Lady Vienna racked her brains for any special ability of Duke Raziel from the book she burned.
He had immense mana, that is what she’s sure. But did he have any teleporting abilities? Was he that strong that he could do that?
She just looked at Duke Raziel in bewilderment. “How did you get in-“
Duke Raziel looked at her smugly. “That’s not important. You massaged my hand and made me fall asleep, you’re quite clever, Vienna. You’re always giving me reasons why I chose the right woman.”
He sounded calm and collected, but his voice was thundering. “But I didn’t expect that you’ll escape like that. This is the first time you disobeyed me.”
She gulped. She made sure to create a harmonious relationship with him, but the way his aura beams bloody blue right now and he’s really angry. With this,
He looks intimidating and his usual villain mode but Lady Vienna wasn’t affected by this. Instead, she looks at him proudly. Yeah! That’s my husband! She wanted to yell but stopped herself. She has to be elegant and poised when dealing with enemies, of course. Countess Tumaini was trembling in fear and sprinted away from them together with her maid. “Thank you for that. I can handle her alone, but she got so scared of you.” Lady Vienna chuckled. Duke Raziel looked at her sternly, obviously not happy with this. “I know you’re strong and don’t want any help, but you need to be careful, my duchess.” “Well, that’s to be expected. Being the Duchess of Xynnar, we will be facing more enemies in the future. And I need you to be strong to handle all of that.
She was guided into the duke’s study and Huxley presented a table and a chair, just across Raziel’s. “What is this? Why am I here?” Huxley made her sit. “Starting today, this is your study. The duke told me that this will be your punishment. To do your duchess duties.” She looked around. Sure, this might be a good idea that she could annoy her husband from time to time but it might feel suffocating. Knowing him, he’ll probably just stare at her all day. “But why in this place?” “Why, don’t you like it, my lady? Shall I ask the duke to change it?” She shook her head. “No, it’s fine….” Huxley disappeared for a minute and when he returned, he brought with his piles of paper. “His grace had been taking care o
Duke Raziel made it a rule for him and Lady Vienna to have breakfast together. And she couldn’t complain about it. It felt uncomfortable sensing his stared while she eats. Huxley appeared later and bowed before announcing, “I apologize for intervening in your breakfast, your grace. But Count Toivo is waiting outside, demanding to see the duke.” He said and cleared his throat. “He’s looking rather…displeased if I say so myself.” Duke Raziel stopped himself from eating and nodded, “What is he doing so early in the morning?” “He wants to complain about something,” Huxley replied. Duke Raziel nodded and glanced at Lady Vienna, “He can wait, but my food won’t.” “Yes, your grace.” And with that, he left.
At Lady Vienna and Duke Raziel’s usual breakfast, Huxley appeared, “Your Grace, the crown prince, and his fiance, Princess Avelina, is outside. Would you like to meet them?” “What are they doing here?” Asked Duke Raziel, not liking the news.. “They didn’t give me further notice.” His mood turned back to how angry he was earlier. He clenched his jaw before saying, “Let them in.” Minutes later, the four of them were found sitting face to face in the drawing-room. Lady Vienna was just seated beside her husband, Duke Raziel while across from them, Princess Avelina, who was wearing her lovely yellow dress as her long white hair was tied in a braid and her blue eyes shone brightly against her pale white skin. The Crown Prince, Matthias was beside her, his charismatic blonde hair and golden eyes were there as usual to charm them, but not for Lady Vienna. He smiled at the
Lady Vienna has been in the duke’s residence for a month now and so far, she has experienced four general cleanings in her room now. It was what Huxley just told her. One thing is for sure. Duke Raziel has been a very clean freak. After each general cleaning, he puts his gloves on and checks to see if it was really clean. And there’s a problem. Lady Vienna has been getting bored, and that is not a good sign for a lady like her. Having to do her duchess duties every day with no drama going on. She couldn’t tease Roxy and Huxley since the two had been going on frequent dates and Duke Raziel had been on meetings after meetings. Having to sit all day is just not her. She has to do something, anything interesting, or else she’ll lose her mind.
Lady Vienna scrunched her nose, “Who?” “I’ve lost my appetite. Goodnight.” That was all he replied before standing up and leaving the dining room. Lady Vienna was left in silence and Huxley stepped in. “You crossed the line for today, my lady,” he commented. Lady Vienna chewed on her lips at that. “Was that too horrible to talk about?”
She gasped for air, inhaling and removing the stranger’s hand. She tried to make out his face and remember him but she couldn't. He was wearing a black hood cloak. She suddenly remembered the mysterious man who gave her the book. She could remember him as a handsome man with silver hair and black eyes but this man now is hardly recognizable. But she’s sure it’s him. She cleared her throat, “Are you the man who gave me-” Suddenly, she felt an immense headache in her mind, not able to complete her question.
So this is a threat. They didn’t have any intention of killing her. But who could these men work for? She thought of many possibilities but there was nothing she could think of. It sure is not Countess Toivo’s men…could it be Titus? But that man had been missing for a month now and he never did this to me. She thought to herself. “No.” Lady Vienna was about to end it with a final blow when her grip
