Mary’s True Form

“I will be heading out now, Storm. Send my regards to Kaden. The food was nice. The man is a good host.” Storm heard the old woman, Mary, say immediately they both ate the last chunk of their food, and held back a smile. She didn’t want to appear goofy to the woman.

When they had stopped at Kaden’s place earlier, he had been the only one to lead them to the dining room, and it had made her curious about where the servants and everyone had been. When she had followed him to the kitchen to help dish the food, whilst Mary had waited in the dining room, he had explained that he had told everyone to stay in their houses—the humans—for their safety.
