Riona swung her feet into the air, and tried to counter with the other but fell when she failed to maintain her stance, that had been going on for two hours straight and she got really good at falling on her ass.

she was out of breath and her hair had escaped from the bun causing it to frame down to her back and some stuck to her face.

"You put too much thought into your attacks which makes you slow and easy to read," Lennox said gesturing to her on the ground. "Don't think, do."

Easy for you to say, just shut up already.

He was always around when she trained, something she had gotten used to in the past two weeks. She learned his name after she challenged him in a race she barely won. He was an alpha, his black wolf towered over hers and she wondered what pack he was from.

He would always point out mistakes she made and she was more annoyed than grateful when he did. Today she didn't stop even when her body was about to give out.

She was going to see Lily today, her best friend who was like a sister to her. She wasn't sure of how she would react when she saw lily again since she got her second chance.

"Take a break," he commanded.

It was easy to ignore him since she wasn't even listening, she pulled back to try again. Throughout her training for the day she had been extra quiet since she had a lot on her mind, how am I going to do this? It is too much too fast, she wasn't sure she could handle seeing her again with the hatred she harbored in her heart.

Since coming back Riona had wondered if the accident that killed her father was an accident at all, she didn't know what to believe and it weighed greatly on her shoulders. Her thoughts captured her as she moved on autopilot falling again.

"Hey, what is up with you?"

Riona's hit back to reality was hard with sparks exploding in her body, Lennox had touched her in her daze. She leaped away from him going into defense, ready to attack him. His simple touch ignited her body, it brought a lot of emotions crashing down on her all at once, like her body coming to life and sharpening her senses. What was that? Did he feel that too?

"I'm sorry, you startled me." she dropped her hand and pulled her face to the side, avoiding his eyes.

He definitely did. He was completely frozen by it, Riona couldn't stay when he realized it too, she picked up her bag, not making that mistake again ready to escape her newfound situation. She should have been more careful around him, this had been bothering her since she met Lennox, she had been concealing her scent from him every time to avoid the truth but how long could she do it for? She had to stop now, she couldn't see him again.

"Where are you going?" his hard voice stopped her in her tracks as she backed away from him.

"It's time I move, remember I am a traveler and it is not safe for me to be in one place for long. " she lied knowing he could tell but it didn't matter.

"Why do you always mask your scent?"

Of course, he noticed like he always does. she clenched her hand, thinking of making a run for it after all she would never see him again.

"I'm a rogue, I need to or I get hunted on."

"I know what you are thinking but tell me what you are afraid of that you want to lie to yourself." She felt him come a little closer, her willpower slipped the tiniest bit but it was more than enough for her to lose control. She managed to mask her scent again in the split second she lost control but it was not enough.

"Mate, " she heard him say under his breath.

Shit!

She darted off for the second time since she met him. There was no way this was happening now, this was exactly what she tried to avert. Her legs moved faster than ever, driven by her desperate desire to escape.

"Do you eat at all? you look so pale Rinrin."

Riona held down a scream from leaving her with her finger digging into her palm while she silently asked the goddess why she had to go through this. She had managed to get away from Lennox again but she returned just to meet Lily in the gardens.

After sneaking into her room and changing. With her mind at its limits, she was tempted to give up but her first encounter with Lily was important.

"I just...just. I have been inside for too long. " she forced a smile as she faked every second of their conversation.

Besides her mind was somewhere else, she struggled with herself on the decision she made. Was it a mistake? What was she so scared of? He just assumes I am afraid of something, I hate him.

"Rinrin are you okay? You are zoning out." She could see the concern Lily held so well in her eyes. Fake!

How could she pretend so easily? Don't I even mean anything to you? Of course not. She had to remind herself that it was all an act that will lead to her doom.

"I missed you." She whispered, her voice almost broken.

"Oh, you did? I saw you got yourself a shiny toy and yet you say you miss me huh."

Riona already knew what Lily was talking about. Marshall was indeed her new toy, one she had all intentions to break and discard.

"He is good-looking, isn't he? Do you want him?" Riona probed while watching her reaction.

Lily's cheeks flamed red, and Riona was barely holding on when she wanted to claw at Lily, the need to hit her threatened to surface. She had to end this quickly.

"I like him," Riona lied through her teeth.

She still had to act like she was playing their game, give them an opening to make a move before trapping them. Riona did not doubt that Marshall would try to get closer to her after Lily told him about this.

"You do?" Lily gasped, her eyes twinkling at the opportunity.

Yes, go for the bait.

"I don't know when it happened but I do. " Her inner devil smiled at this. Now I will mess with you.

Riona kept on with the conversation for a while before making an excuse to end their discussion.

She retired back to bed thinking of Lennox. There was a pang in her chest since she ran away again. It may hurt now but she convinced herself she would get over it, her revenge was more important and there was no way she would go down at their mercy. With all thoughts about her mate buried Riona closed her eyes in hopes to have a good night's sleep.

