female lost their brother and a wife lost her mate. It was all too unfair to everyone. War doesn't always have to be the

Serena, that’s not something you forget! That’s life-changing!”I was about to respond when the door to the escape creaked open, and the Beta stepped inside. His face was serious, but there was something lighter in his eyes.“The war is over,” he said simply. For a moment, I just stared at him, my heart racing. “It’s over?”“Yes,” he said with a nod. “You’re safe to come out now.”I didn’t wait for him to say anything else.
