Davien's P. O. V
I could smell her arousal and it made my lips flatten into a thin-lipped smile, just like all the other women who've come across me, she fell for my charms. So predictable. She, in particular, was the daughter of a large corporate group who had ulterior motives to run my family's business onto the ground. Not that they actually could pull it off.Their group consisted of members of smaller packs from the Western region, with no firm backbone of their own. It was those sorts of alliances where the weak would look after one another and try to claw their way to the top.A bunch of spineless cockroaches.I casually swirled my glass around, allowing the alcohol to mix with the ice cube inside, whilst I kept my gaze fixed on the blonde-haired woman. There was hardly any noise from the rowdy club downstairs, and there were only five of us present in the VVIP room. She finally pretended to acknowledge my presence in the room and shot a flirtatious wink at me. I smirked in response to her greeting, letting her know that her skimpy red dress and heavy makeup weren't a total waste.Taking my smirk as the go-ahead, she bid the man she had accompanied a distasteful farewell and sauntered over to where I sat, legs apart. I slapped my right thigh, gesturing for the little lady to take a seat, an offer she did well to return. Her date seemed somewhat pissed, he attempted to come at me, but took a steady step back, once he took a closer look at me. Defeated, he escorted himself out of the room, without paying for their drinks."Isn't that your date leaving? Won't you go after him?" I asked with fake concern, seeking the final confirmation that she was the one who went after me, and not the other way around. She brought her cherry lipstick lips to my neck and attempted to bite me, my body acted on impulse and gripped her wrists, a forced smile on my lips."I don't like having to fight for someone, which is why I need you to say it yourself," I said in an attempt to make her forget all about getting too fast with me.She curled her lips into a seductive smile and stared at my face, releasing her arousal without any reservation. "I want it. I want you." She moaned and then chewed on her lower lip, all while wriggling her wrists out of my grip.Somewhat content with her response, I let go of her wrists and flung my head back, giving her the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ravish me."I'm Sydney." She whispered into my ear, rather too late in her introduction. Her hands were set to work hungrily unfastening each of my buttons, the fire in her eyes was enough proof she wanted me tonight. Finally convinced that she was ready, I gripped the back of her neck and crashed her lips into mine, engaging them in a hungry kiss...*Next Morning*Sydney's place was far more luxurious than I expected, for someone whose class was still far beneath mine. Her performance in bed was also beyond my expectations, I could hardly keep my hands off her body the entire night."You're up early." I heard her moan from behind me, I looked over my shoulder to see her dressed in a shirt that barely covered her ass.Must have belonged to an old boyfriend."Old habits die hard," I told her while putting on my shoes, my job was finished here, which also meant my relationship with Sydney was over as well."Can I call you?" She asked with expectant eyes, her index finger twisting her curly locks of blonde hair."I'll call you."She pouted and grabbed my right arm, trying to put up some sort of resistance. Her lips flattened into a devious smile as she pressed her breasts against my body."You were so good, I can't stop thinking of when next we'll hook up," Sydney said, being persistent.Just what I wanted."I don't know anymore, I wasn't going to tell you anything, but I think we're not compatible," I said, dangling the bait in front of her.She furrowed her brows and sent me a questioning stare, "why? Did I do something wrong?" She retorted in a whiny tone that made my ears bleed. I straightened my shoulders and peeled her hands off my arm, maintaining a civil aura."I should be asking you that question, I thought we had something special last night, but I never thought that you were targeting me because of my family's business." I accused in a dramatic tone, sparking her interest."Family business? I don't know anything about what you're saying, I swear." Sydney argued, standing her ground."I thought so too, but that was until I saw those family photos on your nightstand. You're the daughter of the infamous Halfmoon group, the only daughter of Alpha Renold. Your family is trying to run my family's business into the ground, and here I was, under the covers with the enemy!"I usually abstained from being so dramatic, but when it came to bimbos like Sydney, I had to sound convincing enough to get her to act on her own accord. After making a background check on her, I discovered that she had been in seven serious relationships within eight months. And by serious, I mean to say, that this woman was ready to empty her bank account to keep a man to herself. The only catch was, she had high standards that influenced her choice of men."Don't talk like that, I swear that I had no idea about it, and besides business is business, pleasure is distinct." She said, applying logic to the situation.I scoffed at her, "if that's how you feel, then forget about last night and forget about me. I can't bring myself to get involved with the enemy's daughter." And with that said, I dashed out of her place, grinning from ear to ear, certain that my agenda was achieved.