Ava didn't know what happened to them. One day, they were a wealthy family, and the next, they can no longer afford to travel abroad. It all started when his father got into gambling. Without their knowledge, her father already sold some of their properties abroad. He can't stop anymore. All he wants is to gamble. No matter how much money he wastes, he no longer cares.
"Ava, this has to stop. People are talking about us!" Ava sighed when the first thing she heard as she came out of her is her sister's complaint.
"Sophia, what do you want me to do?" Ava asked, feeling drained early in the morning.
"Be the big sister! Talk to dad, for god's sake." Sophia pleaded.
"Haven't I done that already?" She asked her sister. Ava talked to their father numerous times, but all she got was a nod.
"He can't go on like this. Sooner rather than later, we will be living in the streets." Sophia looked seriously stressed out about the situation.
"I don't know what to do anymore. If you want, be emancipated, Soph. There's nothing we can say or do to make him stop." Ava replied with a tone of surrender.
Eva walked away from her sister. She had done everything she can do to make their father quit gambling. Her patience has reached its limits, and she's done. She's earning money for herself and her future. That's all she cares about now. With their father's gambling addiction, she is no longer expecting an inheritance from him.
As she walked to her car, she passed by the spot where a particular incident happened—something that she still dreamt about sometimes. It was the night that she lost something she didn't know was important to her. Laughing at her petty reminiscent, Ava get in her car and left.
Thirty minutes later, she arrived at the shopping mall where one of her store branches is located. After her college graduation, she worked at their company for a short while, but she never liked being there. Her father's presence is something that makes her ashamed of herself since that night. So she decided to put up her own business.
For ten years, Ava worked her ass off to succeed. At first, it was hard because of the tough competition. But eventually, her clothing business rose to the top. She finished business administration, but her passion has always been fashion designing. Now, she designs and manages the production of her clothing line. For the past five years, she has had six branches and two huge production sites.
"Good morning Ms. Ava."
"Good morning, Ma'am Ava."
"Good morning, Ma'am."
Her employees greeted her with a smile as she walked to their office lobby. Ava's most important lesson in life is to be good to your employee. Her mother taught her that. Vivienne Rothschild is the kind of mother anyone would hope for. She's loving and caring. And she has a golden heart. As Ava grew older, she understood that the attitude and mindset they acquired from their father might have turned their mother from her grave.
When she died, their father influenced them to be boastful and rude to the lower class. He made them think that they are better than those people who were not lucky enough to have the life they enjoyed. Ava brutally realized that mistake.
"Good morning, Ms. Rothschild. Here's the report about the biggest names in the industry." Her secretary, Linda, greeted as she passed the file Ava requested.
"Thank you, Linda." Ava skimmed through the file. It was a compilation of businesses and their owners—Ava's competitors. She was almost finished when she saw a familiar surname.

- Flashback-
"Ava, look. He's staring at you." Laura teased her as she secretly points a young man across them. "I think he likes you."
"He's so gorgeous, right?" Emma exclaimed. Yes, he is handsome.
"Yeah, he's gorgeous for a squatter boy." Hilary sarcastically said.
"Hey, I just had a brilliant idea." Sabrina whispered."
- End of Flashback-
That was the beginning of the biggest mistake she had in her life. They planned everything how she would entertain his attempts to befriend her, how she would act that she likes him. She agreed to their plan even though she knew it was wrong, but she thought it was fun. Ava did have fun for a while. She enjoyed seeing him follow her like a lost puppy. Until her acts slowly became real. She had to stop before she became a laughing stock. But she never planned it to end that way. It was not supposed to end like that.

Sophia was left alone in their mansion. She's rising a star with a bright future ahead of her. But her father's gambling addiction put her in the wrong spot. Tabloids publish blind items about a star from a wealthy family with a gambling addict as a father. Movie and commercial offers became less and less. She can't even get out of the mansion without paparazzi following her around or reporters trying to get a scoop about her family.
"Oh my God!" Sophia exclaimed as she browses through her F******k feeds.
