I sat in silence. The noise of the windshield wipers filled the empty car. I was waiting for Ayla and Neko to get out so we could go home. I had gone through enough human interaction for one day.
My hands found their way to the radio button, the music filled the car leaving the noise of the windshield wipers behind. I sighed and closed my eyes. I leaned my head back against the headrest.
The sounds of the doors to the car opening and closing made me painfully aware that someone had climbed in.
Expecting to see Neko and Ayla in the car I was surprised when my eyes met my father’s. A scowl found its way to my face as I stared at him.
“You can't hate me forever Tesoro.”
“Who says I hate you?”
“You're eyes do”
My eyes shifted from him to my dashboard.
“I don't hate you, I find you rather annoying”
The chuckles of my father reached my ears making my eyes adjust back to him.
“I am your father, it is my job to annoy you”
My father's cold hand pressed against my cheek. I hadn't realized how cold he was until the touch of our skin occurred, making me shift away from his touch.
I turned my head and watched as Neko and Ayla exited the house. They quickly ran to the car.
“Have a good night Tesoro” My father spoke out as he exited the car and walked back inside.
Neko and Ayla had finally climbed inside the car.
“Took you long enough”
“We're sorry Master” Neko whispered as she buckled her seat belt.
I pulled out of the driveway and drove away without a second glance. I needed to get away from my father.

| One Week Later |
I started at the grand piano with rage. It started back at me. Silence consumed the room as my hatred for the piano grew. Why the fuck did I end up buying this thing. It was just sitting here collecting dust.
I groaned out and stood up from the seat and walked out of the Music room. When Arcano decided to build this house he made sure the contractor built me a Music room. First, I thought if I bought the piano I would eventually get over my hatred for it and play. Two years into living in the house and I had only come into this room a handful of times.
“Neko!” I yelled out as I walked down the halls.
“Yes, Master?” Neko questioned as she walked out of the kitchen and into the hall.
Neko wore nothing but an Apron and a pair of strappy heels.
“For the love of God, Put some fucking clothes on!” I yelled out in anger.
“Yes, Master” Neko whispered as she walked away from me.
I sighed as I rubbed my forehead.
“Neko wait” I sighed out in annoyance.
I had taken my anger out at her and it wasn't fair. Not that I was going to apologize but at least I was aware that I had made a mistake. Neko simply turned and looked at me with a weary look.
“Is Lunch ready?”
“Yes, would you like me to serve you some?”
“Yes”
I walked into the kitchen and sat on the island. Neko walked in and placed a plate of food in front of me. On the plate lay a Steak with some steamed Vegetables.
I cut into the steak and started to eat.
“Master, may I speak freely?” Neko whispered as she watched me eat.
I simply nodded as I continued to eat.
“Is something bothering you? You aren't one to yell” Neko whispered once again.
“I'm fine” I spoke as I continued to eat.
Neko made no sign of asking further questions. She simply bowed and exited the room. I hope it was to put some clothes on.
Halfway through my meal, the doorbell rang. I sighed as I paid no attention to it and continued eating. The doorbell rang again and I groaned out in anger when no one answered it.
“3 Fucking Slaves and yet no one can answer the door,” I grumbled as I rose from my seat and made my way to the parlor.
I opened the door to see two men dressed in slacks and buttoned shirts. One man had a chain around his neck and at the end of the chain hung a badge. The other man wore his badge at his waist.
Great. Cops.
“what can I do for you, Detective?” I questioned in annoyance.
“Miss Bella Salvatore, I am Detective Cage, and my Partner Detective Anderson, would you mind answering a few questions?” One of the detectives spoke as he flashed his badge.
“What is this about?” I questioned as I slightly closed the door and kept myself in the way of any field of vision these men may have of my home.
“We would like to ask you a few questions about a man named Herrin Lugner?”
“Yes, Herrin Lugner was the cop that went missing last week correct?”
“Yes, He was investigating your father. May we come in?”
“No, You may not,” I replied as I stepped out and closed the door behind me.
I was not about to let two cops waltz into my home.
“May we know where you were during the time of the disappearance? Last Monday around 8 at night.”
“I was at my father's home. We were having dinner.”
“And what time did you finish dinner?” Detective Cage asked.
“Around Midnight”
“Can anyone confirm that?”
“My father and his business partners”
“Very well Thank you for your time. Please feel free to contact me if you remember anything”
One of the detectives shot me a smile and handed me his card. I took it and placed it in my pocket. I gave them a simple nod and watched as they retreated into their car.
A smirk was plastered on my face as they drove away.
Once they were out of sight I turned and headed back inside. Where I was greeted by all three of my slaves.
“Nice of you to fucking show up now. I already handled it.” I grumbled out in annoyance.