*Office*My nose picked up the scent of Gwendolyn, my secretary as she walked into my office, holding a red file in her hands.Gwen was a rogue, who had managed to escape a raid on her pack, some eight years ago. At first, I was fascinated by the thought of bagging a rogue, but after I got to know how efficient she was. I ended up hiring her as my secretary instead."Mr. Moore, we've received a business proposal from the Halfmoon group, they're looking to do business with you," Gwendolyn informed me, telling me what I already knew.Sydney had sent me an annoyingly sentimental text, assuring me that there was nothing to keep us apart from each other."Tell them I'll review their proposition and get back to them," I instructed, mindlessly staring into my phone, scrolling through the articles about Saint incorporations. She nodded then cleared her throat to speak, drawing my attention to the ash skirt she had on that hugged her curves perfectly."Your father has requested to see you tonight at the pack house," Gwendolyn stated in a professional tone, as her fingers pushed a strand of her straight black hair behind her ear.I frowned at the summon, certain that father had the same old sermon to preach, the one that included me settling down with my mate.A word I had come to hate."Tell him I'm busy, it's your job as my secretary to make up lies to protect my image." I teased, earning a small smile from Gwendolyn. However, that smile quickly melted into a frown, she narrowed her brown eyes at me and sent me a harsh glare."I'm afraid that your father placed me on the spot and asked for your schedule himself. He's assembled the high-ranking members of the pack, and as Alpha, you have to be there." Her insistent tone reminded me of my late mother.I let out a long sigh and pinch my forehead in defeat, "I can never win against you." I acknowledged, earning a prideful smirk from my nosey assistant."Except when we're in bed." I swiftly inserted with a sly look on my face, Gwendolyn's cheeks flushed bright pink at the mention of sex.She dry coughed us back to focus and straightened her back, "I think your father has something very important to announce, he even asked me to get the pack lawyer." She explained, earning half of my interest."That does sound concerning, he still has a few years left in him so I'm certain it isn't about his will," I remarked, not caring how shameless it made me sound."Which leaves only one possibility. It must be about the company! Father is most definitely stepping down!"Davien's P. O. VI pulled over at the pack house at exactly nine pm, dressed in a casual dark blue shirt and a pair of jeans to match. Outside, my Beta, Oliver, who was like the older brother I never had stood beside his motorcycle, waiting for me to arrive. 'Hurry your ass over! Most of the elders are already inside' he snapped at me through the mind link, in response, I raised my middle finger to him and hurried my steps."If you keep on pissing the elders off, they will certainly get back at you." Oliver chided as we walked inside, reminding me that I was on bad terms with the elders of the pack. For being too 'promiscuous'On entry, my eyes landed on my father, the former leader of the Night Howlers pack and current chairman of the board. Though his strands of grey hair had become more visible, his biceps never betrayed him."You're late." He scolded me the moment he laid eyes on me, forgetting that I had actual work to do at the company before driving to the outskirts of the c
Scattered across my desk were all the information my sources could gather about the Saint family, and the Silverfang pack. Which in truth, wasn't as much as I'd hoped to see. "Silvia Saint...age 25... blood type A... 5ft 6...." I leisurely read, both I and my wolf were unimpressed by her. Of course, she wasn't ugly, she had clear blue eyes and raven-black hair. Her solid features made Silvia at first glance appear to look like a model. She joined the family business at age 22 and made a name for herself amongst the other businesses in under a span of three years. A woman like her should be every Alpha's dream woman...strong, smart and beautiful. The perfect Luna. The only problem in this situation was that I wasn't interested in tying the knot or settling down any time soon. "Can't you set a meeting with her?" I asked Gwendolyn once more, staring at my computer, desperately waiting for her to respond to my email.Aside from her parents, she does have a younger brother, but he's o
I stared critically at the young boy who shared the exact reaction on my face, stun. How unlikely was it, that I'd run into another one of my mates at my engagement party?!There wasn't enough time for me to recover from the shock of finding my mate, because Silvia suddenly ran towards us and wrapped her arms around him!"Kian! You made it!" She squealed in glee, letting everyone inside the hall know that this kid was both her brother and my mate. How fucked up could life get?"Mate?" He echoed, finally recovering from the shock of finding his first ever mate. Silvia disengaged the hug and stared at both of us, with pure wide eyed shock, still processing what was occuring. "You...you two are mates?" She fumbled, pointing at her brother then at me. I was just about to open my mouth and deny everything, when my father and Silvia's parents rushed into the scene, at the sound of the M word."Is...is it true Kian? Is your sister's fiancee really your mate?" Mrs Saint interrogated, grabb
