Chapter 9: Too Evil

He looked at Luca, then at me. "Just like what you did to ask for those Sawang leaves." He said slowly.

"You told them your name..." I muttered softly and he nodded once firmly.

“At first, I also struggled. Apart from the thorny wild plants that blocked my path, large and small wild animals that were very venomous also overwhelmed me. But then a voice asked who I was...Did they know who I am…."

I was wide-eyed. Isn't that what I heard when I first woke up here?

“Then I said my name out loud. Since then the situation began to gradually improve. It's as if they were starting to recognize me and accept me here. The thorny tendrils that originally always wanted to hurt me when I passed by, went away and disappeared by themselves. Until I realized that sunlight was slowly shining into this forest..." He said, relieved.

I assume that Elden Wood recognizes the descendants of its guardians. We both experienced the same thing. Then, who asked my name at that time?

"Do you know who spoke and asked your name at that time?" I asked him.

“I assume that voice is the voice of the remaining guardian spirit of this forest. I never saw his form at all, but when he heard my name he welcomed me, and suddenly, things started to change, just like what I told you... He occasionally spoke to me when I was in danger. Or he wants to convey a message that is sometimes still confusing for me..." He said while looking around us.

"Well... Did he call you 'my child'?" I asked him again. As I expected, Adam looked at me with wide eyes.

“Yes, he did call me that... Wait, how did you know? You… heard him too?”

I nodded. And for a few seconds passed, I tried to rack my brain.

From all the dreams and memories of my mother that I got, from the voice that I remembered, there this is one creature that always appeared in my head.

"Could it be... Nos?" I said carefully.

“Nos? Who?” Adam looked at me with a confused and curious face.

Oh… He didn't know Nos?

Adam looked at me blankly and it was clear that he didn't know who I was talking about.

I just opened my mouth to explain who Nos is, when suddenly a strong wind blew. It made the leaves, branches almost hit us. Luca reflexively wrapped me tightly. Protecting me from whatever that coming toward us. Strangely, this happened just out of a sudden.

“She is around.” Adam sat up warily. Meanwhile, I could feel Luca's body stiffening as he hugged me.

“She is too weak… It's most likely that she will need more time to attack us.” I said it with confidence.

Adam looked at me, his expression as if asking me to explain further. I gulped. Again, I'm still not used to talking so much to strangers.

“I'm here, Lilly Love.” Luca's soothing voice sounded in my head.

It's true that I have to change my cowardly attitude now. I am no longer that Lilly from the past, whose life was full of torment and fear. I am free now and I have three mates who will always be there to look after me.

“We were on the war. Fighting against Mira and her minions.” I started and took a deep breath. "And I knew that Mira would definitely come for me because she was already targeting me after she knew my real identity. So, we made a plan to trap her…”

Adam silently heard me when I explained everything that happened. He seemed concentrate to everything I said. I told the part about how I thought of trapping Mira and how we managed to bring her here. But I didn't tell him about the Rogues or Nero at all. Because they were part of my dark past. I didn't want to bring them here.

“So.. She has a sister? Another witch like her?” Adam frowned.

I shook my head, “Yes and no. Yes, she had a sister and no, her sister was quite opposite from her. She is a good friend of ours…” I tried to be strong when I said it. Myrna always helps me, and the triplets. I think she just wanted to have friends and make amends.

I didn't want to tell Adam that Myrna was the first one to control the Realm portal and opened the way for Mira to go wherever she wanted to hunt the Dryads.

The sacrifice that Myrna made was enough to atone for her guilt. I don't want to blame her. Myrna once told me that she just wanted to help people to get home easily, that's why she worked really hard to find a way to control the portal.

“Then, we only need to take care of this one witch.” Adam said, nodding and I agreed.

“Is she seriously injured? Why didn't I see any signs that she was hurt? The dark aura actually feels really strong…” Adam sounded unsure.

“She is still strong indeed. But this time, something happened and I'm sure we can stop that evil creature from the masses this time.” I said.

"What's that?" Luca and Adam asked almost at the same time.

"We can’t kill before, because she still had living blood ties. She’s alone  now, she can bleed, she can die…” I whispered. As if I didn't want my words to be heard by anyone who was stalking us from a distance.

I hope the wind didn't carry my words to that evil creature.

“Myrna’s dead…” Luca said slowly as he still processing the words into his mind.

I nodded my head.

This was also very difficult for me, but this was the reality. Myrna had told me before that if I wanted to stop Mira, I had to kill her. And Mira can only be killed if her blood ties in this world no longer exist.

And Myrna did plan to kill herself as soon as her sister entered the portal.

Mira is alone now because I know for sure that Myrna was gone. Myrna always keeps her promises to me.

And now, it's time for Mira to stop because she already destroyed so many lives, she killed for power and fun. She is too evil to even exist in this world anymore.

I closed my eyes trying not to cry. I won’t make her sacrifice go in vain. She was the one who saved my life and gave me a second chance to have a better life and live among the people who love me the most.
