Fiona Pov

As I sat in the living room, watching TV and feeling bored and hungry, I heard the door open. I turned to see Marcus walking in, a McDonald's bag in hand. I immediately perked up, my stomach growling at the sight of the food.

"You took your time," I said, trying to make small talk.

But Marcus just dropped the food on the coffee table without a word and headed towards the kitchen. I knew something was off, and I could sense his coldness. He was clearly upset about something and wasn't willing to talk about it.

I sat there, watching him as he went about his business, trying to figure out what was wrong. But it was clear he wasn't going to tell me. So I just sat there, eating my food in silence, wondering what was going through his mind.