All three slaves bowed down while apologizing. I simply walked away and made my way to my office. My lunch was forgotten. When I walked into my office I grabbed my phone and dialed my father's number. It rang once and he quickly answered it.
“Tesoro, what's wrong? What happened?” My father's worry could be heard on the other side.
“Two detectives just showed up at my house asking about Lugner. Did you have anything to do with that?”
“Is that bastard dead?”
“He's missing. They might question you so call the family lawyer.”
“I had no part in his disappearance but you can bet your ass I'm glad he's missing. Whoever did kidnap and kill him I'm going to treat him to drinks” My father chuckled in a dark manner.
I rolled my eyes as I could picture his face.
“No one said he was dead Arcano” I reprimanded.
“One can only hope” My father chuckled.
“Call the family lawyer, they will try to find a way to pin this on you.”
“Don’t worry Tesoro, I will handle it” My father replied.
Our goodbyes were short and curt. We hung up and I made my way to the kitchen to resume my lunch.
"Buon compleanno Tesoro" My father smiled at me as he wished me a happy birthday. "Thank you, Arcano" I simply replied. "Perché non mi chiami papà?" My father replied in a hurt tone. "You know why Arcano, and please stop speaking Italian, we both know very well you speak English," I replied nonchalantly. "Must you always be so serious?" "I was born this way and I shall die this way," I replied as I took a seat at the dinner table. “Where is everyone?” I questioned as I looked around the empty dining room. “They had errands to run, Tesoro.” My father smiled at me. “Stop It.” “Stop what?” “I know damn well you are planning a birthday party for me. I don’t do parties and you know it” I sighed in annoyance. “Don’t be ridiculous, I would never throw you a surprise birthday party.” “You are lying through your teeth Arcano.” I spat as I rose from my seat and headed out of the door in search of my father’s henchmen. “Nicoli! Giancarlo!” I yelled out looking for my fa
“Starting today you will be living in this house with me. Your room is down the hall. If you have a specific food that you like please let me know so I can have it delivered here. I’ll order some clothes for you. Until then I’ll find you something to wear.” I spoke out nonchalantly as I walked into my home. “What should I call you?” Neko whispered. “Master,” I replied curtly and made my way to the kitchen. “Are there any specific skills that you have?” I questioned as I felt Neko following me. “I can play the piano.” “Anything useful?” I added in annoyance.
“Master! Your home!” Neko yelled as I opened the front door of the house and walked in. Nicoli who was with me walked in behind me and shut the door making sure to lock it. I could hear Neko running down the stairs as she stomped on each step. I thought cats had light footsteps. Nicoli and I walked into the living room and I simply sat on the couch. Nicoli followed and sat next to me. “Has the pantherean woman started to adjust to her role here in the home?” Nicoli questioned. “I would like to think so. So far she has cooked multiple meals and so far has kept the house clean.” I replied as I stood from my seat and walked towards the mini-bar I had in the living room.
I watched as the slaves I bought were practicing their martial arts. The Lizardman was exceptional at close combat but the elven girl was falling behind and honestly that annoyed me. She was proving to be nothing but a nuisance. We were currently in the training arena that I had made on the property. It was small but with the money, I plan to make off of my new slaves and I would be able to expand the arena. “Master, someone called for you.” Neko smiled as she sauntered her way to me. I ignored her like always and picked up the phone from her hand. “What?” I questioned. “Tesoro!” my father shouted out in glee. I rolled my eyes and hung up and handed Neko the phone. “Wasn't that your father?” “Yes.” “Are you angry with him, Master?” “I don't have the energy to deal with him today.” The phone in Neko's hand started to ring once again. This time, however, Neko answered. “Hello?” “Oh yes, sir… Very well I will let her know” “Goodbye” Neko smiled as she hung up.
“Welcome Home Young Miss” Giovanni smiled as he bowed to me. “Giovanni” I acknowledged as I made my way inside. “Tesoro!” My father smiled as he walked down the hall. “Arcano, stop calling me that.” I sighed in annoyance. “Must you always be such a sourpuss?” My father grumbled as he pulled me into a hug. I placed my right hand on my father’s back, feigning a hug back. “Good Evening Neko” Arcano smiled as he let me go and pulled Neko into a hug. “Good Evening Mr. Salvatore” Neko smiled as I rolled my eyes at their interaction. Neko engulfed my father in a warm hug and almost seemed like they melted into each other. “Who is this?” “G-Good Evening Sir. My name is Ayla and I am Miss Bella's Slave.” Ayla smiled and bowed down to show my father respect. “You are such a sweetheart” My father smiled. “She is an Elven slave and as of right now, she is under Salvatore protection. Unless you have a problem with that Arcano.” “Not at all my Darling Tesoro.” “Very well sin
