Chapter 66

(Third person POV)

“Hope your night was good?” Damien asked sweetly, trying to establish a friendly and humorous ambience.

“Yes….it was,” Ava answered reluctantly, still trying to figure out why Damien was being strangely sweet.

“Okay, so we are at the second phase of our marriage….” Ava nodded hesitantly, her eyes fixed on Damien, “Today we will be visiting my parents, I need you to get dressed, the car is waiting for us,” he said, tucking his hands in his pocket.

“What? Why didn't you tell me?” Ava snapped, she just got up, she hadn't dressed up, she didn't prepare to see anyone today, she didn't set out clothes for anything and Damien was telling her that she was going to see his parents when he himself said they'll be tough people to handle, was he setting her up for destruction?

‘He wouldn't do that, his two million dollars was on the line’ Ava convinced herself.

“You were already asleep when I came back yesterday that's why I didn't tell you, I'm sorry but you have to improvise,”