Davien's P. O. VHe used his palm to push my chest back, then walked away from me towards the direction of the main hall, where his family were. Not wanting to return to the drama filled room, I used the mind link to communicate with Oliver, and told him I would be leaving. He tried to talk me out of it and insist I come back to apologize to all the important Alphas who had taken time to come to the engagement. I shrugged off the idea and instead drove off in my car, leaving him to clean up after my mess.Oliver was going to kill me. ************Roughly four days had passed since the scandal at the hotel, and with each passing second, my life became all the more miserable."Sir, it's your father on the line again, he wants you to contact the Saints and settle the issue." Gwendolyn said, handing my second phone to me.I reluctantly took it off her hands and brought it to my right ear, prepared to get scolded by father for messing things up."Yes?" I groaned into the phone exhausted
Davien's P. O. VIt was only last year that Silvia became the Alpha of the Silverfang pack, with Tyson, a fearsome street boxer as her Beta. With him as her second in command, the bad blood between the Night Howlers and the Silverfang grew even worse. If anyone would be against my wedding to Silvia, then it had to be that jackass.I pulled over at the parking lot, where about three black Vans where parked roughly, all with plate numbers that had the initials SF inscribed on it. I gritted my teeth in anger and rushed into the building, prepared to shift into my wolf.At the entrance to the building, three warrior wolves in suits blocked the path, staring down anyone who tried to walk out.Even the humans who worked here weren't excluded from this treatment, even though they were clueless."Move." I commanded them with no patience in my voice. The blonde haired one sneered at me, the other two bore their fangs out, in a bid to intimidate me. Luckily, we weren't facing the employees, so
Davien's P. O. VI didn't get much information out of Tyson but I did certainly get a mental picture of who I was dealing with, and in truth, it made me more intrigued than frightened. I wanted to meet him again. Same went for Ralph."Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Oliver asked as he bolted into the room with his vision locked on Gwendolyn. He rested both hands on her shoulders then proceeded to search her for wounds."Gwendolyn is fine Oliver, I'm the one who needs immediate attention." I declared while waltzing over to my desk, pulling out a printed file from a drawer. I tossed it to Oliver, who raised a confused brow as his blue eyes lazily read through it's contents. Gwendolyn who I suspected wanted a distraction from finding her mate started cleaning around the office. "What the hell is this?" Oliver demanded brandishing the file from side to side, "is this kid really 19 years old?" He went on to ask in an incredulous tone. "It's all true, which is why I need to meet with hi
Davien's P. O. VListening to his words, I felt a cold shudder run down my spine, what's worse, as I gazed into his eyes I could not find a trace of uncertainty."Are you insane?! Do you even understand what it is you just said?!" I asked aloud, resisting the urge to grab him by the collar and land a punch or two. He was however unfazed by me and continued speaking unequivocally. "It's only natural that I take over the company, I already allowed her to become Alpha of the pack." He said and pushed a glass of water to his lips.I chuckled lightly, "you talk so big that I forgot you're just nineteen years old." I retorted relaxing into my seat, laughing at myself for ever taking him seriously.Kian however didn't seem to like my words, "what was that?" The sides of his mouth twitched with fury at the comment on his age.Seeing as I could use this to get under his skin I pulled my lips back in satisfaction, "you're just a brat bored out of his mind. Davien's P. O. VThe kid came off as pretty serious when he so flamboyantly made that declaration, for someone so young, he had seasoned eyes that boasted of experience. The question now was, experience in what?"You're making some pretty brazen demands out of me. What makes you think I'd want to run Silvia out of business?" I retorted, giving him a square look. He continued strolling ahead at a fast pace, I inherently pursued, till we were walking on the same footing. Judging by his fast strides, he seemed to be in a hurry. "Hey, is there somewhere you need to go to real quick? You're practically running away from the conversation." I flatly told him once we reached the parking lot. "I have another appointment at nine o'clock, so I can't be late." He responded, stealing a glance into his phone to check the time. I mirrored him to see the time was barely past eight thirty. "You know, since you're in such a hurry to get to wherever it is you're going. I could just drive you there."
Davien's P. O. VI never knew I had such wonderful flooring, until I paced about them in a left and right motion, waiting outside the room where Kian had his meeting. "This kid, did he pass out or something?" I voiced out my thoughts, running my fingers through my hair. It had been almost an hour and I hadn't heard a single sound from inside. I would have gone inside to check on him, however the stinger he gave me at the door was proof enough that he didn't want me intruding on his conversation. This situation was absurd. With not too many options left, I sauntered over to refrigerator and pulled out a can of beer, then retreated to my study to do some digging of my own. I pulled myself a chair and turned on my laptop, my left hand went underneath the drawer and reached for my reading glasses. After slipping them on, I began to read through the names sent to us by the Halfmoon pack."Are all these names really fake?" I had a copy sent to me some years back for future reference. I
