Chapter 5

Logan stood up naked because of the constant ringing of his phone. He grabbed it from his pants pocket that was scattered on the floor. It's Apollo calling him two in the morning.

"Make sure it's important, Apollo or else hide," he growled at Apollo on the other line after he immediately answered his call. He had just finished having sex with Yvonne, and he wanted another round, but suddenly Apollo called. It's the second day he's been with Yvonne at his Villa in Agrianthropos, and he's still not tired of her because apart from being good in bed, he's temporarily distracted by Calli.

“I have something to tell you about Callixto Sandoval. Do you want me to go to your villa now? You will be happy to know," he said after answering.

Logan turned to Yvone, who also stood up and approached him. She is seductively looking at him. He slowly applied a palm to his chest down to his belly. She bit her lips while staring at him. He swallowed. His manhood gradually came to life.

“Logan?” Apollo called his name when he didn't answer.

CALLISTA'S POV

"DAD, this is what I want. Let me become a nun," I pleaded. My father doesn't want me to be a nun. He wants me to marry and build my own family in the future. We were talking in the garden.

My Dad is the Mayor of Sta. Monica, while my mom is an actress. She's not that active, but she still does movies. I'm the youngest of our three siblings, and I'm also the only girl, so they want to stop me from doing what I want.

"Why don't you try to have a date first before you decide? Logan is such a nice guy. Just give it a try.”

"What?! Daddy, no. He is a nice guy, I know, but I can't marry him. I don't see myself marrying a man." My voice started to shake, and I was about to cry. "Dad, I see Logan as a friend. I don't see him becoming a husband to me. There are many women out there who can love him better and be his good wife, but not me. I'm sorry.”

Logan is kind, and I'm sure he will love loyally like his father based on Aunt Dorcy's story. He has not even brought or introduced a woman to them because Logan wishes that the one he will marry will be brought to their house. The only thing I don't understand is why my father suddenly wants me to date Logan. Is that why Aunt Dorcy took Logan to the orphanage to build us both up? Now I get it. They want us both to be close to stopping me from my plan. I sighed. I hope that's not why Logan and Trace are also helping the orphanage get closer to me.

"I hope you'll change your mind, Calli, when you meet Logan."

"That won't change, Dad, so I hope you stop doing that. I love you, Daddy. I don't want to disobey you, but I hope you understand." Daddy took a deep breath and then slowly nodded. He extended his arms. He smiled and immediately stood up and hugged me. "Thank you, Dad,” I said while hugging him.

My father really can't stand me. I broke away from my hug with Daddy when I heard the gate open, and Mommy's car entered. She came from her shooting.

"Your mommy is already there," Dad said. We waited for Mom to come here. He will find us immediately for sure among the housemates. Just a few minutes we saw her. I greeted her and hugged her tightly. I miss her. She also spent a few days shooting in Manila.

"I missed you so much, baby," Mommy said and kissed me on the cheek. Mommy still looks young and sexy, so Daddy loves her. She always finds time to be with us. They always used to visit me in Manila.

"I missed you too, Mom." I also kissed her on the cheek. Dad also stood up and kissed Mommy on the lips. They are my ideal couple. I have nothing to criticize about Mommy and Daddy's relationship.

When Mommy had to stop acting to take care of us, she didn't think twice. She left her career for us even though she was an in-demand actress then. But it was all worth it because Mommy and Daddy raised us well. Daddy never cheated on her. He also has no dirty work in politics. That's why I love them both so much. I will miss them both when I finally enter the convent. It's only a few weeks away, and the church is also in Manila, so I'll make the most of the days I can be with them here.

LOGAN'S POV

I LEAVE Yvone sound asleep in bed to talk to Apollo. I'm still thinking about what Daddy said when I should run for Mayor in the next election next year. I'm still enjoying my life but running will also help my business and Foedus. Apollo placed the brown envelope on the glass table. I smoked a cigarette before I took it and opened it. A picture of Calixto with a woman in a restaurant flashed before me. I leaned back in the chair and grinned at Apollo.

“Calixto Sandoval, Mayor of Sta. Monica is an ideal man for his wife. But look at this. He's having an affair with this woman— his secretary," Apollo began. He followed Calixto yesterday, but here he is and has already given me some information. "This is the first information. Second...” He put down another file again.

I reached for it and read it. Anomaly in a project he made. Who would have thought that Calixto was also doing something anomalous? Dad knew him as a good and clean person. He's good at hiding. I grinned.

"This is the only information I can give right now, Logan. I'll call you as soon as I find something interesting in him. Where are you going to use that?” He curiously asked.

Where exactly? I want to know all of Calixto's stink if I run for mayor next year. But I want to use it against him and get Calli. I'm sure his weakness is his daughter. But why did I want to use this information to get Calli? Am I in love with her? I'm fucked up. Why can't I rid her of my mind?

"I'll use it against him. I'm planning to run for the candidacy of Mayor next year." Calixto has been the Mayor of our town for a decade. He is strong with the people of the city especially, and I am younger than Calixto. Our family is known for politics because Daddy is Congressman, and Trace's daddy is the Governor of their town.

"Calixto has a beautiful daughter." Apollo looked at me meaningfully.

"And?" I gave him a bored expression. He laughed out loud at my answer.

He shrugged his shoulders. "If you don't run as Mayor, I would think it's because of his daughter that you want to get, not the political position. And if I didn't know you to be a stickler for women, I would also think that you are doing this because of Calli."

"I don't need to do this to get her," I answered firmly.

"I thought that Logan had already messed with a woman." He let out an irritating laugh again.

“Annoyed,” I said.

"I'm just kidding, Logan. Why are you serious now? Are you sick? Not that you were serious about other things before, but now..."

"Fuck you! Get lost.”

"I smell the cupid hanging around here." he teases.

“Fucking damn it, Apollo! I am not into her, okay?!”

"Well..." was all he said before finally standing up and saying goodbye to leave.

I released a heavy breath, wanting to punch Apollo in annoyance.

Dev came to me. "Boss, sir Uno is looking for you. He said he needed something from you. I was called earlier because I couldn't contact you," he said.

I nodded slightly. Uno has been my friend for a long time since we were in college. Uno left for another country because his family took him with him. They wanted to marry someone else, but my friend was in love with Ellie. I was there. I witnessed how he loved Ellie so much. And now that he's back, I'm sure he won't let Ellie go.

"We will go to him after we leave here. Where's Grec?”

"Ma'am Dorcy was talking with him earlier. Are you going somewhere, Boss?”

I frowned. My mom didn't call me. No matter how busy I am, I always find time for my mom.

"Did Grec mention why Mom called him?"

Dev shook his head and shrugged. "Neither, Boss. I'll ask him."

“Clear my schedule today. We're going to Uno."

"Alright, Boss. I'll go to Grec," he said. I returned to the room. I even caught up with Yvone, who just woke up and got up. She walked in front of me naked, and went straight to the bathroom. I just took my wallet and left Yvonne. I went to the other room to take a shower. I'm done with her.