Freed of her shoes, she took eager steps forward, standing on one foot and then putting the other down to test the waters. She paused when her hand moved, about to start on the button fly of her pants. Her gaze shifted behind her to find him watching her with a gleam of expectation in his eyes. “You will be leaving right now.” “I said I would help you.” “I don't need help, especially from you, I know how to bathe myself.” “But you’re tired and hurt. Why not let me help? Let me take care of you.” She glared daggers at him. "I hurt my leg not my hand, now fuck off." "Why fight this?" “Either you leave or I will.” “Fine.” He shrugged. “I will leave because I can't have you not bathing and stinking up the place. Call me if you need me.” Stink? Riona groaned with a beaming grin resting on her face. It didn't matter since she felt good well until she felt the cold breeze twinkling her body and causing goosebumps to erupt as she shivered. Oh no! Her gaze moved down and for some reason she was completely naked, the smile she had on dropped into a hard frown. Why am I naked? Her mind panicked when she couldn't formulate any other answer except one and how she wished she was wrong or probably having a nightmare. Unfortunately, she knew that her so-called dream was not a dream, she really threw herself at Lennox and then slept with him. Her hands flew to her mouth, covering her gasp. What was I thinking? Right, I wasn't. "You are finally awake." Out of all the times to arrive, he

Riona opened her eyes, her breath short and her body on fire with pure desire. She brought her hand down to roam her body and she shuddered at the sensation. "You are awake!" The sound of Lennox's dark voice fueled her need and an involuntary moan escaped her. She couldn't start to explain what exactly was happening but her mind was foggy and her body craved release. "Help me..." She whimpered in a barely audible voice. Lennox was by her side in a matter of seconds, worry clouding his expression then confusion. Her eyes were watering and she looked to be in pain as she grasped his hand and pulled it to her body. "Touch me... Please." "What?" He breathed out. Her request was impossible to reject but a part of him knew she wasn't in her right mind and she would hate him even more if he actually did. Riona groaned as her body throbbed and she couldn't stop herself anymore. She pushed Lennox back to the ground and straddled his waist. She planned to

  • The Masked Luna   Guardian

There was no guide on how to take care of a girl while stranded on a dangerous island and even if there was Lennox had definitely not read it. He had been walking for hours with Riona in his arms and his heart swelled with pride that she trusted him enough to fall asleep unguarded, snuggling into him although he knew she was passed out because of stress but that didn't stop him from believing what he wanted to believe. Even though his arms were tired and his legs ached making him very aware of his weakness, but in a weird way he couldn't explain he took joy in this little moment that shouldn't mean anything. Riona's leg had swollen a bit but now it was starting to come down. Lennox scouted for a place to lay for the night as the sun was setting but there was no sign of a house or a simple cave, which was to be expected since being on a dangerous island, no one in their right mind would want to be here. Just as the thought left him, there was a voice. "I remember you."

  • The Masked Luna   Death Island

What are my doing? Lennox was yet to comprehend his actions of helping Riona to escape, and leaving the organization and now he was stuck on a dangerous island while being as weak as a mortal. "You pray I don't make it out of here or I will end you the very chance I get." Riona threatened with gritted teeth. He gulped at the seriousness in her voice. I am a victim too. When Nix offered to save her, he couldn't explain the relief that washed over him, extinguishing his anger enough for him not to want to murder someone. Even now he couldn't stop wanting to protect her as she recklessly climbed up a mountain, taking every step with the potential of falling to her death. Did she forget she was no longer supernatural? His hand shot up as a reflex when Riona lost her footing but she still held on. His heart was at stake with the way it sped up, wanting to escape his chest whenever Riona did anything, even look at him. He might just not make it out without having a

"He is here, " Riona's gaze shifted from the messy floor and roamed the room with a brow raised as she searched for whoever Nix was talking about. Being all-knowing really makes life easier. "Who?" She asked. Her eyes were now on Nix but her body was on alert and ready to defend in case of any attacks although she couldn't yet use her powers. What did they inject me with? Nix remained quiet, staring at her window then her lips pulled down into a frown. Riona didn't expect it when something came crashing right through the window, shattering the glass in the process. Nix stood, glaring at the intruder. "There is a door!" Then she heard a voice, deep, calming... Familiar, "I know that." Riona went to her feet, staring at the new scene before her. Her mind trying to form out where she had heard that voice before, and who it belonged to as she tilted her face to the side in an attempt to see who it was since he had his back turned to her when he cam

"Now tell me who you are?" "Nix," she said immediately. Riona just stood still half tempted to clean up the mess in the room, how did she manage to live here? Instead, she waited with her gaze on Nix for her to continue, she didn't. "You say that like I am supposed to know you." "Uhh... I am a god," She said, sounding more like a suggestion. Nix frowned at the blank stare Riona was giving her. Of course, she doesn't believe me, maybe I should have put on my dead serious face. "A god." "Yes, Nix the all-knowing," She spoke proudly. Nothing put a dent in Riona's blank look of disbelief. You could at least laugh instead Of looking at me like that. With a sigh, Nix got up from the bed and did the thing. In a blink of an eye, the room transformed from a messy pig style to a blank white canvas. Riona's expression veered to that of surprise with her mouth slightly open and her eyes looking everywhere, It's plain white there is nothing to look at

Lennox growled, low and menacing with a hidden promise of destruction while his fist punched holes in the wall. Just a few minutes from going insane. Nix flinched every time his hand connected with the wall, just Imagining an actual person in the wall's place as Lennox probably was. Doesn't that hurt? He is really mad. She gulped hard, what do I do? "Uhm... L-" "Don't say anything Nix, just don't." He gave the wall one last hard punch that rocked it. Yikes! Then he calmed down just a fraction enough to take a seat with his hand holding his head. But he was obviously still tense with his stiff body. Of course, he isn't even hurt by that. Nix watched him vent since he saw them drag Riona's unconscious body into the white room and he was not happy, not happy? Understatement. I just watched him punch a wall for like an hour. That was his mate? You are cruel author and the poor wall is just... Wow. What do I even say to him? "This was not supposed to hap