There's a photo of her father getting dragged outside a well-known casino. The post caption stated that her father was carried by security because he refuses to leave after losing all his money on a poker game. Sophia started crying and thinking that the situation just got even worst. Producers will no longer take her even as a supporting role because of this scandal. Sophia screamed out of frustration. She just managed to calm down when she saw her boyfriend's name on her phone's screen.
[Hey, I just saw the F******k post about your dad, are you okay?] Gavin asked on the other line.
"No, I'm not okay!" Sophia cried even harder. "I want to get away from him!"
[Well, I can help with that. My mom just purchased a beach house. If you want, we can stay there for a while.] Gavin offered.
"You'd do that for me?" She emotionally asked Sophia.
[Of course. So, I'll pick you up later? 8 o'clock so we can avoid traffic.] He said.
"Okay, see you."
Sophia's mood slightly changed after talking to her boyfriend. His idea is something she needed, especially at this point. She needs to get away for a while, from her father, from show business, from her life.

Gregory Rothschild immediately called his lawyer as soon as he gets into his car. He is seething in anger because of the shame he had to face. He can't believe he got dragged out of a casino after spending millions on the establishment. He wants to get back at them. He will sue them for shaming him.
"Atty. Delos Santos, I want you to file a lawsuit against High Stake Poker." Gregory said in an authoritative tone.
[Greg, you can't even pay me anymore. If I were you, I'd go home. Bye, Greg.] His attorney responded on the other line.
"What—hello! What the!"
Gregory had no choice but to drive away from the casino. He can't wrap his mind around the reality that he no longer holds any power. The only thing remarkable in him right now is his last name—a name which he inherited from a long line of wealthy aristocrats who excelled in various aspects.
While driving, Gregory thought of the easiest and fastest way to regain their status. He realized that he needs to utilize what resources are available in front of him. He decided to meet with some of his old friends to offer them a deal. One of them agreed and was excited when he heard about Gregory's plan.
Six o'clock when Gregory arrived at their mansion with Don Lorenzo Aguilar. A wealthy mining company owner he met a few decades ago. Lorenzo was the one who provided him the diamond he used when he proposed to his late wife.
"Ava! I'm glad your home; where's your sister?" Gregory asked his oldest daughter.
"Upstairs," Ava answered coldly.
"No, baby. Stay here." Gregory stopped her from ascending the stairs. "Norma, will you call Sophia?" Gregory ordered their maid. "Come here, sit down." Ava started to get confused when she saw an older man she remembered from way back and two younger men beside him.
"What is it this time, Dad?" Sophia greeted her father the same way as Ava.
"Sweethearts, meet my dear friend, Don Lorenzo Aguilar, and his sons, Michael and Francis." Gregory introduced them. "We have a very important matter to discuss. Come on, sit down."
Ava and Sophia had no choice but to sit down on the couch in front of Don Lorenzo and his sons. Ava and Sophia are secretly cursing their father in their mind. When Sophia saw Francis smiling at him, she almost vomited. Ava, on the other hand, is trying her best to stay hospitable and friendly even though she can feel goosebumps all over her body.
"Dad, what's going on?" Ava can't wait anymore.
"We're here to discuss your marriage." Gregory smiled at both of them.
"No! No way!" Sophia violently reacted to their father's announcement."Dad, please tell us this is a joke." Ava hoped their father would laugh and say that he was kidding, but he didn't."Hija, your wealth is rapidly decreasing, and if you don't do anything about it, you will lose everything," Lorenzo speaks up. "I am offering you a better future out of the kindness of my heart.""Yeah, our wealth is rapidly decreasing because of his gambling!" Sophia retaliated. "Why don't you marry them instead, dad?""Watch your mouth, kid!" Gregory warned him."Watch my mouth!" Sophia already had enough of his father. "You want to sell us to these ugly, sweaty retards so you can keep your wealthy status! What kind of a father are you?""How dare you insult my sons in front of me!" Don Lorenzo angrily stood up." Let's go, boys. We're leaving." He called his sons, who are both bowing down. "I will never forget this, Gregory."Don Lorenzo and his so
Gregory's gambling habits worsened. He met a leader of a syndicate who agreed to lend him money without any collateral. He didn't even think of what could happen if he couldn't pay him back. All he cared about was that he could gamble. He felt that after so many losses, he would finally win to regain the vast amount of money he lost. But luck won't side with Gregory no matter how much he asked for it. And Gregory's time to pay has come. But he couldn't come up with the money he owed."Mr. Rothschild, I'm sure we don't have to tell why we are here." A large man with a gun holstered in his pocket stepped out of the car when Gregory went out of the mansion."Yes, i—please tell him that I need more. Just a little bit more." Gregory pleaded."The boss won't be happy in this kind of excuse, Mr. Rothschild." He warned."I know, I'm sorry. Please tell him that I will pay. Just a little more time." Gregory felt like any moment; he would piss himself.
