Riona's head whipped back to see if she had successfully lost Marshall. He clung to her all through like a second skin, she had looked around the bustling town and couldn't stop her eyes from looking at everything. Every kind of creature could be found doing their own business and it was a sight that put a beaming smile on her face. "I know why you are here." A Disembodied voice said. The voice sounded so close but no one was around her, her eyes darted around in search of the owner of the voice. "I have all the answers." That voice again! It definitely belonged to a woman... The voice was in her head and it knew why she was here. Her heart picked up and her breathing became uneven, was someone messing with her? "Don't panic Riona, just turn around," final words from the voice before it went quiet. She froze, why did she have to turn around? Could she trust the voice and what was waiting for her to turn? Her questions could only be answered in one w
"What do you mean by we have time?" Riona leaned forward in her chair. She wondered if Lia would try to keep her there, Marshall was probably still looking for her thinking she was probably lost and helpless. "The air Riona, this whole place is filled with time stones which react to your presence." Riona's brows furrowed while she had a blank stare at Lia. "You know nothing about yourself, this makes it even more difficult." Lia sighed and laid back in her chair, trying to relax. Riona studied her, something she did more often than before. Lia may have looked laid back and easy but her body was stiff, she was on her guard just as Riona was. "The one known power of the white wolf... You can manipulate time, depending on your mood, the time stone channels your power which causes time to stop when you are calm and move pretty fast when you feel strong emotions." Lia's eyes gleamed when she spoke, "you can't use it a will yet but with a little practice." She had such power? This wa
Riona stirred awake, her heart raced when she noticed her mask was not on her face. Opening her eyes was more tasking than usual as her body felt too heavy for her. Her tired eyes swept across the room until They caught sight of a lurking figure at the window. She could remember what had happened before she passed out, all the information made her head throb and a groan escaped her lips. "You are awake!" Lia came to her side. "What did I do?" Lia had placed her on a bed where she was passed out till noon. Cleaning up the mess was easy if she could use her powers but she figured that Riona had drained her in the earlier incident. "You are way more powerful than I could have imagined Riona, losing control and triggering your powers like that could put the people around you in danger." Lia's gaze was serious and focused on Riona. Revealing her vulnerability could be dangerous since the walls had ears and Lia's enemies could attack at any point. Her powers would return but only w
Lennox tried to keep calm by taking a shower after his run but not of that was helping. "Mate." He growled to himself. He could feel himself losing his senses with every passing second, maybe it was the fact that a full moon was coming soon because the need to complete the mating process and claim her as his was unbearable but she wasn't ready and he knew that. Answering his urges would just make her hide from him more than she already did, he may get her body but not her heart. "Fuck! Where is she." He slammed his hand hard against the wall, making a dent. It was already late enough and she was yet to return from her damn date, he knew he should have gone after them. What could they possibly be doing out together by this time? Was he a fool for letting his mate go with another male? Of course he was, but holding her back would just complicate things. "Fuck," He muttered to himself before turning off the water. All his attempts to remain calm proved futile. He sighed and go
"What do you mean by I should complete my mating process, why does that even matter." Riona stared blankly at Lia, she knew she could trust her but she wasn't letting herself. "It's a full moon soon Riona, I'm sure you have heard about the tales of moon madness," her expression was serious. "It's a myth," Riona said. Riona had heard about it from her father but it was just a silly story and besides she had never heard of anyone going crazy on the full moon just because their mating process was incomplete. "A wolf mating with his other half after they meet and activate the bond is important, there are no records of people getting moon madness because in the present-day people act on their instincts." It was late enough, Riona couldn't even sit to listen to this. First, she finds out she is under a thousand years old curse that is preventing her from becoming the wolf queen, and that her best friend who betrayed and killed her is after her crown and now this? "I can't do that."
