Dominic’s pov

I leaned back in my chair, studying Selena’s expression. She was hiding something, but I couldn't quite figure out what it was.

“Selena, come on,” I said, trying to convince her into opening up. “We've known each other for years. I can tell when something’s bothering you.”

Selena’s expression didn’t change, but I saw a faint glimpse of emotion in her eyes.

“Is it Elena?” I asked, my voice low. “Are you jealous of her?” I continued, trying to bring the words out of her mouth.

Selena’s eyes flashed, and for a moment, I thought I saw what seemed to look like anger. But then, her expression smoothed out, and she laughed out loud.

“Jealous of her?” Selena repeated, her voice dripping with scorn. “Don’t be ridiculous, Dominic. I’m just worried about you and the organization, like I said earlier.”

I raised an eyebrow, Selena was a terrible liar, and I knew she was hiding something. But I also knew that pushing her too hard would only make her pretend even further.

Dominic’s PovI walked into Elena’s room, my mind still occupied with the silly and surprising conversation with her father. I had so many questions for her, so many things I wanted to know if she’s willing to open up. And I knew that Elena was the only one who could provide me with the answers I was looking for, I hope so.Elena looked up as I entered, her eyes flashing with a mixture of fear and anger. She was sitting on the bed, her back against the headboard, and she looked like she had been crying for quiet some time.I sat down next to her, my eyes locked on hers. “We need to talk,” I said, with a calm and gentle voice.Elena nodded, her eyes never leaving mine. “About what?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. “About your father,” I said finally. “is he really your father? Because I don’t know why he would be so willing to sacrifice you for his debt.”Elena’s eyes flashed, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer

Elena PovI lay in bed, as I couldn’t get over the shock and confusion that was going on in my mind. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. Dominic of all people, the merciless and cruel man who had taken me from my father without hesitation, had just shown me kindness and compassion.I thought back to our conversation, trying to process everything he had said. He had promised to protect me, to keep me safe from my father’s cruelty. He had told me that he wasn’t a monster, that he was a man who cared about the people around him.But how could that be? I had seen the way he treated his guards, the way he spoke to them with contempt and disdain. I had seen the way he looked at me, like I was nothing more than a goddamn prisoner who had been abandoned by her family. And yet, when he spoke to me just now, his voice was soft and gentle. His eyes were kind and compassionate and portrayed deep affection. It was like he was a different person Entirely. I didn’t know what to make of i

Dominic’s POVI stepped out of the mansion, the cool night air enveloping me. My mind was still filled with the conversation with Elena, her words echoing in my head like an alarm.I couldn’t quite get over the feeling of pity that I felt towards her. As I walked towards the car, my driver, a well-built, huge muscular man, nodded at me. “Boss, we’ve got quite a situation,” he said, his voice low and urgent.I raised an eyebrow, curiously, as I listened because I was ready for anything and at any time. “What kind of situation?” I growled. The driver hesitated as he looked around before speaking up. “There’s been a rumor, boss. A rumor that your rival is making moves, trying to take over our territory.”My eyes narrowed, This was not a threat I took lightly. My rival had been trying to bring me down for years but failed. I’ve always managed to stay one fucking step ahead. But this time, something felt different. This time, I felt like I was walking into a trap, something didn’t just f

Dominic’s POVI walked out of the bathroom, my eyes scanning the room. And that was when I saw them. Six men, all dressed in black and wearing masks, were scattered around the room. They were all armed, and they looked like they fucking meant business.I didn’t hesitate. I raised my gun and started firing, taking out the men one by one. They didn’t stand a chance. I was a mafia boss, and I knew how to handle myself in a fight. Before they could process what was happening, they were all down. As the last man fell to the ground, I walked over to him and stood over him, my gun still pointed directly at his head. “Who sent you?” I growled, my voice cold and deadly. The man looked up at me, his eyes filled with fear. “P…please,” he stuttered. “Don’t kill me.”I raised an eyebrow, my grip on the gun tightening. “You should have fucking thought of that before you came after me,” I said, my voice dripping with malice. But then, something made me held back my hand. Elena’s POVI walked down the hallway, my feet carrying me towards Sophia’s room. I had been thinking about our last conversation, and I wanted to talk to her again. As I approached her room, I heard the sound of her voice, but it was low and secretive. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should interrupt her, or I should just head back to my room and come back when she’s less busy, but then I suddenly heard my name.“Elena….” Sophia said, her voice barely above a whisper. My heart skipped a beat as I froze, my ears perked up to listen. Who was Sophia talking to? And why the fuck was she mentioning my name? What business do I have to do with the so-called person? I leaned in closer, trying to hear more of the conversation, with whosoever she’s talking to. But Sophia’s voice was too quiet, and I couldn’t hear anymore of the conversation or what exactly she was saying to the person on the other end.Just as I was about to give up and knock on the door, Sophia’s voice grew louder.

Elena’s POVAfter what felt like an eternity, it was finally dinner time. I sat in my room, staring blankly at the wall as I waited for the maid to bring my dinner. It was a familiar routine, one that I had grown familiar with over the months I had been living in this mansion. The maids would bring my meals to my room, and I would eat alone, often lost in my thoughts. The door to my room opened, and one of the maids, a quiet and reserved woman, entered with a tray of food. She set it down on the small table in front of me and smiled softly.“Enjoy your dinner, Elena,” she said, before turning to leave.I nodded my thanks and began to eat, my mind wandering as I chewed my food. I was lost in thought, my concerns about Sophia and her behavior still weighing heavily on my mind.As I finished my meal, I pushed the tray away and stood up, I needed to clear my head and get some fresh air.I walked over to the door and opened it, peeking out into the hallway to make sure the coast was clear

Elena’s POVI turned around and headed back to the kitchen, hoping to get the answers I wanted. As I entered the kitchen, Maria looked up from what she was doing, a hint of curiosity in her eyes.“Hey, Elena,” she said. “You came back. What’s up?”“I was wondering if I could ask you something,” I said, trying to sound casual.Maria nodded, but then her expression changed. “I'm sorry, Elena, but can it wait? I’m in the middle of preparing dinner.”I looked around the kitchen and saw that it was indeed a flurry of activity. The aroma of roasting meat and fresh vegetables filled the air, making my stomach growl with hunger.“Oh, sorry,” I said. “I was so absent-minded that I didn’t realize you were this busy. But it's important.”Maria hesitated, her hands moving quickly as she chopped vegetables. “I'll talk to you after dinner, okay? I promise.”I nodded, feeling a bit disappointed. I had been hoping to get some answers right away.“Okay, no problem,” I said. “I’ll come back later.”Mar

Elena’s POV I couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. Sophia’s behavior had seemed suspicious, and I couldn’t help but wonder what she was hiding or even who she was talking to. I knew that I had to tell Dominic about Sophia’s behavior, but I was afraid of the consequences. If I told him about Sophia’s suspicious actions, and he found out that she was involved in something that could potentially harm me, he might get angry. And if he discovered that she was working against him, he might….. I couldn’t even bear to think about it. The thought of Sophia’s fate was enough to make my heart sink. But what if I didn’t tell him? What if I kept Sophia’s behavior to myself and hoped that everything would work out? Or just believe she was actually talking to her mum. I knew that was a risk I couldn’t take. Dominic was a powerful man, and he had a reputation for being ruthless when it came to those who betrayed him. If I kept something from him, and he fo
