Chapter 6: Tense Conversation

*Lilly*

“Cyllina!”

I heard the voice from a distance, calling me in a panicked voice.

Before my mind tricked me that I was in Luca's comfortable bedroom, my eyes shot wide opened. Because I was certainly very far from home.

“Who's that?”

I looked up and saw Luca stared between the tendrils gap with his sharp eyes. His body became rigid and tense. I instantly knew he sensed danger was nearby.

"Luca..." I called him. His hand wrapped around me even tighter, but not in the slightest he would hurt me. His bare chest warmed me, made me cling to him even more.

I was still on his lap. Crouching like a baby in his arms. He hugged me all this time and I knew he didn't want to let me go.

"Someone's getting closer..." His deep voice sounded like a warning. But I knew from my own sense who was running towards our direction.

“It's probably just Adam…” I whispered. I leaned my self against him, feeling his chest on my cheek, I could hear his heartbeat when I put my ear to his thumbing heart. I'm so relieved that he can return to his human form. I'm not playing favorite. But with Largo returning to his human form, it indicates that he has recovered and his wounds have healed.

I glanced at the scar that had completely dried. The color was no longer as dark as the last time I saw it. I smiled in relief and hugged Luca tightly.

“My Love, who's Adam?” I heard his deep voice asking me. But before I had time to answer, it turned out that Male Dryad was already not to far from here here.

"Cyllina, are you okay?!"

I tried to get up but Luca held me. I looked up and he was already looking at me with a questioning look and a frown on his perfect forehead.

“He's a Vampire…” Luca preceded me. I nodded which only made him tense even more and his eyebrows raised, as if to say how could I be so relaxed after knowing that he was a vampire.

"And..He's just like me..." I said which made Luca look at me as if he couldn't believe it.

He seemed to inhale the air deeply, looking as if he was trying to smell the scent around here.

“You are… right…” He said almost stammering.

He was also as shocked as I was at that time.

"He's not dangerous, he was actually the one who helped me to heal you." I said, smiling, as I buttoned my shirt again.

I didn't get a response from Luca, and he was helping me fix the clothes that were still attached to my body.

Luckily, the tendrils of the trees surrounding us were quite dense, so what was behind them wouldn't be so obvious from the outside if we didn't look closely.

After we were both dressed neatly, I ordered the tendrils to let us out.

There I saw him, Adam Novak, was standing not too far from one of the trees in front of us. I breathed a sigh of relief, he can’t see what we were doing inside, right? .

“I'm fine, Adam.” I said. He seemed to hide his face and repeatedly cleared his throat. "And thank you for helping me cure my mate..." I said smiling, thanking him.

"Y-yes.." He nodded seeming to be trying not to look at me. I felt Luca hug my waist tightly.

“Thank you, for saving my life and helping my mate. My name is Luca, go by name Largo as my Lcyan. And I am one of the Alphas of Lycan. Me and my mate came from Theta. I will remember your services and I will repay you with kindness in the future."

I heard Luca speak in his deep and authoritative voice, his aura made me almost sigh softly and surrender myself to him. The aura emitted by him felt so strong and made me instantly weak on my knees.

I saw Adam nod, he still seemed to be avoiding looking directly at me.

“My name is Adam Novak. I am a Dryad descendant, just like your mate, Cyllina.” He said firmly. Earlier, I saw a nervous and slightly shy Adam. Now I see a version of him who is also dignified and firm.

“I appreciate it, Alpha. But I helped Cyllina, because she was, maybe, one and only my people, who I didn't even know existed, till now…” Adam said with a flat face.

I looked up at Luca. This conversation was carried out by two men who both looked cold and didn't make many expressions that I could read.

"You're right. I was very surprised to find out that my Lilly was not the only Dryad descendant." Luca's hand now wrapped around my shoulder, pulling me even closer to his warm body.

I don't mind at all. Because to be honest, the Elden Wood forest was very cold. Is this why Adam wore such a long and thick robe? I've never seen anyone wear a robe as long and thick as his. In Theta, everyone almost always wears clothes that are thinner than those worn by Adam.

“Lilly?” I looked back at Adam who was now glancing at me for a moment.

“Hm.” Luca nodded, “My Lilly… that’s how I call my mate. Anyway, Mr. Novak, thank you for helping us and I'm sure my Lilly is happy to meet her far relatives, namely her own people.” Luca said while smiling at me.

“Ah, right. Of course we are happy to finally know each other exist. Besides, the Dryads were thought to be extinct." Adam said.

I smiled back at Luca and looked at the two of them in turn. Why do I feel like these men's conversation isn't just self-introductions and thanks? Why do I feel an aura of tension here?

“Cyllina?” Adam called me, I turned to him.

And I could feel Luca's hand gently squeezing my back.

"Sorry if I disturbed you two. But earlier I saw a flash of black shadow passing by. And the dense evil aura is clearly visible…”

I gulped when I heard Adam said it.

"I promised to take care of you, that's why I ran here to make sure you were okay. ”

I nodded, "That's right, thank you Adam..."

One thing I'm afraid of, what will be his reaction if I say who entered the portal besides me and Luca?

“If I'm not mistaken, the black shadow was heading this way….” Adam looked around. Both  I and Luca did the same.

I wanted to tell him, but my breath hitched when he continued his sentence.

“She is Mira, right? That damn Dark Witch…The one who killed our parents and all our people?"

I turned my head. His green eyes glistening, looking at me sharply.