"Mark me." Riona could see his emotions in his eyes as he stared into her own. He hesitated to do it until she gave him a slight nod, his heart was beating just as fast as hers and she could feel it, in that moment they were connected in a way they didn't understand. Lennox went back to kissing her skin, not able to get enough of her. The towel he had around him had come off at some point, he ripped her dress off her body causing her to gasp in response. He pulled back to see her body, taking note of every curve she had. To him, she was his perfect luna and way more than he had ever thought she would be. "You are beautiful," he said more to himself than her. Riona blushed at his comment, she had never done this before even when Marshall asked for it but something didn't seem right to her then but now Riona wanted to drown in this pleasure. His hardness pressed against her and she could feel it throb as she moaned. Lennox groaned and went back to kissing her, he lick
Riona woke up with a smile on her face, she yawned and stretched in bed which was a little difficult with Lennox's hand around her waist as he held her close, and for the first time in a while, Riona felt safe, she watched him in his sleep as his red hair fanned over his face, she secretly loved his hair but wondered how it could be so red. With a lingering kiss on his head, She quietly snuck out of his room and returned to her room dropping down on her bed with her arms spread out and the smile on her face even wider. Her cheeks flamed red when she thought of how amazing it felt to be with him, her hand came up to her shoulders to caress his mark on her... She had been claimed. Riona rememberd what he said, how could he be the alpha of the midnight pack when he is the exact opposite of what she had heard of him, she couldn't even hate him after hearing that from him especially since she has seen a soft side to him, one she guessed he had only for his people and her. J
"There is only one way out Riona but you have to be selfish." It didn't have to be that way, Riona tried to convince herself. Lia's plan was tempting especially since she would get to see her mom but what if she isn't able to rid her mind of the effects of going to the human world. There was too much at risk no matter the decision she made. Her people needed their luna but if she stayed she would die again but this time for good, if Lia managed to trick Lily into sending her to the human world then there was a chance for her to return for her people and with her mother by her side. "She is impatient Riona, her hatred for you fuels her every day but if you want to try and turn the tables then there is no other way." "How does Lennox fit into all this, I don't need him going too," Riona said. "Mates need each other to survive Riona that is how it is, he will weaken and die if he is away from you but if he is by your side he may be a reason for your memories to re
"Where are we going? You are moving like you know this place." "You don't need to follow me you know." 'Like I have a choice' she muttered under her breath. Walking was a challenge since she sprung her leg but she rather crawl than let herself lose guard around Lennox again. When he offered to carry her, she flat-out denied him and now he was being an ass, taking long strides she couldn't keep up with just to make her ask for his help but he had no idea the extent of her pride. After the incident of the last time, they stuck to lower ground, following a clear path. Lennox didn't know why but his instincts had become somewhat sharper and more accurate, his sense of smell too. He was able to track the hot spring earlier and the fruit, because he caught a whiff, Of it and tracked their smell. Now, although it was faint he could smell salt water forward which meant the ocean sea, he could lead her out of the forest and to the beach of the island then they would figure more
Riona cried out at the sight of the hot bubbling water, almost tripping in her mission to pull off her shoes. Freed of her shoes, she took eager steps forward, standing on one foot and then putting the other down to test the waters. She paused when her hand moved, about to start on the button fly of her pants. Her gaze shifted behind her to find him watching her with a gleam of expectation in his eyes. “You will be leaving right now.” “I said I would help you.” “I don't need help, especially from you, I know how to bathe myself.” “But you’re tired and hurt. Why not let me help? Let me take care of you.” She glared daggers at him. "I hurt my leg not my hand, now fuck off." "Why fight this?" “Either you leave or I will.” “Fine.” He shrugged. “I will leave because I can't have you not bathing and stinking up the place. Call me if you need me.” Stink? How could he even say that? She sniffed around her just to make sure. That bastard. She knew h
Riona groaned with a beaming grin resting on her face. She had the best dream ever although she could never openly admit it, a forbidden dream that felt like she had a taste of heaven in that moment of pure bliss. She opened her eyes and was met with dark Stone walls, a cave? It didn't matter since she felt good well until she felt the cold breeze twinkling her body and causing goosebumps to erupt as she shivered. Oh no! Her gaze moved down and for some reason she was completely naked, the smile she had on dropped into a hard frown. Why am I naked? Her mind panicked when she couldn't formulate any other answer except one and how she wished she was wrong or probably having a nightmare. Unfortunately, she knew that her so-called dream was not a dream, she really threw herself at Lennox and then slept with him. Her hands flew to her mouth, covering her gasp. What was I thinking? Right, I wasn't. "You are finally awake." Out of all the times to arrive, he
Riona opened her eyes, her breath short and her body on fire with pure desire. She brought her hand down to roam her body and she shuddered at the sensation. "You are awake!" The sound of Lennox's dark voice fueled her need and an involuntary moan escaped her. She couldn't start to explain what exactly was happening but her mind was foggy and her body craved release. "Help me..." She whimpered in a barely audible voice. Lennox was by her side in a matter of seconds, worry clouding his expression then confusion. Her eyes were watering and she looked to be in pain as she grasped his hand and pulled it to her body. "Touch me... Please." "What?" He breathed out. Her request was impossible to reject but a part of him knew she wasn't in her right mind and she would hate him even more if he actually did. Riona groaned as her body throbbed and she couldn't stop herself anymore. She pushed Lennox back to the ground and straddled his waist. She planned to
There was no guide on how to take care of a girl while stranded on a dangerous island and even if there was Lennox had definitely not read it. He had been walking for hours with Riona in his arms and his heart swelled with pride that she trusted him enough to fall asleep unguarded, snuggling into him although he knew she was passed out because of stress but that didn't stop him from believing what he wanted to believe. Even though his arms were tired and his legs ached making him very aware of his weakness, but in a weird way he couldn't explain he took joy in this little moment that shouldn't mean anything. Riona's leg had swollen a bit but now it was starting to come down. Lennox scouted for a place to lay for the night as the sun was setting but there was no sign of a house or a simple cave, which was to be expected since being on a dangerous island, no one in their right mind would want to be here. Just as the thought left him, there was a voice. "I remember you."
