Marly POV

I screamed as they dragged me out of the shelter.  I kicked my feet out, trying to wrestle away from them.  They were stronger, and there were two of them holding my arms.  The other two grabbed my legs.  No, this cannot be happening, I thought to myself, as tears rolled down my cheeks.

“I get to go first,” the Beta said, when Maxwell growled.  “I go first,” he said, as if staking his claim.  “Okay, then I am next,” the Beta replied.  I looked to Maxwell, “Please do not do this,” I begged.  I thought I saw a look of remorse but before I could cling to it, it was gone.

Tossing me on the ground, two guys held my hands, while Maxwell stood between my legs.  I was still trying to kick him when he put a booted foot on my leg, holding my leg still.  If he put any more pressure on it, he would break it.  “No fighting your fate, Omega,” he snarled.

He kneeled in front of me, undoing the button to my jeans and pulling them down, leaving my white panties on.  “So virginal,” the Beta smirked.  “She is not a virgin,” Maxwell said with a smile.  “You beast,” one of the other guys stated.  “Those hips will be amazing to hold onto,” the Beta panted.

As Maxwell kneeled between my legs, I saw his claws extend.  He sliced through my top, causing me to scream out as his claw dug into my chest.  He laughed, as he slowly slid the top apart.  “Those are delicious,” he muttered, as he leaned forward pinching one of my nipples.

I felt a slight betrayal as the mate bond started to kick in, but it was quickly replaced with the terror I was living in the moment.  He started to move towards my panties, when I screamed “NO!”.  Before I knew what was happening all four men were tossed away from my body.

I lay there panting, uncertain what had just happened.  I glanced around me seeing all four men passed out around me.  “Oh, my goddess; did I kill them?  But how?” I muttered as I sat up slowly pulling the ripped shirt around my bleeding chest.  “They are alive, just passed out.  But not for long.  You need to run, Marly!” my wolf, Lana yells in my mind.

Stirring me to action I jumped up and looked up the road.  I took off running, rocks digging into my bare feet.  I raced along the road, not looking back to see if they were following me.  As if sensing my fear, I heard a howl letting me know that Maxwell had awoken.

I tried to run faster but I kept falling down owing to the rocks imbedding themselves in my feet.  I started to cry, but Lana kept nudging me on, “Keep going, Marly.  You need to keep moving,” she pleaded with me.  I was certain she was putting some of her strength into me as I stood once more and was moving.

Suddenly I heard what sounded like a car coming towards me.  I glanced back and saw in the distance a car barrelling down the street.  Screaming, I jumped into the ditch and kept moving into the forest.  It had always scared me, but knowing what fate was awaiting me, scared me more.

I kept moving as I heard the car in the distance coming closer.  I heard it stop, and my heart stopped beating.  I hid behind a tree, not daring to breathe, as I waited to see what they would do next.  “I can smell your fear, Omega,” I heard Maxwell call out.  I knew he had not moved into the forest, or I would have felt his movement.

I clasped my hand over my mouth to prevent me from responding.  “Come on man, we have to get back to town,” I heard someone say.  “You caught a break, mate; but expect me later,” Maxwell called out.  I heard the car doors slam, and the car take off down the road.

I looked at my watch.  It was close to the time I should be getting home to make supper.  I needed to hurry to get home, but I was afraid it was a trick to get me out of hiding.  I slowly moved around the tree, holding my breath.  I looked around frantically seeing nobody waiting for me.

Trying to move soundlessly, I made my way back to the main road.  As I got there, I looked up the road and saw nothing in the distance.  They had truly left me behind.  I started to run once again, knowing what fate was waiting for me, if I did not get home in time to prepare the meal for my parent’s guests.

As I rounded the bend before my home, I could see there was already two vehicles in the driveway.  Knowing I could not enter the front, I entered from the back entrance.  I tried to grab something to cover myself, but there was nothing out to be worn.  I peeked inside the kitchen, to see my mother scowling, muttering under her breath.

As if sensing me, she turned and frowned when she saw me.  But that look quickly morphed to anger.  “Where the hell have you been?” she whispered at me angrily, moving closer to grab my arm.  “I said be home early,” she said, dragging me further inside the kitchen.

“Gamma, please I need to put clothes on,” I pleaded with her as she shoved me to the stove.  “Quickly, go change and I will start the vegetables,” she said, shocking me as I raced towards my room.  I quickly showered off the remnants of my experience, before racing back downstairs.  I immediately went to the fridge, pulling out the meat to be barbequed.

“How many are we expecting?” I asked quietly, while inside dying at the embarrassment of my mother seeing me in the way I was.  “They are already here.  We have two guests.  And I suggest you hustle in making that meal,” she said as she started to leave the kitchen.  “Mother, I am sorry,” I replied quietly.

My mother stopped to glance back at me.  She scanned my body, having seen me when I first came in.  “Unfortunately, you have learned a tough lesson today, Omega,” she replies as she turns to walk away.  “Wait, what?” I asked, confused by the reply.  She turned to me with disappointment in her eyes.  “You are an Omega, Marly; Omegas do not get happy ever afters,” she said softly before turning away leaving me in stunned silence.

I felt the tears burn my eyes.  Why was this my fate?  And who were the guests?
