Now is the time

The moment he left my room, I felt like my heart had been ripped out of me. I heard footsteps, but none of them had that familiar tone to them or his scent; he did reject me.

"Brynn, you can’t stay here sulking; you have to fight; let him know how much you regret everything and how much you love him," I tell myself as I dress up.

I wore casual Jean pants and a white long-sleeved V-neck altered top before I packed my hair into a ponytail and just waited. I didn’t know what I was waiting for.

Not until I heard the door unclick and saw Alissa standing outside it with an assuring smile but one laced with pity, like she had known what happened,

I didn’t care if she pitted me against her as I ran toward her and hugged her; it was nice seeing a familiar face I could talk to. "Alissa, thank goodness you’re here," I muttered as I felt her hold me tighter.

She was patient, not moving away from my gaze as I looked up to meet hers. "And how have you been, Brynn?"

"Not good." I couldn’t