What are my doing? Lennox was yet to comprehend his actions of helping Riona to escape, and leaving the organization and now he was stuck on a dangerous island while being as weak as a mortal. "You pray I don't make it out of here or I will end you the very chance I get." Riona threatened with gritted teeth. He gulped at the seriousness in her voice. I am a victim too. When Nix offered to save her, he couldn't explain the relief that washed over him, extinguishing his anger enough for him not to want to murder someone. Even now he couldn't stop wanting to protect her as she recklessly climbed up a mountain, taking every step with the potential of falling to her death. Did she forget she was no longer supernatural? His hand shot up as a reflex when Riona lost her footing but she still held on. His heart was at stake with the way it sped up, wanting to escape his chest whenever Riona did anything, even look at him. He might just not make it out without having a
"He is here, " Riona's gaze shifted from the messy floor and roamed the room with a brow raised as she searched for whoever Nix was talking about. Being all-knowing really makes life easier. "Who?" She asked. Her eyes were now on Nix but her body was on alert and ready to defend in case of any attacks although she couldn't yet use her powers. What did they inject me with? Nix remained quiet, staring at her window then her lips pulled down into a frown. Riona didn't expect it when something came crashing right through the window, shattering the glass in the process. Nix stood, glaring at the intruder. "There is a door!" Then she heard a voice, deep, calming... Familiar, "I know that." Riona went to her feet, staring at the new scene before her. Her mind trying to form out where she had heard that voice before, and who it belonged to as she tilted her face to the side in an attempt to see who it was since he had his back turned to her when he cam
"Now tell me who you are?" "Nix," she said immediately. Riona just stood still half tempted to clean up the mess in the room, how did she manage to live here? Instead, she waited with her gaze on Nix for her to continue, she didn't. "You say that like I am supposed to know you." "Uhh... I am a god," She said, sounding more like a suggestion. Nix frowned at the blank stare Riona was giving her. Of course, she doesn't believe me, maybe I should have put on my dead serious face. "A god." "Yes, Nix the all-knowing," She spoke proudly. Nothing put a dent in Riona's blank look of disbelief. You could at least laugh instead Of looking at me like that. With a sigh, Nix got up from the bed and did the thing. In a blink of an eye, the room transformed from a messy pig style to a blank white canvas. Riona's expression veered to that of surprise with her mouth slightly open and her eyes looking everywhere, It's plain white there is nothing to look at
Lennox growled, low and menacing with a hidden promise of destruction while his fist punched holes in the wall. Just a few minutes from going insane. Nix flinched every time his hand connected with the wall, just Imagining an actual person in the wall's place as Lennox probably was. Doesn't that hurt? He is really mad. She gulped hard, what do I do? "Uhm... L-" "Don't say anything Nix, just don't." He gave the wall one last hard punch that rocked it. Yikes! Then he calmed down just a fraction enough to take a seat with his hand holding his head. But he was obviously still tense with his stiff body. Of course, he isn't even hurt by that. Nix watched him vent since he saw them drag Riona's unconscious body into the white room and he was not happy, not happy? Understatement. I just watched him punch a wall for like an hour. That was his mate? You are cruel author and the poor wall is just... Wow. What do I even say to him? "This was not supposed to hap