At the Montez residence,Maids are busy cleaning the entire mansion while the gardeners trim the plants and roses in the garden. A party organizer is busy giving out orders to put all the decorations needed for tomorrow night. It was D.A's mother, Aileen Montez's birthday."Mom, why are you out here?" D.A immediately attended to her mother. Having a digital wheelchair made her life easier. She can go almost anywhere in the mansion without disturbing anyone."I'm getting bored inside that ginormous house. I need fresh air." Aileen stated."I know. I just don't want to get hurt," D.A responded. "What's the sense of getting a private nurse for you if you let her do her job?""Divina, I can handle myself. Besides, operating this digital wheelchair you bought for me is not that hard." Aileen answered, teasing her lesbian daughter using her first name."D.A, Mom. It's D-A." D.A said, irritated."Why are you changing your name?" Aileen said,
"Marionne! Wait!"Ava couldn't let her sister marry someone she doesn't love because of their father. She has to do something. Maybe, regardless of what happened between them in the past, he would listen to her."Marionne!"Ava tried to call him again, but he chose to ignore her. He continuously walks towards his car."Damn it! Marionne, will you stop!"At last, Marionne stopped walking, but he kept his back on her."Marionne, please, talk to me," Ava begged."What is it, Ava?" Marionne asked her blankly.Marionne turned around and faced the very first woman he loved and broke his heart. It's been twelve years since they last saw each other."What do you want, Marionne? Why are you doing this?" Ava asked in an accusatory tone."Oh! You think I'm here because I wanted to? I have my own company to manage, Ava. You and your family's drama is the last thing I need." Marionne responded in a contemptuous tone."T
Sunday morning, both Ava and Sophia are at home. Ava worries about her younger sister, who hasn't said a word since the night that Marionne arrived with their father. Gregory, who was disappointed and mad with how Sophia acted, won't talk to them, too. He despised Sophia for demanding that Marionne will not give him any money once they got married. He surely didn't expect her youngest daughter to defy him like that."Aren't you going to talk to Sophia, Dad?" Ava said to her father, who's drinking his coffee in his study room."Why would I? You two seem to forget I am your father." Gregory said hatefully."That's right; you're our father," Ava responded in the same manner. "And selling you're selling us like some piece of goods.""Is that all you have to say to me?" Gregory asked dismissively. "If yes, you can go.""You're unbelievable," Ava replied. "I'm sure Mom will be ashamed of you."Ava left her father with utter disappointment in her h
Sophia went home as soon as she can. Her father and some goons are waiting for her by their garage. She felt scared. Sophia thought that they already killed him. But she let out a sigh of relief when she saw them drag him out of a car. He was beaten, but at least he's still alive. Sophia was about to approach her boyfriend when one of the goons pointed a gun at him."I don't think so, sweetheart." Her father said while smiling devilishly. "So you got two choices. You will marry Marionne Castello and provide for this family, or you will marry Mr. Agoncillio and pay for my debts." A large, older man stepped forward."I sure hope you would rather marry me." He said while staring at her. He looked like a rabid dog. The only thing missing is him salivating."No, I will not marry any man other than him." Sophia firmly said."Then we'll give you another choice." The older man said. "You will marry the man you're father or me wanted to you marry, and he will live
