At the same time, Gwyneth received a call from the hospital just as she got into her car.

"Elizabeth Lisle?"

Gwyneth could not help but smirk when she heard that name from the other end of the phone. 'If I remember correctly, Elizabeth is Liam's love interest. He had frequently visited her in the hospital during our few years of marriage. And now, she's my patient. What a small world.'

Gwyneth felt a chill when she recalled Liam telling her he had not signed the divorce papers yet. 'You want me to save your lover? Well, sign the papers,' She tapped her chin and thought, a cunning look flashing across her eyes.

Wesley was driving on the road when he saw Gwyneth smiling in the rearview mirror. He could not help but shudder. 'From the look on Boss's face, I think someone is about to face some trouble...'

At the hospital, Liam walked quickly to Elizabeth's ward. The cold expression he had on his face earlier slowly turned warmer.

Elizabeth was lying on the hospital bed. "Liam, you're here," she said. Her heart skipped a beat when the man showed up. Biting her lips as if she had an idea, Elizabeth lifted her arm in one smooth motion. The loose sleeves of the hospital gown slipped down immediately, revealing an ugly burn scar on her left arm.

"Don't move." When Liam saw that, he immediately went over and tucked Elizabeth in. Seeing her scar, he felt even more guilty. 'She wouldn't have that hideous burn mark if she hadn't tried to save me back then,' he thought.

"Didn't the doctors tell you to stay still? Your body is still in a weak state..."

Elizabeth hid her smile when she noticed Liam's guilt and concern for her. "I would if it was someone else who came to visit. But it's you, so..." She was planning to take the opportunity to increase her bond with Liam. However, the door opened when she was halfway through her sentence.

"Mr. Luther," the hospital director called out as he entered the room. Hearing that, Liam repositioned Elizabeth on the bed, unaware of her somewhat hateful gaze.

"We've invited the world-renowned Dr. Lent to treat Ms. Lisle's recurring illness. Our medical team can't find out why it keeps coming back, but Dr. Lent may know something. She has cured countless diseases!"

"Getting in touch with her was difficult since she moves around a lot. But this time, we finally managed to track her whereabouts and get her on board!"

The director was thrilled at the thought of Gwen agreeing to work in their hospital. 'Dr. Lent's arrival would definitely take this hospital's name to the next level,' he thought.

Liam's gaze deepened as he was curious about the person the director was talking about. However, Elizabeth felt a little guilty because she was not sick.

"Getting Dr. Lent to take on my case must've been troublesome. I'm fine, Liam..." Tears pooled in Elizabeth's eyes; it seemed like she did not want to be a nuisance to the man.

"Don't worry, Ms. Lisle. Dr. Lent was very interested in your case when she heard about it and wanted to see you herself!"

Elizabeth wanted to say something but was at a loss following the director's response.

Suddenly, a crisp sound of footsteps sounded from outside.

BANG— The door to Elizabeth's ward was pushed open.

A woman in black heels and a white lab coat appeared at the room's entrance. Liam glanced toward the door and saw the figure standing behind the hospital director. Elizabeth looked up and was about to speak when her eyes widened instantly; her words got stuck in her throat.

"Gwyneth?!" Liam narrowed his eyes. "Gwyneth, what are you doing here?"

Gwyneth was not surprised to see the two people in the room. She was about to answer Liam's question when someone interrupted her, "I'm sorry, Gwyneth. I didn't mean to have Liam here with me. I'm just scared. Being alone in a hospital is scary. Boohoo..." said Elizabeth, pretending to be innocent.

Gwyneth raised an eyebrow and shot a look at the director.

"Ms. Lisle, this is Dr. Lent. She's going to treat you. You don't have to be afraid to come to the hospital alone anymore."

It was unclear whether the director's last sentence was intentional, but it made Elizabeth feel like crying.

"You're Dr. Lent? I never knew you were a doctor," Liam said with an ugly expression, his gaze filled with doubt. 'Earlier, this woman had ended the banquet wearing a dress. Now, she's in a lab coat with a cold face and her hands in her pocket, saying she's Dr. Lent?!'

"You're overstepping a little, don't you think, Mr. Luther?" Gwyneth said without giving him face.

Liam was slightly surprised. 'How did I not know she was Dr. Lent? Did she hide it from me on purpose?' He thought as an inexplicably uncomfortable feeling arose in his heart. 'We've been married for so long, yet she has kept so many things from me.' From the look on Gwyneth's face, Liam could see that she was acting like she did not know him.

Gwyneth stepped forward and bumped Liam on the shoulder. She then walked to the hospital bed and glanced at Elizabeth. "You're ruining your makeup, Ms. Lisle," she said.

Streaks of mascara, which looked like spider legs, were running down Elizabeth's face. "How dare—" Elizabeth was furious but had to suppress her anger.

"Sir, can you please step out of the room so we can get on with the surgery?" Gwyneth said in a cold tone. "Of course, you can stay if you don't mind the outcome."

However, after five hours of intense surgery, she did not have the strength to deal with the man.Annoyed, she pulled up the hem of her clothes to reveal a burn mark on the side of her waist. "Please refrain from questioning my medical knowledge, Mr. Luther. I know what a burn and a scald look like. I can even differentiate them with my eyes closed."Gwyneth ignored the shock on Liam's face and continued, "Is this good enough for you? Do you see the obvious difference now? This is a burn from a fire; Elizabeth's mark is a scald due to boiling water." She pointed to the scar on her waist when she said that.Something flashed across Liam's mind, and he asked, "When did you get that?""I got it when I was younger. Why? Are you interested in knowing my past, Mr. Luther?"Gwyneth found it ridiculous that even though they were husband and wife, this was the first time she showed

However, she knew that those emotions would subside over time.Gwyneth was in the middle of gathering her items when a familiar voice sounded behind her. "Where do you think you're going?"Annoyed, Gwyneth rolled her eyes and turned to see Liam leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed. "My, my. What do we have here? Mr. Luther, who practi

A sudden voice sounded from behind.Gwyneth was so startled that she nearly knocked over the frying pan. "Hey! Can you stop coming behind me and scaring me like that?!" Tell me what's worse, Mrs. Luther. Scaring someone from behind or talking shit about them behind their back?"Liam examined the woman in front of him. She was in a loose loungewear with her hair tied up and had no makeup on, which gave her a clean look. He had

She loathed staying with Liam for three more months and had to rearrange her plans if she was doing it."What do you need, Boss?" Wesley asked from the other side of the phone."Put the international piano competition on the agenda.""The one where they invited you to become one of the judges?
