Angel's POV

My limbs feel heavy and my mouth dry as I struggle to open my eyes. I blinked my eyes but the light from the windows made me shut them back. I could hear voices, unfamiliar voices and the air smelt different too.

Where exactly is this place?

Opening my eyes, the room flooded with shining lights, my gaze wandered around. The room was expansive, the walls white, and the smell of antiseptic hung in the air. Glancing down at my arm, the sight of the bandage struck me, and the realization dawned - I was lying in a hospital bed, an IV line attached to my body.

I felt nothing, my mind was like a blank slate as I strained to piece together the memories that led to this moment. Closing my eyes brought no clarity, only the fuzziness of forgotten events.

Then, I remember Shanna, and then the memories came flooding and I was whimpering in seconds as I remembered how the bullet penetrated into me.