Marionne spends most of his at the Rothschild mansion to help Sophia prepare for their wedding. In the first days, Sophia won't even talk to him, but now, she willingly participates in their wedding preparations. Ava's starting to worry about her sister's perspective about the marriage. Marionne is starting to get under her skin."Hey, pretty. How's your morning?" Marionne asked Sophia when he arrives bearing a bouquet of red roses and a box of her favorite cupcake."It was okay, you?" Sophia asked back in a more civilized tone."Great, I slept well last night and woke up feeling great," Marionne answered enthusiastically. "I guess getting married will make you feel that way." He looked at Sophia's eyes intently."Really?" Sophia smiled and blushed.Ava was just a few feet away from them and can hear their every conversation. She can feel Marionne's every effort to make Sophia fall in love with him. And her sister is like a willing victim biting hi
Ava went to her office early because he doesn't want to see Marionne at their house. Not that she's jealous or whatever. She just can stand him being around. His acts of sweetness and care for her sister makes her want to gouge out her eyes. So instead of staying in the house, she'll just leave early. "Hi, Ma'am Ava. Good morning, do you need the sales report now?" Her staff asked me. "Seriously? You're really asking me that question?" Ava asked in an annoyed tone. "And who are you? "I'm a new hire, Ma'am. I'm sorry." She said apologetically. "Who hired you?" I asked again, still annoyed. "Uhm, me, Ms. Ava." Her branch manager immediately approached her. "Next time, don't hire stupid people." She said while clenching her jaw. Ava is not the kind of boss who would be mean to her employees. She always shows nothing but kindness. But for some reason, she's really not in the mood today. Sitting at her office, thinking about her sis
Gregory woke up feeling dizzy, his throat was parched, and his body aches all over. Last night's beating was worst than the nights. He already lost track of how long he's been inside his dark cell. They give him food once in a while and water, but it's only enough to keep him alive. In his mind, he knew that his daughter would come looking for him. He's their father, and they won't just let him rot in that cell. He believes that his daughters are already scouring the earth to find him."Gregory Rothschild. How the mighty have fallen? How are you, dear friend?" Gregory heard the voice he came to loathe."You won't break me, Lorenzo. My daughters are looking for me right now. And my soon-to-be son-in-law is one of the wealthiest men you could ever meet. Once they realized that it's you who took me, you're going to pay for it." Gregory threatened him. But Lorenzo just laughed at him."Marionne Castello? I know him, and I saw him just before coming here, with
Marionne continues to work his magic with Sophia. He maintains a caring and loving fianceé. Sophia is like a willing victim, believing everything he says and does. And Ava remains the antagonist in their love story. "Sophia, can we talk?" Ava approaches her sister in the kitchen. Sophia didn't even bother her annoyance with her. "What now, Ava? If this about my fianceé, I don't want to hear it." Sofia said without looking at her. "But, Soph—" Ava tried to explain, but Sophia immediately cut her off. "But what, Ava? Are you going to tell me again that Marionne is not the man for me? That he is who I think he is? Are you going to say to me again that he is just using me? Using me for what, Ava? The last time I checked, our overall remaining assets don't even reach half of his wealth. So, what is he using me for? And why are you talking like you know him so well?" Sophia could not hold back anymore. Ava wanted to answer all her questions, but she

Marionne was trying to keep the details of his marriage to his father. He knew that his father would not be happy about his plans. But their marriage made the front page and news on tv. It even became trending on social media. It was like a wildfire that started as a flicker then spread uncontrollably."Marionne, what is this?" His father forcefully placed a newspaper at the table showing him and Sophia on a sweet picture together. "What on earth are you thinking, son?""Dad, calm down, okay? I know what I'm doing." Marionne answered his father calmly."You know what you're doing. It doesn't seem to me that way. You're marrying a Rothschild. How could you say that you know what you're doing?" Crisanto asked his son, with a hint of disappointment in his voice."Just trust me, Dad. Please?" Marionne begged."How could you do this to me?" His father walked away with a heavy heart.
