Gwyneth ran back to the guest room and sat on the newly made bed, panting heavily. After a while, she rushed into the bathroom as if she had thought of something. She took off her clothes and turned the shower on. The thought of being held by Liam all night made her sick, especially after he grabbed her chin.

Gwyneth exited the bathroom after more than ten minutes, her chin red from an intense scrub. It was enough to show how much she hated Liam's touch. Fortunately, the shower made her feel better.

While unpacking her suitcase, she grabbed her phone and called Wesley. She loathed staying with Liam for three more months and had to rearrange her plans if she was doing it.

"What do you need, Boss?" Wesley asked from the other side of the phone.

"Put the international piano competition on the agenda."

"The one where they invited you to become one of the judges? Didn't you decide that you weren't going, Boss?"

"Make an itinerary and book the flights," Gwyneth said without answering Wesley's question. She could hear that he was taken aback. She then hung up the phone after he gave her a response.

Indeed, Gwyneth wanted to avoid attending the event when she initially received the invitation. However, her plans changed when the list of contestants was posted on the competition website.

[Judy Glen]

The corner of Gwyneth's lips could not help but turn upward when she saw that name on the list. 'How could I let go of such a good opportunity?' She thought.

At the same time, Liam's assistant had already sent the details about his flight with an attached message: [Sir, you are required to attend the international piano competition as a sponsor.]

Two days later, Gwyneth boarded the plane and saw a familiar face when she walked to first class. "Mr. Luther, always turning up like a bad penny, I see," said Gwyneth as she sat in her seat, somewhat exasperated.

Liam, too, was surprised to see Gwyneth. 'This is a direct flight, which means we're heading to the same destination.' After ruling out all possibilities, Liam said with speculation, "I'm guessing you're also going to the competition?"

Gwyneth did not know where Liam was going for his business trip, but her heart went cold when she heard him say that. Not only were they on the same flight, but they were attending the same event.

"Since when did you know how to play the piano? How come I never heard you mention it before?"

Gwyneth had planned to get some shut-eye but was not able to do so with the constant inquiries from Liam. 'This trip is going to be physically and mentally exhausting. I thought I could be free of this man for two days when he told me he had a business trip, but I guess not... I don't think I can get some peace and quiet if I don't answer his questions.'

"What's there to talk about?" Gwyneth said as she looked away from Liam's face and fiddled with her nails. "There's a lot you don't know, Mr. Luther. But I can't possibly take up your precious time talking about myself."

"You can tell me. I don't mind."

Gwyneth thought Liam would be too prideful to keep pushing, but it was clear that she did not know the man well either.

Slowly turning her head, Gwyneth saw Liam's strong jawline and the upturned corner of his mouth. Other than that, she noticed a wet stain on his shirt. The thought of her sleeping while leaning against Liam made her want to jump off the plane."What? Did you not sleep well? Well, I think..." When Gwyneth heard the flirtatious voice coming from beside her ear, she immediately got up to leave before Liam could finish his sentence. However, her legs were not as quick as his hands.Liam firmly grasped Gwyneth's wrist and said, "Don't you have other strategies apart from running away?""Who cares as long as it's effective?!" She turned to meet his eyes and gritted her teeth. She shook her arm vigorously, trying to get away. However, with one pull from Liam, she fell to the seat due to inertia."You—" she was about to curse him when his handsome face approached her. "We're on a plane, Mrs. Luther. There's nowhere for you to escape."Gwyneth blinked and looked at the man in front of her.

The following day, Judy was preparing herself backstage at the piano competition venue. However, it was less about preparing and more about enjoying the attention of the many men surrounding her. Her background and appearance made it nearly impossible for her not to be noticed. Besides, she reveled in being surrounded by admirers, even though she did not care for any of them. As she finished applying her makeup, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in the corner of her eye. She immediately shook off the men around her and strode forward."Liam, you really came."To Judy's knowledge, Liam rarely attended such events. But, now that he was here, it must be for her sake. She was ecstatic, not only because she held a special place in Liam's heart but also because she was sure to win the competition with him present. This international piano competition was highly regarded in the industry, and winning it would be akin to taking a significant step forward in high society. Eager to take

Judy saw Gwyneth sitting in the middle of the panel, her eyes filled with laughter as the latter looked at her. Liam was seated in the guest area. Compared to Judy's surprise, his shock was beyond words. In their three years of marriage, he could not recall a single time when she had practiced the piano."Please welcome our next contestant, Judy."Upon hearing the host's words, Judy's heart trembled. She gritted her teeth, her eyes blazing with anger as she stared at Gwyneth. 'How dare this woman look down on me?' Despite Liam's presence in the guest area, she steeled herself and walked onto the main stage, determined to win his favor during this performance. Hearing the cheers from the audience, Judy forced a smile that looked more painful than tears.Gwyneth, sitting at the judges' table, could not help but laugh out loud at the scene. As expected, Judy made two mistakes during her performance, and her rhythm was a complete mess. Gwyneth frowned, then spoke softly. "That's enough,

'Gwyneth? Could it be that all of my efforts were misguided?' Liam pondered with mixed emotions as he returned to the venue after hanging up the phone. As the music ended, Gwyneth's fingertips slid off the piano keys. Though she had not wanted to take the stage, every moment spent immersed in the music had been a pleasure. As thunderous applause erupted from the audience, a smile graced the corner of her lips. She rose and bowed gracefully at a ninety-degree angle to the audience. As she straightened, her eyes met Liam's in the guest seats. Her smile shifted ever so slightly, and her brow raised with a hint of provocation."Now the stage can be returned to the contestants." Seeing the host nodding hastily, Gwyneth chuckled and stepped down, ignoring Judy entirely. Two hours later, the competition results were announced, and Judy lost. The outcome was not too difficult to explain; it was merely a matter of skill. But what was more serious was Judy's behavior of publicly challenging a

Unexpectedly, Gwyneth bumped into Judy just around the corner. 'What a small world,' she thought.Judy probably had not expected to run into Gwyneth either, and the anger from the competition immediately resurfaced. "Gwyneth! What is the meaning of this? Did you know I was competing and deliberately set me up in front of all those people?" Her emotions surged, and she took a step forward. "You divorced Liam, and now you're jealous? Are you trying to humiliate me in front of him?"These accusatory questions left Gwyneth at a loss for words. She did not know how to respond when Judy added drama to the situation and even displayed hints of paranoia. Gwyneth sighed helplessly, thinking to herself, 'If I can't confront it head-on, I might as well dodge the bullet.' As she turned to leave, Judy grabbed her arm, her eyes filled with tears, but she was looking past Gwyneth."Liam, come and settle this. Stirring her coffee, Willa chuckled as she muttered, “So, before moving on, let me apologize if I came off as snobbish the first time we met… I just have high standards since I want my work to be loved by many, you know? With that out of the way, let’s talk about the collaboration… I admit I like the plot, but… There are several conditions that you need to think about before we can proceed.” Nodding in response, Gwyneth found herself surprised that her demands weren’t outrageous at all. In fact, Gwyneth would’ve followed those principles even if Willa hadn’t brought them up! Though this was nothing to Gwyneth, it meant the world to Willa.
